Chapter 2925: Chapter 975: Murphy’s Wrath—Darkness and Depths (Part 2)

In response to Murphy’s inquiry, he warned:

"Aurora told me, after the explosion in the Eden District, the device created by the creator specifically to counter such threats automatically activated. Although beings like the Lord of Darkness, Nightmare Tyrant, and Winter Crone ended up in different locales physically, the source of their seals remains within a relic in the Eden District.

The location should be somewhere in the Grey Desert.

Beneath that desert lie many secrets, and the Land of Holy Blood is there too. Therefore, during this execution of the Holy Blood Seal, we can detour there for a look.

Before then, don’t engage in further dialogue with Verdia!

That fellow, before transforming into an Old God, was the most outstanding Curse Mage among the Goat Men, and during the Eden District era, it was among the first pioneers in studying Spiritual Energy. To this day, I don’t know how it accomplished ascension to godhood.

But if it wasn’t through gathering faith, then it proves it has carved a path no one has ever walked before, also proving the danger of ’King of all curses.’

"Alright, I understand."

Murphy nodded and said:

"In that case, let us handle the matters on the Ligurian Peninsula first. I need to head over to the Transylvania Expeditionary Force’s base, you go ahead."

With that, the Vampire Lord performed a farewell gesture and turned to leave.

Yet, just as he reached the door, he suddenly turned back and said:

"Respected Lord, are you sure Duke Constantin is truly dead?"

"I have answered this question countless times, Murphy!"

The respected Lord was somewhat angry.

Perhaps this question reminded him of the "less than amicable" exchange he had with Old Edward earlier. Seeing the Lord angry, Murphy vanished instantly.

The room’s door closed again, and at the moment the lock clicked, the Lord clenched his fist and then released it, looking at the traces of blood on the ground, recalling how Old Edward crazily questioned him for the answer.

He sat down again, pressing hard on his brow, sighing inwardly:

"Fair enough, you sinful woman... look at all the trouble you’ve caused! You left your mess for me, now how am I supposed to tell them the truth that must be forgotten?

Alas...

Edward’s life has been ruined by you."

Elsewhere, Murphy spread his wings and flew towards the Expeditionary Force’s base at dawn.

He skimmed through Edward’s diary. Although not much ink was spent on Duke Constantius McWayen, every mention of her in the diary carried an overwhelming scent of adoration.

"Dead?"

Reading through Old Edward’s blood-ink-like entries, Murphy scoffed inwardly at the answer the Lord tried so hard to maintain.

"No way in hell!"

He commented.

Now Murphy was almost certain; that peculiar smile Lady Constantius showed towards the camera in ancient memories was definitely hiding some kind of intent. In the most extreme case, perhaps that peculiar smile was a hint spanning millennia meant for the current Murphy...

Though it sounded absurd, based on what this lady had done in the last Era, she was like a super-enhanced version of Triss.

The Crimson Witch managed to survive after being backstabbed by Salockdale, and no matter how one looked at it, Duke Constantius, who was several times more formidable than Triss, couldn’t have left no contingency plan.

Murphy deduced that this might be related to the Lord.

After all, in that calamity, the Lord was the last to see Constantius, maybe there was some hell of a secret pact between them.

"Perhaps I should swiftly find the current Duke of the Clan of Secret Blood and take her to the Swamp Forbidden Area to complete the binding!"

Murphy thought:

"In doing so, through those ancient memories engraved in DNA, maybe I can uncover the hidden stories of Lady Constantius. As for Old Edward, that guy is love-crazed...

I don’t believe the Twilight wouldn’t have tempted him with this matter.

In the worst-case scenario, perhaps Duke Wolfsbane is already an... honorary member of that organization?"

His mind spun in countless loops; even upon reaching the base, he hadn’t arrived at a sound conclusion.

However, as Murphy landed, he had no time to ponder these further because he found himself in the midst of an attack on the Expeditionary Force’s base by Wolf People.

Overwhelmed by the grudges from millennia past, Murphy simply abandoned thought, and with a reverse grip, drew out the Justifiable Evil and Solar Blade, executing a stunning landing kill as he joined the fray, simultaneously for the first time activating his "Midnight Echo" aura acquired upon achieving silver.

A stream of Blood Spirit luminescence radiated from around Murphy, flooding within a 120-yard radius like mercury.

While the players didn’t feel much, all vampires including Maxim on the scene saw the world turn scarlet in that instant, the Bloodthirsty equipment forcibly activated, yet the dark allure of blood bore no fruit, as if a wrathful warrior maintained a terrifying calm.

But this was just an opening move.

Bathed in Murphy’s aura, fragmented images flickered before Maxim’s eyes.

Allowing him to witness the destruction of the Eden District firsthand, perhaps because Murphy unlocked new fragments from Edward’s memory again. In any case, Maxim almost experienced the destruction of a Golden Era in an instant.
