Chapter 1583: Chapter 1582: Installation (1)

After taking a few minutes to walk around the city and familiarize themselves with what they were seeing, Lady D’Arcon and Lady Fenyras eventually made their way up to the Manor and joined us for tea… of which the Demon Wolf drained most of the bottle before we had even situated ourselves properly.

“So? What do you think of the existing infrastructure? Is there anywhere that caught your attention for this Transportation Circle, or do we need to figure something special out for it?”

The white clad Saintess pursed her lips and ’stared’ down at the tea in her hands, her slender fingers tapping gently at the porcelain cup as she gathered her thoughts only to end up ’glaring’ at Lady Fenyras, who belched loudly and shrugged.

“It only needs to be like… a twenty by twenty space, or somewhere there about. The circle’s diameter is ten feet, and it needs about twenty feet above it too just in case. I’m pretty sure, anyways. So just stuff it inside one of the existing buildings or something and call it a day.”

I just raised a brow before letting Jahi handle this as the Demoness replied “Something as important as a Transportation Circle – a form of magic that is considered long lost and extremely invaluable – cannot just be placed into another existing building without any thought. It is a symbol that Arx Amator needs to display proudly.”, earning a snort from the Demon Wolf.

“Which is why I must ask if there are any maps available of the city, with everything that is already built and any further plans you might have for those spaces. As you say it is a symbol that should bring pride and inspiration to the people, so we need to plan this carefully.”

I was about to get up and go fetch those maps when Jahi just gently pressed me back down and shook her head, ignoring my pout and getting up to go do so in my stead while leaving me here with our two honored guests.

One of whom was fixing me with a very obvious gaze, but after a moment I just tried to ignore her and found that it was surprisingly easier now when compared to before, something that I attributed to my body already being rather ’certain’ about who my mate was.

It was kind of hard for my body to ’yearn’ for another to become my mate when my belly was swollen with my actual mate’s pups, and for that I was very grateful since I could just focus on the slight smile adorning Lady D’Arcon’s face and talk to her instead of do anything regarding Lady Fenyras.

“Whilst we have a moment, Miss Katherine, would you mind if I went ahead and conducted the checkup? It should only take but a moment…”

With a nod I once again tried to rise, only for her to shake her head and keep me seated with a tap of her staff, gold threads of Light Mana wrapping around me and securing me to the couch so that she could come to me instead.

It made me pout again since I didn’t want to feel useless and incapable of even just moving, yet I knew that logically they – the ones not carrying babies – should be the ones moving around… though that didn’t make me feel any less stubborn about what was going on.

She moved around the table quietly and knelt down in front of me, her blindfolded face looking up at me with a bit of tenderness as well as some reluctance as she asked “Miss Katherine, for this to be as efficient and certain as possible I will need you to lift your dress slightly…”

I didn’t need to look to know that Lady Fenyras was grinning from ear to ear at that idea, and although a brief flash of heat warmed my entire body because of that I still just nodded and carefully positioned myself so that she couldn’t see most of me as I did as Lady D’Arcon asked.

Without any hesitation the holy woman rested her hand atop my belly and took a breath, those golden threads of magic wrapping loosely around my midriff and slowly snaking up and down, caressing every single inch of my skin that it could reach.

The feeling of those threads was warm and tender, so when they began to dissipate I unconsciously let out a low whine since the feeling of the air in the room was a bit cold compared to what I had just been caressed by.

“Well, it is all good news… I hope. They are all healthy and doing well, and your womb is surprisingly resilient despite the aforementioned conflict of extreme mana types. That isn’t to say everything shall remain fine going forwards, but that isn’t something that a few specific potions couldn’t handle.

The more ’important’ news is what makes me say ’I hope’, because… Miss Katherine, you are going to be a Mother to five pups. For a first time expecting Caninekin, that is rather plentiful, so it would seem there is no need to doubt either the fertility of you or your mate.”

That last part seemed to be more so directed at Lady Fenyras, who had clicked her tongue at the news for one reason or another, but I was still stuck up on the number that Lady D’Arcon had given me, my mind going blank before it was conjuring up scenes of what I was going to have to go through the moment these FIVE decided they wanted to emerge.

Then my mind was blank again as the shock settled in, only for Jahi to come back and gently shake me ’awake’ with a wry smile as she murmured “Five… well, that’s certainly something~!”, and as if sensing the opportunity to ’irritate’ me more, Anput scrambled downstairs with her usual grin that only grew larger when she heard the news.

Her loud whoops of joy summoned Leone down as well, so what had been initially a discussion about the Transportation Circle instead became a ’celebration’ of knowing that I was going to have to push out five separate pups sometime in the near future.
