Chapter 2912: Chapter 971: Bro, These Wolf People Don’t Smell Right!
Old Qu, who was saved from the filthy overlord’s clutches in a "beauty saves the hero" manner, didn’t lose himself in Captain Mia’s demeanor as an iron-blooded beauty. He merely restrained himself and congratulated Mia before rejoining the battle.
Under the bombardment of the Iron Fist Missile just now, the body of the Jackalman General, which had already undergone severe transformation, was blown to pieces. However, much like a disgusting "Flesh Slime," instead of stopping, it tore through the flames and smoke in a "Second Stage Transformation" pose, baring its fangs and claws as it lunged again.
It was truly real, baring fangs and claws.
Its body, with three irregularly-sized monstrous mouths and bizarre blood claws growing haphazardly like a cactus, made one’s sanity drop just at a glance. Even less demanding players were unwilling to engage this thing in close combat.
So, Brother Qu adopted a smart tactic, pulling Lieutenant Mia back into the air to begin attacking the supporting stone pillars of the factory’s second floor with explosives.
The two hunters—one with wings, the other with a flight backpack—exploited their agility to the fullest. In mere minutes, three of those pillars had been taken down, and as the second floor platform showed signs of collapse, Brother Qu immediately reminded on the player channel:
"Retreat! Leave the central position in front of the factory; the second-stage boss is coming down!"
"What what what?"
Below, Xugou was holding onto an Iron Hammer Guard, collecting heads and was dumbfounded. He was surprised that such a randomly respawning battlefield mission could spawn a boss?
Nevertheless, players always react quickly. Within a dozen seconds after Brother Qu finished warning, the area below the platform about to collapse had been cleared. As an Iron Fist Missile struck the third stone pillar, amidst the roar of shattered stone slabs and flying dust, the deformed Filthy Jackal People Overseer plummeted to the ground.
Unfortunately, struck square in the head by a stone slab, it shattered its skull and sprayed black filth, unleashing a nauseating stench throughout the factory. A group of players who initially intended to engage in melee combat shrank back, pinching their noses and retreating screaming.
This thing is too stinky...
Even after adjusting the game’s sensory settings to the lowest, that peculiar stench still pierced through like a mental attack, making every player who smelled it lose their appetite for dinner.
This is definitely not normal.
This bizarre smell has surpassed the concept of "odor"; it should be one of the manifestations of the dark forces this Jackalman has received, reflected in the material world.
"Close combat fighters, fall back!"
Old Qu swooped down from the sky, took hold of the Cannibal Demon’s Hammer, and fired a shot at the claws flying out from the filth, blasting the substance covered in black "slime" in mid-air, and he shouted at the surrounding players:
"Use long-range attacks! Deploy explosives! Brothers with faith as a side job, start preparing purification spells. If that doesn’t work, use fire! The teachings of Avalon Church describe that flames can suppress evil spirits."
Under his command, the players immediately searched for advantageous terrain and launched the second wave of attacks. Flying bullets and tossed grenades repeatedly struck the monster, with small barrels booming in the distance.
In the players’ view, this sanity-draining entity has some kind of regeneration mechanism; once the accumulated damage reaches a certain level, its health bar recovers, and its form becomes even more hideous and abstract. However, Brother Qu, worthy of being Avalon’s Church’s Witch-hunting Master, proved his strategy effective.
Players with faith side jobs always deal "real damage" when hitting the creature with low-level divine arts.
Even the simplest "Arrow of Nature" creates a similar "annihilation" effect upon hitting the monster, burning some of its filthy flesh into ash, and continuously compressing its health bar limit under such attacks.
Players are never afraid of how strong the enemy is. As long as there are weaknesses to exploit, they are always able to complete combat tasks quickly and efficiently.
Now, gathered in the factory’s front area fighting the boss, the task of clearing the factory fell to the People’s Army Hunters and the Shield Dwarfs who had come to support. The filthy jackalmen in the factory had varying degrees of transformation, but most only accumulated the extent of dark forces and were far from reaching the level of this overseer.
However, under the players’ complete "excessive bombardment" and fire suppression, the overseer’s body continuously transformed into an unnameable mass of flesh, completely losing its mobility, becoming a shooting target.
Players even began spontaneously competing in DPS, striving to showcase their output capabilities.
This "output test" continued until Old Qu released an ultra-wide-range Avalon Purification Divine Skill in a kneeling posture.
As one of the earliest players to follow Meow Brother into the Avalon Church, after breaking through the silver tier, he naturally completed the high-level career change of "Master of Prey." Besides learning various new skills, divine arts were naturally not neglected.
Although not a professional spellcaster, faith users on this continent directly drawing divine power to battle means there is no such clear-cut professional system division.
As the Witch-hunting Master, Brother Qu certainly knew how to use divine arts for purification, he just seldom used it typically, when necessary, he could even wrap each bullet he fired with Avalon’s natural power.
