Chapter 367: Chapter 367: He’s Just a Pervert in Private

Jane Carter looked at Zoe Sawyer and the others, a hint of wariness flashing in her eyes.

Zoe Sawyer noticed her deliberately lowered voice and recalled that Jane Carter’s daughter had once seen a psychologist. ’She must be sensitive to sound.’

’If they just came out and said they were here about Mr. Wallace, it would likely provoke a strong emotional reaction.’

After a moment of thought, Zoe Sawyer presented Jane Carter with the screenshot of the post and the portrait of Mr. Wallace that Beau had drawn. "We’re here today primarily about this," she said. "Ms. Carter, if you know anything, we hope you can tell us."

When she saw the face in the portrait, an uncontrollable look of hatred surfaced on Jane Carter’s face, but her gaze toward Zoe Sawyer and the others remained wary. "What exactly are you trying to say?"

Seeing the defensiveness on Jane Carter’s face, the group exchanged a glance. In the end, it was Heath Hale who pushed the sketch of Aaron Nash on the ground toward her, his tone sincere. "We suspect Mr. Wallace is connected to a murder case.

This is a sketch from the crime scene. According to the information our police department has, the deceased had discovered some of Mr. Wallace’s secrets and was trying to blackmail him.

But it didn’t work. The killer turned the tables and killed him instead."

Heath Hale showed the sketch to Jane Carter for a moment before continuing, "We came here today mainly to understand the hidden story behind your comment. It could be a huge help in catching the killer."

Jane Carter stared intently at the sketch in front of her, her voice tinged with confusion. "This man looks like the guy who used to wander around the neighborhood. His last name was Nash, I think?"

"Yes, that’s him." Heath Hale sat up straight, looked at Jane Carter, and continued, "When was the last time you saw him? Do you remember?

Do you know his usual hangouts?"

When he’d entered, Heath Hale had touched the nearby appliances and hadn’t felt the slight tingle of an electrical current. ’So they probably aren’t stealing power from this building.’

Jane Carter thought for a moment, then shook her head with certainty. "I haven’t seen him. He used to wander around these few complexes every day, but I haven’t seen him at all for the past two days.

I’m not too clear on the details, though. That man had a bad reputation, so we would never even consider hiring him for odd jobs."

Since they had no need for his services, they naturally wouldn’t have paid attention to his whereabouts.

It was just a little surprising not to see someone she was used to seeing almost every day.

’Two days?’

Heath Hale mulled it over, then asked, "Let’s set that aside for a moment. Our main reason for coming here is still to find out about Mr. Wallace.

A life is on the line, Ms. Carter. Can we trouble you to tell us what you know?"

Faced with the question again, Jane Carter fell silent for a long time. Finally, with a sigh, her gaze drifted to two closed doors nearby. "My biggest regret in life was being too demanding of my children.

To help them improve their grades, I specifically chose a tutoring center close to home, and it caused my children to develop depression. They used to be so bright and cheerful, always too restless to stay at home.

Now, they can go for weeks without saying a single word."

At this, Jane Carter wiped her face, her voice turning venomous with resentment. "That Mr. Wallace... on the surface, he might be the most popular teacher at the center, but in private, he’s a complete pervert!

If it wasn’t for him, my two children would have never been harmed!"
