Chapter 674: Chapter 364: 6 on 1?

“How… how did you all get in?” the Prison King asked, collecting himself. In the presence of the other Ancient Kings, it wasn’t the right time to bicker with the Hanhai Emperor.

But before he could even finish his sentence, his expression changed drastically as his gaze fell upon the purple flame resting in the Hanhai Emperor’s hand.

“It’s that Residual Spirit! Damn it! Damn it all!” His Spirit Body was somewhat unstable. Having suffered immense torture in this place, the mere sight of the Residual Spirit sent him into a roaring frenzy.

“Zhen Yu!” the Hanhai Emperor scolded. “Calm down.”

The Prison King’s Spirit Body flickered weakly before he gradually regained his composure. Seeming to realize something, he hurriedly said, “Emperor, you must absolutely not listen to a single word this Residual Spirit says. He is full of lies. The others died here because they fell for his traps.

“That’s why I’m trapped here as well.”

Hearing the Prison King’s words, the expressions of the other Ancient Kings turned rather peculiar, and the Hanhai Emperor let out a soft sigh. Seeing this, the Prison King suddenly realized something and couldn’t help but ask, “Did you all come in here because you listened to him?”

Clearly unwilling to dwell on that subject, the Hanhai Emperor asked, “Tell us what happened after you guys came in earlier. And what exactly is the deal with this Residual Spirit?”

At those words, the Prison King recounted everything that had occurred since they entered, sparing no detail. Finally, he glared viciously at the flame and said, “This Residual Spirit is incredibly insidious. Please obliterate it immediately.”

He had no idea that the flame was now nothing more than an empty shell.

“As expected, this guy is cunning and unpredictable. He likely isn’t something left behind after the Sun’s death. Instead, he bears some resemblance to a Deceitful God. Perhaps he’s connected to the Sun’s demise.” The Ancient Kings weren’t overly surprised by the Prison King’s tale. They had already harbored doubts about the Sun’s true identity, and this merely confirmed their suspicions.

“The Residual Spirit sent us in here probably just to escape. We both got what we wanted,” the Zhenwu Ancient King said, not paying much mind to the revelation. He then asked, “Did you see the person who came in earlier?”

The Prison King hesitated slightly before replying, “I did.”

The Zhenwu Ancient King’s brow furrowed. “What are you hesitating for? You either saw him or you didn’t.”

“Zhenwu,” the Hanhai Emperor said with displeasure. “Zhen Yu has been tortured in this place for a long time. His Spirit Body is unstable. Why are you losing your temper?”

Zhen Yu hurriedly interjected, “That person probably isn’t from the Dust Star Sea. I suspect he comes from the Abyss Realm. He even asked me for information regarding the Dust Star Sea.”

“Did you tell him?” the Hanhai Emperor asked sharply.

The Prison King shook his head repeatedly. “I did not. Although this person tried to tempt me by offering to take me out of here, I didn’t agree to his terms.

“Otherwise, I wouldn’t still be trapped in this place,” he added as further proof.

Only then did the Hanhai Emperor nod in satisfaction.

“Did he gain the Spirit of Sun’s approval?” the Zhenwu Ancient King pressed.

The Prison King nodded, saying hesitantly, “Yes, he did receive its approval. I found it strange as well. The Spirit of Sun has exceedingly strict age requirements. None of us triggered the qualifications for the trial at the time, yet that person somehow bypassed the hard limit.”

With the Prison King confirming the matter once more, everyone’s expressions shifted.

“The Spirit of Sun has an age requirement? That Residual Spirit tricked us.”

“But that person from earlier wasn’t bound by the age limit.”

To say the Residual Spirit had tricked them wasn’t entirely accurate. There was indeed an age requirement, but someone had already broken free of that restriction—and the living proof was right in front of them.

“Wait here. I’m going to give it a try,” Zhenwu said. No longer able to contain his impatience, he shot up into the sky and landed toward the top of the tower.

The Ancient Kings looked up to watch.

Before long, a thunderous BOOM echoed through the air. A massive dragon coiled in the sky materialized, looking down at them with a hint of disgust in its eyes.

A moment later, the Zhenwu Ancient King’s voice rang out, laced with anger. Like rolling thunder, it echoed across the entire space. “Why am I not qualified?”

The Spirit of Sun’s gaze gradually turned sharp and cold. The Flame Power outside the invisible barrier seemed to be drawn by some unseen force, cascading down like a descending fire dragon. The surrounding temperature spiked instantly, causing the Prison King’s Spirit Body to shrink into a tight ball.

