Chapter 673: Chapter 364: 6 vs 1?

Ni Chuan offered a helpless, bitter smile. “Many people present couldn’t figure it out either.”

“Many people couldn’t figure it out?” Han Xingliu narrowed his eyes, vaguely feeling that there was something strange about those words. “And then?” he asked.

“And then…” Ni Chuan hesitated. “Xiao Linfeng died. The Ancient Kings used him as a sacrifice to open the pathway.”

“Died? Used as a sacrifice?” Han Xingliu was stunned. Based on his understanding of his father, no matter how urgent the situation was, they wouldn’t have just killed Xiao Linfeng on the spot, right?

“It seems there was an accident. The Residual Fire forcibly attempted to sacrifice the Zhenwu Ancient King. Completely ignoring it, the Zhenwu Ancient King directly charged inside. The Emperor seemed somewhat reluctant, but he had no choice but to follow.”

Hearing Ni Chuan’s explanation, Han Xingliu understood.

No wonder the outside world was in such a state. With the Emperor and the Ancient Kings gone, and Xiao Linfeng dead, the Long River Family would likely not let this go easily.

“I see. So no one even cares about the Star Champion anymore.” He couldn’t help but shake his head. Since only Ni Chuan was waiting here, he assumed he was the last to emerge, which meant the title of Star Champion undoubtedly belonged to him.

As for whether he was being taken seriously right now, he didn’t care much.

“About the Star Champion…” Ni Chuan hesitated. Seeing Han Xingliu’s slightly smug expression, he knew exactly what the prince was thinking. But stating the truth directly would surely humiliate His Highness.

After some thought, Ni Chuan had no choice but to bite the bullet and speak. “You’re right. Even though Su Chen took the title of Star Champion, given the current situation, no one really cares…”

“Exactly. This situation is special…” Han Xingliu paused mid-sentence. His expression froze, his pupils trembling. He stared blankly at Ni Chuan, his voice suddenly pitching high. “Who did you say is the Star Champion?”

“Su Chen…” Ni Chuan replied with a helpless, bitter smile.

“How is that possible?” Han Xingliu found it hard to believe. He whipped his head around to look at the Competition Tower. “Isn’t Su Chen still inside?”

“He came out a long time ago.” Ni Chuan sighed inwardly.

“Then… how did he win the Star Champion title?” Han Xingliu’s eyelids twitched. An absurd speculation suddenly surfaced in his mind. Without even realizing it, his voice was already trembling.

Ni Chuan’s gaze grew deeply complicated. “He is already a Tier Seven Professional. He shattered the King’s Shadow in a head-on fight.”

“Tier Seven? Shattered the King’s Shadow? The King’s Shadow can actually be shattered?” Han Xingliu exclaimed in shock. Recalling the torture he had endured himself, he found it unimaginable. So what if Su Chen was Tier Seven?

Under the overwhelming might of the King’s Shadow, he had barely been able to hold on. If Su Chen could shatter it, didn’t that mean Su Chen had the strength to completely crush him?

How could this be possible?!

Pretending not to notice Han Xingliu’s dumbfounded expression, Ni Chuan continued, “Furthermore, because Xiao Linfeng died, to compensate the Long River Family, he was provisionally ranked second. You can only be placed third.”

“Third?” A hollow scoff squeezed out of Han Xingliu’s throat. He didn’t actually care if he was the Star Champion or not; second or third made no difference to him.

But having the Star Champion title—which he was so confident would be his—forcibly snatched away by Su Chen, and then being ranked below a dead man to boot, ignited an uncontrollable fire of stifled frustration within him.

His face flushed beet red. His injuries hadn’t fully healed, and this burst of anger caused his blood to surge. His vision went black, and he swayed on his feet, on the verge of collapsing.

“Your Highness!” Ni Chuan hurriedly reached out to support him.

“I’m fine!” Han Xingliu violently shoved Ni Chuan away and staggered off into the distance.

Meanwhile, in the Flame Space.

“Truly worthy of being the remnants left behind after the Sun’s death. It is indeed extraordinary,” the Zhenwu Ancient King said. He crossed his arms over his chest, looking down from the sky at the distant expanse of palaces. His blazing gaze landed on the pyramid formed by the clustering of numerous palaces.

“Zhenwu!” the Hanhai Emperor rebuked, his face dark. “How could you be so reckless?”

“What do you mean, reckless?” The Zhenwu Ancient King didn’t care in the slightest. “Isn’t this our goal? Since the pathway has been opened and the Spirit of Sun wasn’t enraged, what else is there to hesitate about?”

But the Hanhai Emperor’s expression remained grim. He raised his hand. Although the purple flames were still burning in his palm, he said, “That guy who calls himself the Sun has slipped away.”

At once, several pairs of eyes turned toward him. The Hanhai Emperor continued, “He clearly did it on purpose. He used the urgency of the situation to prevent us from thinking things through carefully, seizing the opportunity to escape.”

He had only realized this after entering, noticing that the flames were completely devoid of anything else. The Hanhai Emperor said coldly, “This Residual Spirit has been hiding things in his words all along. Rushing in here like this, I fear we played right into his hands.”

The Zhenwu Ancient King remained completely unbothered. “If you overthink things so much, why did you follow me in? It’s not like anyone forced you.”

He spoke with a careless, nonchalant tone.

The Hanhai Emperor’s face sank. That was exactly the problem. Although he knew perfectly well that there was likely a trap inside, he didn’t dare gamble on the alternative. He had no choice but to pinch his nose and follow them in.

“Enough. Stop dilly-dallying and putting on airs. Where could that Residual Spirit possibly run off to? We’ll settle the score with him after we get out.

“What about the guy who came in earlier? Why isn’t he here?” As soon as the Zhenwu Ancient King had arrived, he had swept his senses over the entire space but found absolutely nothing.

“He must have already left,” the Profound Celestial Ancient King speculated.

“There is something over there that feels entirely out of place with the rest of this space.” The Star Dome Ancient King’s gaze lowered, landing on a certain palace. With a blur of motion, everyone vanished from their current spot.

Meanwhile, the Prison King, who had been resting in silence, suddenly realized that a group of people had appeared in front of him. Startled at first, he took a closer look and instantly grew thrilled. “Emperor!”

He condensed into a solid form, his expression filled with immense joy.

“Zhen Yu?” the Hanhai Emperor said in surprise. “It’s you.”

“It’s the Prison King.”

The other Ancient Kings were hit with a sudden realization. They finally understood why the Prison King had been comatose this whole time—his spirit, which was supposed to be in a Unity of Spirit and Body, had actually been stripped away.
