"Uhm... a target to bully, apparently... and the only two options listed on my screen are Fredrinn... and Rhea. Cough."
"..."
"..."
Both Jenny and Rose were left completely speechless. They sat frozen on the rumpled bed, staring at the plump beauty who was nestled comfortably in between Fredrinn’s arms.
She needed to select a target to bully? And the only available choices were Fredrinn and Rhea?
Her own younger sister, or her newly claimed lover?
In addition to the sheer absurdity of the name, both women couldn’t help but wonder how Andrea had even managed to receive a system out of nowhere.
A system was not exactly a random prize you could just stumble upon or pick up off the street like loose change... right?
Of course, both Jenny and Rose were harboring these suspicious thoughts in complete isolation. Neither of them had any idea that the other woman also possessed a unique system interface of her own.
They had both made a conscious, deliberate choice to keep their status windows a closely guarded secret.
After all, an Awakened’s ultimate interface was not something that ever needed to be shared carelessly.
The only conceivable exception would be a scenario where they received a catastrophic, life-threatening quest that could put their loved ones in direct danger.
In that dire situation, they would be far more inclined to share the details, reveal the system, and brainstorm the best idea together.
Otherwise, why announce it to the world for no reason?
Regardless, their silent musings weren’t the main issue right now.
Fredrinn’s eyelids twitched heavily the moment he heard Andrea list her two options. This specific detail was something he hadn’t known beforehand, so his stunned reaction was entirely genuine.
More importantly, a sharp spike of concern shot through his mind: what if Andrea ended up picking Rhea due to sheer awkwardness or peer pressure?
His system had already revealed a vital hidden mechanic regarding Andrea’s new power.
She was eligible to receive double the normal rewards if Fredrinn bullied her back without her knowing about it! But he seriously doubted that Rhea would be capable of doing the same thing.
If Andrea picked her sweet, timid sister, that immense reward multiplier would effectively get cut in half!
For example, if Andrea received a future quest instructing her to slam Fredrinn against the wall and force a kiss onto him—a classic kabedon for the more cultured people—Fredrinn had the raw physical strength, the charm, and the shameless personality to effortlessly flip the script and bully her right back.
On the other hand, if Andrea were to suddenly shove Rhea against a wall and try to intimidate her, the poor girl would most likely just freeze up, turn beet red, become painfully awkward, or get thoroughly weirded out by her sister’s bizarre antics.
None of those reactions would fulfill the hidden counter-bullying condition to trigger the double rewards.
"So, which are you choosing?" Fredrinn asked, keeping his voice light, smooth, and deliberately casual so as not to sway her too overtly.
Andrea let out another dry, embarrassed cough. "Uhm, there’s a note right here that says... ’Fredrinn Winchester – System’s recommended choice’..."
Fredrinn chuckled softly, leaning his back comfortably against the wooden headboard.
His large, calloused fingers curled around her delicate waist. He applied a gentle, teasing pressure to the soft flesh, his dark eyes narrowing into an amused slit. "So now my little Andrea is going to bully me?"
"Hnn~"
A soft, helpless moan slipped past her lips in response. Andrea squirmed slightly against his chest, reaching down to grab his wrist and try to push his wandering hand away.
But Fredrinn’s fingers were already lazily drifting lower, casually exploring the sensitive curve between her bare thighs.
Yet, this tiny display of physical weakness didn’t reduce the feisty bite in her tongue in the slightest!
Instead of backing down, Andrea smirked. She tilted her chin back, meeting his predatory gaze with a bold, defiant spark in her hazel eyes before planting a cocky, possessive peck right on his lips.
"Why?" she challenged playfully. "As a girlfriend I don’t have the right to bully you?"
"You do," Fredrinn replied back almost immediately, without bothering to spend even half a second thinking about the question.
Whether he would actually roll over and let her push him around in practice didn’t matter at all right now.
This was a classic trap question—one of those universal relationship reflex tests whose correct answer should always be resting on the very tip of a man’s tongue!
It was just like when a woman suddenly turns around and asks, "Do I look fat in this?" You don’t even take a glance at her silhouette before answering with absolute certainty, "Of course not."
Or if she steps out of a fitting room asking, "Does this dress look good on me?" You are absolutely supposed to shower her with immediate compliments.
These were the fundamental basics of keeping a woman happy, and just as expected... the basics really do work like magic.
A radiant, beautiful smile spread across Andrea’s face. She giggled softly into his chest, her heart fluttering at his instant, unhesitating reply.
With her confidence fully restored and her doubts washed away, she didn’t hesitate for another second.
She made her selection within her mind.
It felt undeniably awkward to form words internally as if she were talking directly to some invisible entity living in her skull. It made her feel like a diagnosed schizophrenic patient having a conversation with thin air, but she toughened through the strange sensation.
’I want to choose Fredrinn Winchester as my bully target.’
The moment her clear mental command was registered, the floating blue window before her eyes reacted.
The shimmering rectangular panel began to twist and ripple like the surface of a disturbed pond. The initial lines of text blurred, wiped clean into pure digital light, and brand-new glowing characters rapidly arranged themselves into crisp, solid letters.
To someone who had spent her whole life as an ordinary civilian and desperately dreamt of awakening alongside the monsters of this world, the spectacle was nothing short of miraculous. It was breathtaking, mesmerizing, and deeply validating!
More than that... the actual text displayed on the fresh screen pushed her excitement to an absolute peak!
[ Bully Target: Fredrinn Winchester. ]
[ You have received a new quest! ]
