Elias Hale kept trying to break free from the bodyguards, so Melody Thorne could only have them help strap him to the chair.

"Leon Rivers, are you sure what you gave him was a sobering pill? Why is it doing absolutely nothing to him?"

Leon Rivers: "...If the booze doesn’t get you drunk, you get yourself drunk. My sobering pill probably doesn’t work on him!"

"I don’t care what kind of drunk he is. He’s a doctor, you’re a doctor—use whatever method you want, just sort him out for me!"

"Like this?" Leon lifted his arm, rolled his fist a couple of times, strode over, and landed a punch right on Elias’s handsome face. He didn’t hold back—blood came out instantly!

"Leon Rivers, what are you doing? Did I say you could hit him?" Melody hurried over and helped Elias sit up.

"Sis, that’s where you don’t get it. Sometimes a man needs one good punch to snap out of it, otherwise his fake-drunk act is top-notch!"

After taking that punch, Elias finally quieted down. He pressed his tongue against the inside of his lip, then lifted his head. "My business is none of your concern. Let me go."

"No way!" Melody shook her head. "You’re my lifesaver—you’ve saved me more than once. Even getting my memories back this time was all thanks to you. I’ve got no way to repay such a huge favor except by meddling in your life a little more!"

"I said I don’t need it."

"Leon Rivers, tie the rope on him tighter. If he keeps going on like this, just let him spend his whole life sitting in that chair. Saves the trouble of eating, drinking, and going to the bathroom and sleeping!"

"Got it." Leon tightened the rope again, glanced at the time. "Sis, I gotta run, I still have things to do. Can’t sit here staring at some dude all day, can I?"

"Wait, I’m leaving too. You can drive me to the office, I’ll find someone to watch him here." Melody took out her phone and called Jenson Ona.

"Master!" The shout from the other end almost shattered her eardrum.
