My Professions Have Too Much Personality

Chapter 232 - 150: The Uniqueness of the Morning Star Tier

Chapter 232: Chapter 150: The Uniqueness of the Morning Star Tier

Within my perception range, there were hardly any objects or Believers.

Su Chen mused to himself, ’According to the few Judges who rushed back, a fair number of Deceitful God’s Followers made a move this afternoon—Black Tuo, Faceless Ghost, Crimson…’

’I wonder how the mastermind behind this persuaded them. I also wonder if they asked the Black Tuo Followers what that whole thing with reporting Meng Qi was about last time.’

As he thought about this, he switched to his Faceless Ghost Follower state. He could vaguely sense two others nearby; they must be Believers in hiding.

’These guys will be easy to find.’ Su Chen didn’t plan on getting involved personally again.

But there was also an area further out with a particularly strong reaction, which surprised Su Chen.

’The Faceless Ghost has something else hidden, huh? Once the last two Believers are found, I’ll ask Senior Brother Teng Liang to make a trip there with me. If we find any Faceless Ghost power, I can use it to directly fulfill a requirement. That’d be pretty sweet.’

’What excuse should I use? I’ll just say I got a tip. Senior Brother Teng Liang won’t ask too many questions anyway.’

Su Chen considered this. He was getting more and more familiar with Teng Liang and was finding his senior brother to be pretty easygoing. Ruthless, but a man of few words.

Lying in bed, he couldn’t fall asleep no matter how he tried, so he decided to head down to the Gravity Chamber.

’Thirty times?’ Su Chen glanced at the setting on the Gravity Chamber. ’This is Senior Brother Teng Liang’s training standard? Didn’t he force his advancement into a Tier Five Profession? I thought he couldn’t develop it any further.’

’I almost forgot, he can still take on special professions.’

With that thought, Su Chen adjusted the setting to fifteen times gravity, the maximum he could currently withstand.

He set the Spirit Realm Instrument aside and began his workout.

He wasn’t needed for the next few days as the Judicial Court continued its sweep. It only took three days to root out the remaining two Believers.

Everyone inside the Judicial Court had to undergo screening in the morning and evening. It was immediately obvious if anyone was missing. Combined with an inch-by-inch search of the grounds, there was nowhere for them to hide.

The Judicial Court lifted its lockdown, and the large number of Judges stationed outside were finally able to return.

Many of them were still at a loss, unaware of what had happened.

All of Ying Feng was abuzz with speculation, everyone trying to guess what had happened inside the Judicial Court to warrant a lockdown of five or six days.

“Holy crap… Chief Judge Wei is dead?” The first thing Ming Lin did upon his return was find Su Chen at his “new home,” his expression grim.

His old place hadn’t been repaired yet, so the Judicial Court had moved him. Su Chen didn’t mind; the layouts of these villas were all basically identical anyway.

Ming Lin pressed him, “What exactly happened? You were the only Core Seed in the Judicial Court at the time, you have to know something.”

“The medical center was practically a ruin by the time I got there. How the hell would I know?” Su Chen said, shaking his head.

“What a turbulent time,” Ming Lin lamented. “Still, you managed to stand out again. I heard you found Meng Qi that same afternoon.”

Su Chen sighed. “They got right up in my face. If Senior Brother Teng Liang hadn’t shown up when he did, I might have been in trouble myself.”

“That’s true,” Ming Lin said, thinking for a moment in complete agreement. His eyes darted around, and he added with a grin, “I did hear, though, that as soon as Wei Yufan got back, he was summoned by the Chief and got a serious tongue-lashing.”

“Xiao Ying was probably involved in Judge Wei’s death. They’re missing, presumed dead.”

Su Chen didn’t comment. Having failed to get any juicy gossip, Ming Lin left in disappointment.

Su Chen tidied up a bit, then left the now-reopened Judicial Court and headed for the Translation Department.

He had arranged to meet Sang Hanhai long ago. The man was waiting for him in the lounge of the laboratory building.

The moment Sang Hanhai saw him, he leaned in, lowered his voice, and asked gravely, “I heard something happened to Wei Yinsuo?”

“Yes.” After a moment’s thought, Su Chen nodded. “He’s most likely dead.”

“So it’s true.” Sang Hanhai sighed deeply. “I heard the rumors, but I found them hard to believe. Inside the Judicial Court, of all places… And a Chief Judge, no less.”

Su Chen remained silent. Sang Hanhai continued in a solemn tone, “I never liked the man. He was far too ambitious and calculating, even in his youth. But he was, for all that, one of the pillars of Ying Feng.”

“The Deceitful God Sect is getting more and more audacious.”

After his lament, Sang Hanhai said, “You mentioned before that you wanted to come and study. My hands are mostly free now, so I can teach you.”

“Er…” Su Chen’s eyes darted away. ’That was just an excuse to avoid Wei Yinsuo. Now that he’s gone for good, what the hell is the point of studying?’

Seeing his reaction, Sang Hanhai snorted. “I knew it. ’Studying’ was just a pretext. What are you really after, you little rascal? Out with it.”

“I was hoping you could give me an analysis on how to choose a Tier Four Profession,” Su Chen said with a wry smile.

Sang Hanhai was rather surprised. “Even if you’re preparing ahead of time, isn’t this a little fast? Have you already developed both your professions to the mid-stage?”

“More or less,” Su Chen responded.

“The Ink Jade Talent is lacking…” Sang Hanhai couldn’t help but sigh, then glanced at him again. “Tell me, what are your Tier Three Professions?”

“For the Physical Side, it’s the one you suggested last time. For the Spiritual Side, it’s Secret Weaver,” Su Chen said.

“Both Tier Three Upper?” Sang Hanhai eyed him suspiciously. “How is it I heard some people say you’re a Triple Tier Double Top?”

“Er… my teacher told me not to talk about it,” Su Chen said awkwardly, blaming it all on Old Xia.

“Xia Hanshi…” Sang Hanhai sneered, but he was satisfied with Su Chen’s response. At least the boy didn’t stubbornly deny it.

He wasn’t surprised that Xia Hanshi would have a Tier Three Top-level Profession to offer.

“Fine, I’ll base my analysis on the two professions you mentioned, then.” Sang Hanhai crossed his legs. “The Upper-tier Profession for Secret Weaver is the Secret Law Traveler. You definitely won’t be satisfied with that.”

“In that case, we’ll have to aim for a more difficult profession… The Secret Weaver excels at using Spiritual Ability to control Elemental Power.” Sang Hanhai paused in thought.
