Chapter 323: Chapter 323: Or, Perhaps I Can?

Since it cost them nothing, and spurred on by some rumors, Iris Logan and her boyfriend decided to save a little money wherever they could. They immediately finalized their plan, which led to them digging up a grave and burning the corpse.

After hearing the whole story, Evan Keller rubbed his chin. He looked at the confession before him and asked one last question. "So, who’s your supplier? Or, to put it another way, who’s the one providing you with the powder?"

Paul Logan shook his head frantically. "I’m just a runner. I really don’t know."

Evan Keller stared at Paul Logan for a long moment, finally concluding that he really didn’t know.

"Alright, I get the picture. We’ll come find you if we need anything else." Evan Keller closed his notebook and gestured to the officer at the door to take Paul Logan away.

With Paul Logan’s confession and the information they already possessed, getting the other two to talk would be much easier.

Once the police laid out the evidence, the pair might struggle a little at first, but they would eventually come clean about everything in hopes of a lighter sentence.

They even explained in perfect detail how they contacted their supplier, picked up the product, and any codes they used.

Iris Logan and her boyfriend knew that, given their situation, they’d never get out of prison.

If things got any more serious, they might even lose their lives.

Since they no longer had a future, they figured it couldn’t hurt to drag a few more people down with them.

Evan Keller was more than happy to watch this dog-eat-dog drama unfold; in fact, he wished there was more of it.

Only after confirming they had spilled everything they knew did Evan Keller close his notebook and leave the interrogation room.

Next up was the real battle.

According to Iris Logan and her boyfriend’s confession, they were supposed to pick up the next shipment tomorrow at 8:00 PM.

However, the location was TBD. It was different every time; the supplier would only send the address right before the meet.

"Now we wait for the supplier’s notification, but that puts us at a disadvantage." Evan Keller sat in his office, drumming his fingers on the desk. His voice was tinged with frustration.

When the dealers announce the location, they’ll surely have the area secured.

If the police were to move in only after getting the message, the dealers would easily spot them and go on alert.

Not only would all their previous work be for nothing, but they would definitely tip off their targets.

The others frowned as well. This was definitely a critical problem they had to solve.

"Perhaps I can help?" Zoe Sawyer offered, raising her hand as she looked at everyone’s furrowed brows.

All eyes turned to Zoe Sawyer.

Zoe Sawyer could now use the door’s ability to trigger a premonition, but she couldn’t specify a location.

That was why Evan Keller and the others hadn’t considered relying on Zoe’s ability in the first place.

"What do you have in mind?" Heath Hale fixed his gaze on Zoe’s face. His tone was gentle, but it held a flicker of hope.

Feeling the expectant gazes from everyone in the office, Zoe felt a little self-conscious, even though this had happened many times before. She rubbed her nose and said, "I’ll give it a shot. I’ll try to use the door’s precognitive ability to focus on the time between seven and eight o’clock tomorrow evening.

"The phone Iris and her boyfriend use to contact their supplier is sitting on Evan’s desk right now. So, what if I set the location to Evan’s desk? It just might work, right?"

’If it doesn’t work the first time, I’ll just try a few more times.’

’The door’s ability hadn’t been updated in a long time,’ Zoe thought. ’There must be a lot of undiscovered ways to use it.’

’This is the perfect opportunity to see if this method is feasible.’

With no better options, Evan Keller thought for a moment and agreed to Zoe’s proposal.

Still, he didn’t forget to add a word of caution. "Don’t push yourself too hard. If it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work. The worst-case scenario is we just deploy more officers. We’ll get them one way or another."

’This dealer is a major target, but Zoe’s safety is just as important.’

’Between the two, Evan would much rather Zoe prioritize her own well-being.’

"Don’t worry, I know what I’m doing." Zoe flashed an "OK" sign at Evan and the others before getting up and heading toward the door.

Beau glanced around before deciding to follow Zoe.

’I’m just listening in over here anyway,’ Beau thought. ’Might as well go with Zoe. Maybe I can even help.’

As for Evan Keller and the others, once they saw Zoe and Beau walk over to the door, they returned their attention to their discussion.

They couldn’t put all their eggs in Zoe’s basket; they had to have a backup plan.

Zoe stood before the door, her mind replaying the parameters she’d just laid out. She placed her hand on the doorknob, ready to act at a moment’s notice.

The second she got the feeling, she would open the door.

An unknown amount of time passed. Beau, who had been standing with Zoe by the door, quietly shifted a leg and, making as little noise as possible, crouched down to rest.

Beau made no sound at all, terrified that any slight disturbance would affect Zoe.

The discussion among Evan Keller and his team grew much quieter. They kept glancing over at Zoe, their eyes full of hope.

But Zoe was completely immersed, utterly unaware of her surroundings.

In her mind, she kept adjusting the keywords and timeframe. For greater accuracy, she even began to visualize the entire area around the desk.

After another ten minutes or so, that familiar feeling finally washed over her.

Zoe’s eyes flew open, a delighted look on her face.

Then, as everyone watched with bated breath, she opened the door.

On the other side of the door was Evan Keller’s desk. A single cell phone sat on top of it.

It was the very phone Evan had confiscated from the suspect earlier that day.

The desk was surrounded by people, their attention fixed on the phone, waiting to see where the drop would be.

At 7:30 PM, a text message suddenly popped up on the screen.

Everyone tensed. ’This is it!’

Evan, quick on the draw, opened the text. The message was simple: just an address for a shopping mall.

Officer Lee glanced at the address, spun around, and his fingers flew across his keyboard.

In less than a minute, Officer Lee stood up and looked at Evan and the others. "The mall isn’t far. It’s about a ten-minute drive from here."

From the direction of Vivian Jills’s house or Iris Logan’s weight-loss center, the drive would be about twenty minutes.

The distance was greater from those locations, leaving Iris and her boyfriend just enough time to get there.

"They probably chose this location to keep Iris and her boyfriend on a short leash," Heath Hale remarked, looking at the time and address with a knowing expression.

The timing was tight. Even if Iris and her boyfriend tried anything funny, the dealers would have enough time to react and get away.

"That’s right. Iris also said that once they get to the location, they have to wait for the dealers to approach them; otherwise, she and her boyfriend have no idea who’s handling the transaction."
