Chapter 2950: Chapter 982: When It Comes to Naval Battles, I’m No Good; When It Comes to Hack-and-Slash, You’re Out (Serious Face) (3)
Claire, the secret to doing business is seizing opportunities. I know deep down this little hoof of yours has always wanted to return to the mainstream of Vampire Society, but you need to be cautious.
After all, Murphy hasn’t named a price yet, and if we just approach him like this, it might make us appear too eager..."
"Captain! The ’Black Blade’ is on fire!"
As the captain and the first mate were enjoying a rare moment of warmth between them, an old pirate wrapped in a turban shouted from the lookout on the mainmast:
"Those damn Wolf People are barbecuing on the deck, and they’ve set our ship on fire!"
"Damn!"
Babro snapped out of his pleasant mood immediately, handed the helm to the first mate, and swiftly climbed up the ropes like a monkey to take out his telescope and look back.
Indeed, within the view of the telescope, smoke was rising from the ship at the end of the fleet, with shadows of flames flickering.
"What the hell are you all doing!"
Babro angrily grabbed his Calculating Pearl and cursed at the captain of the Black Blade:
"How did it catch fire so suddenly?"
"It’s all those Grey Wolf Army Wolf People messing around, Captain, it’s not my fault."
The captain of the Black Blade was even angrier than Babro, he shouted:
"Those dogs were hiding in the cabin enjoying tobacco, and accidentally started the fire. The fire is under control now, but I swear I’ll hang those bastards on the mast!"
"Forget it, they’re Immortal, they’d just use it as a chance to ridicule your poor hanging skills."
Babro felt tired and helpless all of a sudden.
This trip, besides going ’treasure hunting’ on that small island as requested by Murphy, his second task was to deliver two thousand elite Grey Wolf Army soldiers to Charles Harbor, representing the Kingdom of Jackal people to support the Half-body men.
Captain Popok and his NPCs were easy to handle; they knew they weren’t skilled at naval battles and did whatever the pirates asked. But the Grey Wolf Army players were troublesome, with frequent similar incidents caused mostly by these players over the past few days.
Just on the day of departure, the Fure Immortal almost blew up the ammunition depot of the Plunderer while handling the cannonballs, causing Babro to hang him on the mast in anger.
But that guy wasn’t afraid at all; even while suffocating, he was sharing ’the feeling of being hanged’ on a forum, providing valuable material for a few self-proclaimed intern forensic doctors there.
At first, Babro was excited to open Blood Fear Fleet to players for Murphy, but after truly interacting with these landlubbers, Bloody Captain wished he could gouge his eyes out to avoid watching these guys’ ridiculous actions at sea.
He swore he would never let these amateurs join his Pirate Fleet.
He couldn’t afford to lose face!
"Whatever, we’re almost at our destination. Once we deliver these grandmasters to Charles Harbor, our job is done."
Babro said tiredly to the captain of the Black Blade:
"You better not just stay in the captain’s cabin drinking, at least teach them the rules at sea... Damn! Something’s climbing up the side of your ship, looks like Wave Fishmen! Damn it! Sound the battle alarm!
Quick!
There are Merfolk down in the sea, lots of them!"
With his telescope infused with Spiritual Energy, Bloody Captain quickly spotted the danger, and under his command, the whole fleet quickly shifted into battle mode. But the Wave Fishmen emerging from below were clearly prepared, climbing onto the decks of seven ships while shouting various degenerate words before the pirates could throw their depth charges.
The scale of this attack left Babro somewhat shocked.
His fleet had already sailed into the central area between the Ligurian Peninsula and Castilla Peninsula, a region developed and civilized for hundreds of years. Usually, there were no large clans of Wave Fishmen here, but this invasion scale made him feel like he had suddenly returned to the savage seas deep in the Misty Sea.
"Why are there so many fish people here?"
Babro shouted, swinging to the aft deck, standing back to back with Claire who had already killed several fish people, as the storm brought by the fish people’s Abyss Walkers rolled over the night sea with thunder.
In that flashing and thundering background, Bloody Captain shouted:
"What’s going on with this Armastasha Fleet! How can they allow so many dangerous things in their territorial waters? Damn it! Damnation on their beloved legs! These adorable little elves’ negligence is about to send us poor pirates to Hell."
"Action! Action! Brothers, grab your weapons! We’ve been drifting at sea for four days and are going insane. Now there’s finally fun to be had!"
Amid Babro’s foul language, sharp chaos erupted from below the deck of the Plunderer.
Seconds later, under Babro’s and Claire’s astonished gaze, the Grey Wolf Army players charged onto the deck, clashing with the numerous Wave Fishmen in a display of excitement, joy, and frenzy.
These guys were so ferocious, wildly crashing and chopping down dozens of fish people at their first encounter, leaving the old sea dogs who were poised for a death battle dumbfounded.
"Boarding! Boarding!"
Fure Immortal, freshly respawned this morning, grabbed a rope intending to mimic a movie scene, making a stylish leap to support the nearby ship, but upon jumping out, the wet rope lacked friction, swinging him right into the sea. After two shrill flaps, he was dragged below the waves by the fish men in the now blackened sea, never to be seen again.
"Damn it! This bunch of idiots... when boarding, at least choose the right direction..."
Babro hopelessly covered his eyes.
But right beside him, Deputy Claire stretched her body with glowing eyes, knowing that with the mad players’ help, today’s battle would surely be won!