The others furrowed their brows. This clearly wasn’t a trial.

“Zhenwu!” the Bronze Ancient King shouted sternly. “Don’t provoke it!”

Soon after, the Zhenwu Ancient King descended, his expression dark. The Spirit of Sun in the sky glared down at the six figures with a warning in its eyes before gradually fading away. The descending Flame Power dissipated along with it.

The Zhenwu Ancient King gritted his teeth and glared at the Prison King. “Why do I lack the qualifications while he doesn’t?!”

The Prison King remained silent, cursing inwardly. How was he supposed to know?

“I’m afraid this matter isn’t so simple,” the Hanhai Emperor said with a slight frown. Reaching out, he grabbed the Prison King’s Spirit Body in his hand. “That Residual Spirit harbored malicious intentions and tricked us into coming here. He must have an ulterior motive. Let’s see if we can get out.”

The group then made their way to the edge of the Flame Fire. With a faint glint in his eyes, the Bronze Ancient King walked straight into it.

A long time later, he returned, his body glowing with a faint crimson hue. Frowning deeply, he said, “It’s too thick. We can’t break through.”

“We can’t break through?” The others knitted their brows. Did this mean they were truly trapped here?

“However,” the Bronze Ancient King added, “if we join forces, we should have a chance to send one or two people out.”

“Send one or two people out?” The group exchanged subtle looks. That was absolutely out of the question. With all of them trapped here, wouldn’t the person sent out be able to do whatever they pleased?

Their Professional Spirituality was still on the outside, after all. But… if they couldn’t get out, the Dust Star Sea probably wouldn’t remain peaceful for long.

“Why the rush to get out?” the Zhenwu Ancient King asked, shaking his head. “The person who intruded earlier will inevitably return. We just need to wait here for him. Once he appears, we can join forces to capture him and see what makes him so special that the Spirit of Sun would make an exception for him.

“Six against one is more than enough to suppress him.”

None of them felt any psychological burden about ganging up on someone. After mulling it over, they all nodded. “It’s the only way.”

“This is the retina of a Time Beast, and this is the tendon of a Flash Shadow Panther…” Ding Fan said, holding up two metal briefcases and presenting them to Su Chen one by one.

After speaking, Ding Fan hesitated slightly. “However, the water from the River of Prophecy is quite tricky to acquire. Only Tier Nine Mental Type Professionals can even see the River of Prophecy, and even then, there’s no guarantee they can bring anything out of it.

“It serves as a medium for many Mental Type rituals, so we’ll need to wait a few more days,” he explained further, showing that he wasn’t slacking off; it was just a genuinely difficult task.

“Then you can hold off on collecting it for now,” Su Chen said, reaching out to take the two items. That supposed river water had already been erased by the Perfect-Level Deceitful God Source Power earlier. He just hadn’t informed Ding Fan about it yet.

“Alright then.” Ding Fan breathed a sigh of relief. Some things were just plain hard to get, and there was nothing he could do about it.

Watching Ding Fan leave, Su Chen glanced at his interface. “Now that I have these two items, the only requirements left for the Shadow Shattering Body are observation and conceptualization.

“Shadow Concealment and extreme speed will be incredibly useful.”

Su Chen was quite looking forward to it. A couple of days ago at the Peak Star Conference, it felt like everyone could see right through him, with his progress entirely laid bare for others to scrutinize. His annoyance was one thing, but he also wanted to avoid trouble. Among the professions forged by this Shadow Shattering Body, there were several that balanced both speed and concealment.

“With none of the Ancient Kings around, hiding from those Morning Stars using a Holy Profession shouldn’t be much of a problem,” Su Chen thought.

He pondered silently. The Ancient Kings wouldn’t be getting out anytime soon, and there was no telling what kind of upheavals would occur in the Dust Star Sea. He had to improve his strength as quickly as possible to handle whatever changes came his way.

Ding Fan’s Flying Device had already vanished from sight. Su Chen was about to leave when he noticed another Flying Device heading toward his location.

“This is…” Su Chen glanced at his wristband, but there were no visit notifications.

Before long, the Flying Device docked at the port. A burly, imposing man stepped out. His facial features bore a vague resemblance to Qin Yun. Speaking with great respect, he bowed slightly and said, “Su Xingzhong, my father invites you to attend a banquet…”
