Once he was sure he wasn’t needed for the moment, Evan Keller bid farewell to Captain Taylor and headed back.

From the moment they’d rushed over, Zoe Sawyer and Beau had been watching surveillance footage and drawing by the door. They were under intense strain, so Evan Keller planned to let them rest for a bit.

After all, just as Captain Taylor had said, tomorrow would be a tough fight, and they had to keep their minds sharp.

Evan Keller also had another idea: if tomorrow’s operation was truly dangerous, he would need Zoe Sawyer to be stationed by the door all day to maintain contact with everyone.

That way, if anything went wrong, she could open the door in time to rescue them.

After Evan Keller left, a man who had been paying close attention to Captain Taylor’s group came over. "Any new leads?" he asked. "Let me see."

Then, he saw the white piece of paper with the warning written on it.

The man frowned, his tone filled with disbelief. "I’m going to be pushed off a building? This hasn’t happened yet. How could she possibly know?"

’Is this specialist they brought in some kind of fraud?’

’But can you really trust something like this?’

Captain Wright was deeply skeptical.

"Don’t worry about how she knows. The point is, this information is highly credible," Captain Taylor said, not answering the question. He stared grimly at Captain Wright, who stood before him. "You’d better be damn careful on the mission tomorrow, kid."

The kid had been by his side since he first joined the force, and he had always poured his heart into mentoring him.

The thought that tomorrow’s operation could lead to his death gave Captain Taylor a sudden urge to hand the mission off to someone else.

’But no, I can’t break the rules over personal feelings.’

’That would be a disgrace to the uniform we wear!’

After that warning, Captain Wright hadn’t expected to get a straight answer from Captain Taylor anyway.

But seeing the solemn expression on his mentor’s face, he stood up straighter and gave his assent.

With the suspect sketches, Captain Taylor quickly handed the three portraits over to his colleagues in the tech unit. He asked them to run facial recognition and see if they could get a real-time location.

Thanks to Zoe Sawyer’s precise descriptions and Beau’s masterful artistic skill, the tech department staff locked onto a suspect after just over ten minutes of searching and matching.

"Gavin Keller. His file says he’s currently unemployed. When he runs out of money, he does some odd jobs, then uses the cash to live it up for a while. When the money’s gone, he finds another odd job.

Real-time tracking will take a little more time." The tech unit officer quickly handed the file to Captain Taylor.

It also included a map marking the locations of Gavin Keller’s odd jobs over the past year.

Looking at the red dots on it, Captain Taylor stroked his chin and frowned.

Captain Wright leaned in, and after getting a clear look at the marked locations, he blurted out, "This guy is pretty particular about where he works. It’s always near subway entrances, hotels, or office buildings with heavy foot traffic.

This doesn’t seem like just working odd jobs. It’s more like he’s casing the places, familiarizing himself with the terrain."

Captain Taylor said nothing. He pulled his gaze away from the file in his hands, looked at the tech unit officer beside him, and said, "Pull up all the surveillance footage of Gavin Keller from this period. We might find something new."

"Yes, sir!"

The tech unit officer acknowledged the order and turned to head back to his workstation.

"Take two men and head over to the Windnew Building to check things out, but be discreet," Captain Taylor ordered Captain Wright.

Captain Wright nodded and left with two men.

Meanwhile, after Evan Keller returned, he told everyone to rest up. They needed to be fully energized to better handle whatever might happen tomorrow.

Zoe Sawyer lay on the folding cot, her eyes closed. Various images she had seen flashed through her mind, finally settling on the three warnings from the door.

「When she woke up again, it was the next day.」

In the office, Evan Keller and Heath Hale had already taken Hayden Shaw and Joey to join Captain Taylor’s team for the operation.

"You’re awake? Come get something to eat." Vivian Dunn placed breakfast on the table, calling for Zoe Sawyer and Beau to come and eat.

Once they had positioned Zoe Sawyer in front of the door, where she could always see the screen without blocking the entrance, Vivian Dunn handed her a headset. "This is for real-time communication. Wear it so you can stay in contact with Captain Keller and Heath Hale."

Evan Keller had explained the plan to her before bed, so Zoe Sawyer said nothing. She simply put on the headset and took her seat before the door, ready for anything.

「Meanwhile, at the Windnew Building.」

Captain Wright and his men had arrived near the building early that morning. After communicating with the tech unit and confirming Gavin Keller had not yet arrived, he quickly ordered his team to disperse.

He made sure every angle was covered, ensuring that no one entering, exiting, or even passing by the building would escape their surveillance.

Evan Keller, Heath Hale, Hayden Shaw, and Joey stayed by Captain Wright’s side as backup, ready to intervene if anything unexpected happened.

Everyone scanned the area, and only after confirming the suspect was nowhere in sight did they relax just a little.

The time flew by, and soon it was 3:00 PM. A familiar, backpack-wearing figure came into view.

"It’s Sean Vance! He’s here. So where’s Gavin Keller?" Captain Wright’s expression grew taut as he spotted Sean Vance, his eyes locked on the man.

The tech unit officer quickly answered Captain Wright’s question: "Gavin Keller has left his place and is heading toward the Windnew Building now.

He stopped for a few minutes in a park near his home, where trees conveniently blocked the security cameras. When he came back into view, he was carrying a briefcase.

Based on his speed, in about five minutes, Gavin Keller should arrive at the Windnew Building and meet up with Sean Vance."

Hearing this, the team grew tense, any earlier feeling of relief completely gone.

Soon enough, Gavin Keller entered their surveillance perimeter.

Watching the two men draw closer, Captain Wright raised his hand, ready to signal the order to move in at any moment.

Just a second before Captain Wright was about to drop his hand and signal his team members to move in,

a panicked female voice came through the headset: "Wait! Don’t move!

There’s someone at the northwest corner of the Windnew Building! He’s been in all the surveillance videos of Sean Vance! And his appearance is different each time!"

Captain Wright’s heart pounded in shock at her words, and he hastily pulled his hand back.

The second she finished speaking, the furious clacking of a keyboard sounded through the comms.

In less than ten seconds, the voice of the tech unit officer came through the headset.

"Confirmed! There is someone at the northwest corner!"
