Chapter 280: Arrival at the Imperial Capital

He then turned toward Nyxara and Velena.

"You two should return to the System Space. I don’t want anyone discovering your identities until I find a suitable treasure that prevents others from seeing through your human disguises."

Of course, not many people could see through Nyxara’s disguise. However, compared to the powerful figures who would be present in Everhart City, she wouldn’t be able to conceal her true identity. Unlike Nova, she didn’t possess Origin Concealment.

As for Velena, she was only an Emperor, so she couldn’t hide her identity from those powerful enough to see through her disguise either.

Both Nyxara and Velena understood Nova’s reasoning and agreed that he was right to be cautious.

Nyxara hugged him and gave him a kiss. Nova patted her head and said, "Don’t worry. You can watch everything from the System Space with Liya. She’ll stop the time dilation."

Nyxara nodded. Nova then turned toward Velena, who was looking at him as though she were expecting something from him as well.

Understanding what she wanted, Nova chuckled softly and patted her purple head, gently caressing it for a while. Velena enjoyed it whenever he did that.

Nova had noticed that she was becoming more and more expressive with each passing day. He had even begun learning what her different expressions meant.

Deciphering the expressions of the beautiful milf maid was quite interesting. In that regard, she could be surprisingly cute, and Nova planned to take the final step with her once he found the right opportunity.

After that, both women returned to the System Space, where they found Liya sitting on the couch with a bowl of popcorn in her hands, watching Nova’s point of view on a large screen.

They joined her, settling in to watch what happened next. Meanwhile, Nova flew toward the city’s entrance with Rieka, Asia, and Bai Chen.

As they travelled, Bai Chen couldn’t help but praise his junior brother inwardly.

How incredible! Junior Brother has become so good at winning women’s hearts! The number of wives he has keeps increasing, and now even that maid has fallen for him.

If things continue like this, it won’t be long before he gains even more wives!

Bai Chen’s thoughts weren’t entirely wrong. Nova possessed a natural charisma that drew women toward him, and even if he didn’t actively seek more wives, he might still end up with more in the future.

Soon, Nova and his group arrived at the gates of the Imperial Capital, Everhart City.

The entire city was surrounded by a powerful mana formation that prevented anyone from entering without having their identity checked. After all, this was Everhart City, the largest and most important city on the entire Human Continent.

Nova, Asia, Rieka, and Bai Chen landed near the massive gates. They were even larger than those of Vaunis, though Everhart City itself wasn’t surrounded by walls from all sides, as the formation already provided sufficient security.

Nova noticed two guards standing at the entrance, both of whom were Level 2 Emperors. He could immediately see the difference in security between Vaunis and the Imperial Capital.

The two guards stepped forward to block their path. Looking at the newcomers, they saw two men and two women.

Both women appeared extraordinarily beautiful, and although they wore veils that concealed their faces, their appearances were still striking. One of them was clearly a beastfolk.

One of the men was tall and well-built, though his aura suggested that he was merely a Low King Realm expert.

The other was short and dressed rather amusingly, with an aura that also indicated the Low King Realm, albeit slightly stronger than that of the taller man.

Of course, Nova had deliberately concealed his true strength. He was here as Nova Valencrest not as the Slaughter Monarch, but he could become either if the situation demanded it.

"State your identities!" one of the guards demanded.

"There’s no need for that. Don’t you recognize him, you idiot? He’s Nova Valencrest, the champion of the Empire’s Grand Youth Tournament! And those two are Asia Frost and Rieka Vargirth, the third- and fourth-place holders."

"Sorry... This guy didn’t watch the tournament, so he doesn’t know who you are," the other Emperor said awkwardly.

Of course, Nova and his wives were famous throughout the continent because of the tournament broadcast. There was no need for them to prove their identities through ordinary means.

"There’s no need to apologize. It’s fine," Nova said calmly.

"Who is this, then?" the other guard asked, looking at Bai Chen. He recognized the other three but didn’t know the identity of the short man.

Nova answered, "He’s my friend. He’s with me. His name is Bai Chen." The Emperor nodded in understanding before speaking again.

"Alright, but before you enter the city, you must follow one important procedure." As he spoke, the guard took out a crystal. Nova immediately recognized it.

"Please place your hand here. I don’t mean to be rude to the winners of the tournament, but we must follow the security measures," the guard explained.

"This crystal will check your race, in case anyone tries to enter the city while disguised as someone else."

"It’s fine," Nova replied before placing his hand on the crystal.

The crystal verified his identity, confirming that he was human. The others followed suit, and all four passed the inspection without any problems.

"You may enter now. Sorry for the inconvenience," the guard said politely.

Nova and the others nodded before proceeding through the gates and entering Everhart City.

After entering the city, they were greeted by an astonishing view. From outside, they hadn’t been able to see what lay within because only the northern entrance was surrounded by massive walls, with a huge gate built into them.

The same arrangement existed on the southern side, while the remaining perimeter was protected by a powerful formation that covered the city like an enormous dome.

Nova had heard about this before, but seeing it with his own eyes still amazed him. Maintaining such a massive formation must require an enormous supply of mana every day.

Although Moonclaw had arrived in the Imperial Kingdom, he had yet to visit its capital, as he had been searching for the Eclipse Order in various other cities.

Of course, this didn’t mean the Imperial Capital was constantly in danger. Such incidents were extremely rare, even throughout its long history.

Nevertheless, strict security measures were necessary, as this was the main capital of the Human Empire.

After entering, they followed the road toward a massive structure stretching across the distance, nearly two kilometres ahead.

As they approached it, the magnificent view of Everhart City gradually unfolded before them, revealing a vast and bustling metropolis.

Nova chose the northern route, which was the longest and least frequently used. Most people preferred the southern route instead.

However, with his Spatial Traversal skill , Nova didn’t need to worry about the distance.

Everhart City resembled Vaunis in some ways, but the difference in scale was immediately apparent. Towering stone buildings lined the broad streets, their magnificent architecture reflecting the wealth and authority of the Human Empire.

Grand mansions, imposing structures, and bustling thoroughfares stretched as far as the eye could see, making the entire city feel far more magnificent than Vaunis.

In the distance, Nova could see the magnificent Imperial Castle, its imposing silhouette rising above the surrounding buildings. Not far from it stood the largest temple of the Light Goddess Order.

He could also spot another imposing structure nearby, the main headquarters of the Human Continent’s Twilight Order.
