My Professions Have Too Much Personality
Chapter 681: Taming the Taixu Residual Spirit? The Soldier Nurturer's Desire
Chapter 681: Chapter 368: Taming the Taixu Residual Spirit? The Soldier Nurturer’s Desire
The three chatted for several hours, mentioning some matters regarding Red Thunder Star. Before leaving, Ming Lin took out a few more letters and departed.
They had just arrived and were already turning back, yet they felt quite delighted. It was inconvenient for Su Chen to make a triumphant return home, so they could only do it on his behalf. That was a Tier Eight Professional. On Red Thunder Star, only the first-generation Chief Judge had reached this level, and that was just a lower-tier profession. But the Sect’s Tier Eight Professionals were guaranteed to be upper-tier professions, making them tyrannically powerful.
After seeing the two off, Su Chen, still gripping the Black Gold Box, turned to glance at the main building before heading toward the Nether Tower.
“Is he going to the Nether Tower? Could he be heading to the Nether Realm?” the Residual Spirit attached to the Morning Star Residue wondered, somewhat surprised. Having spent time on both Qin Yun and Qin Tianlin, he was naturally familiar with the Nether Tower.
He noted, “People from the Bronze Sect usually don’t like going to the Nether Realm. This Su Chen… he’s collecting the Deceitful God’s Power, and now he’s going to the Nether Realm?”
At this point, the Residual Spirit wasn’t in a hurry. Su Chen was already in the bag, anyway. He just wanted to see exactly what this young man was up to.
Pushing open the doors of the Nether Tower, Su Chen stepped inside and closed them behind him. Then, he opened the Black Gold Box in his hands. A faint wisp of red light illuminated the entire Nether Tower.
He glanced down and reached out to pinch the Morning Star Residue. Instantly, text appeared on his interface:
[Morning Star Residue: Left behind after the death of a Morning Star. By integrating it into oneself through special methods, one can extract the Power of the Profession. If the profession is incomplete, additional requirements must be met. Note: A fragmented Spirit Fragment is attached to this item. Please erase it before use.]
Su Chen wondered if it could really extract Professional Abilities. He looked at the description with considerable amazement. Hearsay was one thing, but the text on his interface was what truly convinced him. However, there seemed to be some uncertainty. As for the Residual Spirit attached to it… Su Chen wasn’t surprised at all.
Holding the residue in his hand, he waited for a moment, his brow gradually furrowing.
The Residual Spirit was also puzzled, wondering, “Didn’t Su Chen enter the Nether Tower to go to the Nether Realm? Why is he just staring at the residue? What kind of weird habit is this, needing to examine things inside the Nether Tower?”
He couldn’t understand it.
Waiting and waiting, he noticed that Su Chen made no further moves. While the Residual Spirit was secretly pondering, he realized the young man’s gaze was fixed unblinkingly on the Morning Star Residue. There was no excitement of obtaining a precious treasure in those eyes, nor any curiosity or desire to explore. There was only pure calmness.
He decided, “If he doesn’t make a move soon, I will…”
Although the Residual Spirit wasn’t impatient, his calmness had only stemmed from wanting to figure out Su Chen’s intentions. Naturally, he had no time to waste on this guy.
But right at that moment, Su Chen suddenly spoke. His voice was deep and calm. “Aren’t you going to make a move?”
“Who is he talking to?” Taixu thought. “It’s completely silent in this Nether Tower. Aside from me, there’s only Su Chen. Could it be…”
In an instant, even without a physical form, the Residual Spirit felt a chilling sensation sweep through him. An unbelievable conjecture surfaced in his mind.
“Is he talking to me?”
“Did he discover the Spirit Fragment attached to the Morning Star Residue?”
“How is that possible?!”
Although its Origin was entirely lost, the Spirit Fragment possessed its own inherent Power. Even those Morning Stars couldn’t detect it, so how could Su Chen possibly notice?
The shock brought by Su Chen’s words was truly too immense. The Residual Spirit suppressed his emotions, having no idea how Su Chen had discovered the anomaly on the Morning Star Residue. However, after his brief astonishment, the Residual Spirit felt a growing sense of excitement. After all, the more secrets Su Chen had, the greater the harvest would be.
Su Chen knitted his brows. Looking at the lump of coal that still showed no reaction, he sighed. “Taixu, if you won’t make a move, I will.”
“Tai… Taixu?”
The Residual Spirit shuddered violently, and slight ripples even surfaced on the Morning Star Residue.
“How could he possibly know my name?!”
Monstrous waves of shock surged in the Residual Spirit’s heart. Hearing those two syllables come out of Su Chen’s mouth made him feel as if he had just seen a ghost. Previously, he thought Su Chen merely knew there was an anomaly with the Morning Star Residue. But the name the other party just uttered filled him with utter terror. His name was his deepest hidden secret—something not even Qin Yun knew. Yet, it had been casually exposed by the young man standing before him.
Su Chen’s face remained a picture of calmness, and his gaze even appeared somewhat profound.
“Who on earth is he?” Taixu thought.
After trembling restlessly for a long moment over the name “Taixu,” the Residual Spirit finally noticed faint wisps of Red Gold light radiating from Su Chen’s skin. Behind him, a blurry, faceless figure gradually formed, exuding a radiant, majestic aura.
“This is…”
Startled, he had no choice but to accept reality, no matter how unbelievable it was. All of his schemes seemed to have fallen entirely within Su Chen’s expectations.
He realized, “He already knew about my plot with Qin Yun, and he knew I was attached to the Morning Star Residue! He even entered the Nether Tower just to find a quiet place to deal with me! I wasn’t the one scheming against him—he was the one scheming against me!”
The Residual Spirit was horrified, no longer bothering to wonder how Su Chen had learned all these things. On the Morning Star Residue, threads of light patterns intertwined, slithering like ethereal snakes. They condensed into a stream of purple Flowing Light that pierced directly toward the space between Su Chen’s eyebrows.
Everything happened in a flash.
In the very instant the purple light fully dispersed to merge into Su Chen’s flesh, the space within the Nether Tower abruptly darkened. A palm phantom, glowing like molten gold, reached out from behind and phased right through Su Chen’s body.
Constructed of pure flames and arcs of lightning, the palm contained world-destroying power, yet not a single trace of it leaked out. Striking later but arriving first, it snatched the Flowing Light mid-air.
In the center of the palm, a blindingly bright mass of purple light suddenly exploded, blooming with ferocious intensity.
“Power of Morning Star? Where did this Power of Morning Star come from?!”
