Chapter 312: Chapter 312: Do You Really Not Know What I Want to Do?

If her mother had truly made no demands and just offered to buy her diet pills, *that’s* when the girl would have worried she’d lost her mind.

"Then transfer the money to me now. I’ll place the order, and it can arrive tonight.

My current course isn’t over yet. I can’t stop, or the weight will just rebound, and everything I took before will have been for nothing," the girl rambled, holding her hand out to her mother.

The aunt suppressed her irritation. Remembering her niece’s instructions, she transferred the money to the girl.

The moment she got the money, the girl accepted the transfer and prepared to place the order without another word.

Less than a minute later, the girl’s head snapped up. She looked at her mother, her voice tinged with a pleading tone. "Mom, can you give me a little more? He also has something for maintenance and nutritional supplements. I want to buy some to try."

The aunt furrowed her brow at the opportune moment, expressing her doubt. "Diet pills that are also nutritional supplements?"

"Yes, yes, yes! The coach said this nutritional supplement is their latest technology. Just one serving meets all your daily needs, and it works perfectly with the course I’m on now for even better results." Afraid her mother wouldn’t believe her, the girl even shoved her phone in her mother’s face, showing her the "test report" the seller had sent over.

The aunt glanced at the very detailed-looking materials, hesitated for a moment, and said, "Fine. But this is the only time."

The girl nodded frantically, agreeing without issue.

’Whatever. I’ll just buy it this time. When I need more later, I’ll figure something out.’

After getting the money again, the girl ordered the two "diet pills." Seeing the seller say they would deliver them now, she put her phone away, satisfied.

The aunt seized the opportunity to say, "Alright, I bought them for you. Now be a good girl and go eat a few bites of dinner."

Although the girl was reluctant, she remembered her earlier promise and sat down at the dining table, forcing down a few bites.

Then she sat on the sofa, waiting with eager anticipation.

"Auntie, just act like you don’t know anything. Do whatever you normally do. Don’t let my cousin notice anything is wrong.

Now that she’s bought the pills again, she’s definitely going to be suspicious about why you had a change of heart. You can’t let her see through you." Hayden Shaw heard her aunt pacing back and forth and quickly reminded her.

After all, just a short while ago, her aunt had made harsh threats to stop her from buying the pills, saying she didn’t believe her daughter would die if she didn’t take them.

And then, just a few minutes later, she changed her mind.

They had reached the most critical step now. There could be no mistakes.

"Ah, okay, I know." The aunt knew she couldn’t keep this up. She took a deep breath, and just like usual, she took out her cross-stitch, sat across from her daughter, and watched TV while she embroidered.

Sure enough, after her initial excitement wore off, the girl cast a suspicious gaze toward her mother.

But one glance was all it took to see that she was the same as always, cross-stitching while watching TV.

Her expression was calm, showing no signs of anything unusual.

’Could it be that she really felt sorry for me and that’s why she caved and bought the diet pills?’

The girl couldn’t figure it out. She watched for a while longer but couldn’t spot anything out of the ordinary, so she pushed the matter to the back of her mind.

’Oh well, whatever. At least I got the pills!’

Less than an hour later, there was a knock at the door.

The girl ran over excitedly and opened the door. A bag filled with medication was sitting on the ground.

Outside, there was no one in sight.

As if long familiar with this routine, the girl picked up the bag without any surprise and closed the door.

The aunt kept pretending to watch TV nonchalantly. Only after the girl took out one of the packages, swallowed the contents, and returned to her room satisfied, carrying the rest, did the aunt put down her cross-stitch.

"Hayden, what do I do next?" The aunt’s gaze toward her daughter’s room was filled with worry, and her voice held a hint of panic.

Hayden Shaw said, "Auntie, don’t rush. Wait until my cousin is asleep, then sneak the pills out and bring them to me."

"I suppose that’s the only way," the aunt sighed and continued to wait.

An unknown amount of time passed. It wasn’t until the sky outside was completely dark that the aunt finally got up from the sofa.

She tiptoed to her daughter’s door and opened it. Seeing her fast asleep in bed, she carefully took one of the diet pill packages.

She thought for a moment, then took two more packages and put them in her pocket. After making sure she hadn’t missed anything, she slowly backed out of the room.

As soon as she had them, the aunt delivered the three packages to Hayden Shaw as quickly as she could.

Hayden Shaw, in turn, immediately sent the three items to be tested.

"The results will take at least three days to come back. Auntie, why don’t we just bring her in for a check-up? That would be the fastest way," Hayden Shaw said, looking at her aunt’s anxious expression.

The aunt didn’t hesitate. Upon hearing Hayden Shaw’s suggestion, she immediately nodded in agreement. "Okay! She’s been complaining about not feeling well these past few days and took time off from school anyway.

I’ll go get her right now."

The aunt was a woman of action. The moment she finished speaking, she stood up and headed for home.

In less than an hour, she was back at the police station, dragging her daughter along.

"Mom, what are you doing?!" The girl’s face was full of impatience and irritation, her entire posture radiating resistance.

But she was no match for her mother’s strength. No matter how unwilling she was, she was still pulled inside.

Hayden Shaw was already waiting in the interview room.

Face to face, with no beauty filters to hide behind, it went without saying that professionally trained officers like Sean Hughes and Hayden Shaw, who had dealt with numerous drug users, could tell something was wrong. Even Zoe Sawyer and Beau could see it.

"Her face is so sallow, and she’s so skinny. Is she sick?" Beau asked, staring at the girl’s alarmingly gaunt face with a hint of hesitation.

Zoe Sawyer pulled Beau over to a corner, giving Hayden Shaw, her aunt, and her cousin enough space, before whispering in reply, "We don’t know. That’s why we need to find out if she’s sick or not."

"Hayden, I brought her. And these are the pills, and her phone." While still holding onto her daughter with one hand, the aunt placed the bag she was carrying on the table with the other.

Then she forced the girl down into a chair. "Hannah Thompson! You settle down right now!"

To prevent her daughter from contacting the person selling the pills, the first thing the aunt had done when she got home was confiscate all of Hannah Thompson’s communication devices, turn them off, and put them in the bag.

Hayden Shaw pushed the bag aside, put on a pair of gloves, and, while Hannah Thompson was struggling, plucked a few strands of her hair.

"Hayden Shaw! What the hell are you doing?!" First her phone was taken, then she was dragged to the police station, and now her hair was being pulled out.

Hannah Thompson finally snapped. She glared at Hayden Shaw, who stood before her, her expression murderous.

"What am I doing? Do you really not know?"
