Chapter 2911: Chapter 970: You Said You’d Pick Up Girls, So Why Are You Just Showing Off Here? (Part 3)
Even if they managed to dodge the missile barrage and got close to the walker, those dark jackal warriors would be easily sliced apart by the spring-loaded mechanical scythes; the dragon cavalry in the forefront also opened flamethrowers, setting the jackalmen ablaze with erupting fires as the chassis rotated, while the gnolls were already scattering and fleeing in terror.
In the farther distance, those Transia people were remarkably brave.
They advanced along the left path, meeting stubborn resistance from the jackalmen, only to have warriors drink victory wine and charge forward to explode themselves upon the enemy. An eerie black light would sweep through, devouring all foes in front of them. No jackalmen could halt their advance by relying on this fearlessness that was so intimidating.
The People’s Army hunters displayed a completely different style.
Cold, efficient, and united, like a pack of hunting wolves under the night sky, a coordinated burst of gunfire, both long and short, would turn those foolish and brutish foes into sieves, including that aloof Vampire Captain.
She was stationed at a high point with a remarkably large gun, each firing shot detaching the head of a jackalman captain from its body. She had no interest in hunting ordinary barbarians, like the deadliest blood-edged weapon, only striking at worthy targets.
This was indeed identical in style to the operation of the human major flying above.
"No wonder they were able to defeat hundreds of thousands of jackalmen in Transia; such fighting strength and battle intent have proven them to be true warriors of valor."
Tuck praised from atop his gryphon and then led the sky cavalry to continue their bombing, covering the advancing ground soldiers.
With three forces attacking simultaneously and aerial support, the jackalmen in the town were momentarily stunned.
And when they prepared to regroup to reclaim the battle line, the three dragon knights had already charged toward the factory road, beginning a frenzied slaughter. The ground troops that successfully converged were advancing under the cover of the dragon knights.
Brother Qu, seeing everything proceeding smoothly, breathed a sigh of relief. He piloted his exoskeleton toward the factory, aiming to find a perfect vantage point to support the ground troops. But just as Brother Qu approached the factory, a glass canopy on top suddenly shattered, and a ferocious bipedal dragon leapt out.
Like a hunting stance, it grasped Brother Qu’s unprepared body with its claws. The sharp talons were blocked by the exoskeleton, but the bipedal dragon’s venom almost poured directly onto Brother Qu’s head.
Fortunately, Brother Qu always had the habit of wearing a helmet, and as a silver ranker, his armor was top-notch, capable of resisting the venom’s corrosion. Also, activated by his quick-draw talent, he drew out the replica ord Coert from his waist and fired four shots at the bipedal dragon during high-altitude spins, forcing the beast to retreat.
But the spinning, falling stall left Brother Qu unable to pull himself back into the air, facing the glass canopy below, he could only curl up his limbs and crashed into it.
In the loud commotion, he fell awkwardly into the upper levels of the factory. Barely getting up, a black blade slashed down before him. Old Qu used his arm’s exoskeleton to block, sparks flying everywhere as he was smashed away by the immense force, his Cannibal Demon’s Hammer spinning off to another side.
He gasped for breath, one hand gripping the gun, the other pulling out his protective dagger.
Before him stood a hulking Jackalman General, definitely a silver ranker, and seemingly corrupted by foul forces that had invaded its mind; even its body had begun grotesque mutations. Its belly was torn open by a foul-smelling mouth full of teeth, with snake-like intestines spewing green venom.
The sight made Brother Qu almost yue.
But he knew it was time to fight for his life; all he needed was to retrieve his gun...
"Bang"
The instant the monstrous, filthy jackalman lunged at Brother Qu, a muffled thud sounded overhead.
The creature before him was hit in the eye and retreated screaming in high temperature akin to dragon breath spraying. Brother Qu raised his head to see Lieutenant Mia flapping her wings landing on the shattered rooftop overhead; at that moment, Old Qu’s heart started pounding wildly again.
But he knew now wasn’t the time for passion. He activated his flight backpack into overload mode and collided, knocking the blinded monster jackalman several meters away, then turned back to retrieve his fallen gun and ascended to a higher position again.
When the creature roared and lunged again, it met two specially crafted Cannibal Demon’s Hammer and the coordinated sniper kill of two elite hunters, as the players breached the factory gates and killed their way inside, Brother Qu and Captain Mia also completed a spectacular hunt, exterminating the filthy aberration in the explosion of Iron Fist Missiles.
"Are you okay?"
In the backdrop of bursting flames, Captain Mia turned and asked.
Old Qu looked at her, initially intending to go for a victorious hug, but he forcibly restrained the impulse.
Mia wasn’t one to enjoy surprises like a young girl; doing so would only make her feel he lacked composure. So, in the explosion of flames, Brother Qu struck a cool pose with an OK sign, and said:
"Piece of cake, now your gun can add another blood star."
