My Pervert Sytem
Chapter 145: The Aftermath and the New Order
The dense cloud of pulverized marble slowly settled over the ruined center of the Tribunal Hall.
The Royal Chamberlain was completely gone, reduced to a gruesome stain against the cracked stone wall by the localized gravity trap.
The sheer calculated brutality of the assassination left a heavy, suffocating silence hanging in the air.
Leon stood near the edge of the blast crater, his sharp midnight eyes scanning the high vaulted ceilings.
The Imperial Executioner had vanished without a trace, utilizing a spatial shadow technique that bypassed his advanced tracking senses.
The true puppet master pulling the strings of the capital remained hidden deep within the inner keep.
Seraphina did not waste a single second dwelling on the escaped killer. The silver-haired warlord stepped forward, her boots crunching loudly over the shattered stone.
The brilliant crimson glow of her Grandmaster core flared aggressively, casting long intimidating shadows across the terrified faces of the remaining nobles.
"The Chamberlain is dead," Seraphina announced, her voice ringing out with flawless aristocratic authority. "His treason has been exposed. The economic quarantine on the capital is officially lifted."
A few brave lords slowly stood up from behind their overturned wooden benches.
They stared at the bloody remains of the highest bureaucratic official in the empire, their political calculations rewriting themselves in real-time.
An elderly duke wearing gold-trimmed robes cautiously stepped down the aisle.
"Lady Seraphina... the inner palace is still locked down. The Emperor’s condition—"
"The Emperor’s condition is none of your concern right now," Seraphina interrupted coldly. She pointed toward the heavy black ledger resting safely in Beatrice’s hands. "You will convene an emergency council of the neutral houses. You will strip every single Chamberlain loyalist of their rank. House Sterling is taking command of the city’s defense grid."
The elderly duke swallowed hard, nervously glancing at the towering brute standing behind the noblewoman.
Leon rested his blunt steel weapon casually against his broad shoulder, projecting a silent, terrifying promise of extreme violence if anyone dared to argue.
"It will be done, my lady," the duke bowed deeply, completely submitting to the new apex predator of the capital.
Julian Avgar stepped out from the protective circle of Beatrice and Elara.
The scrawny boy stared at the ruined podium, a complicated mixture of profound relief and lingering sorrow washing over his dirty face.
His family had finally received justice, even if it came from the twisted hand of a Syndicate assassin covering their own tracks.
Leon rested a heavy, comforting hand on the young noble’s shoulder.
"You did well today, Julian," Leon stated quietly. "Your testimony broke the dam. House Avgar will be restored."
Julian nodded frantically, wiping a stray tear from his cheek.
He had placed his life in the hands of this terrifying faction, and they had delivered exactly what they promised.
Isolde Vane walked slowly toward the crater, her bright green eyes tracking the residual dark mana clinging to the crushed marble.
The Emerald Knight kept her hand resting on her rapier, her strict military mind trying to process the sheer scale of the conspiracy.
"The Executioners killed him to silence him," Isolde murmured, stopping beside Leon. "They did not want us interrogating him about the ’vessel’ comment."
"The Emperor is compromised," Leon agreed, keeping his voice low so the panicking politicians could not eavesdrop. "The madness Julian’s father witnessed was likely a side effect of whatever dark ritual the true mastermind is conducting inside the throne room."
"This changes everything," Isolde breathed, her political worldview completely shattered. "If the Emperor falls, the Obsidian Kingdom of Vaeloria will launch their naval invasion within the month. The entire continent will burn."
"Let them bring their boats," Seraphina countered, walking back to join her strike team. Her violet eyes burned with endless confidence. "We will drown them in the harbor. But first, we secure our territory."
The silver-haired woman turned to the beautiful information broker. Valeriana was currently leaning against a stone pillar, still wrapped tightly in Leon’s tailored suit jacket.
The spy looked incredibly shaken, but her calculating mind was already spinning new webs.
"Valeriana, you are officially under Sterling protection," Seraphina commanded. "Use your surviving underworld contacts to root out any remaining Syndicate safehouses. I want them bled dry."
Valeriana offered a weak, highly uncharacteristic nod. She looked up at Leon, a complicated flicker of deep romantic tension flashing in her dark eyes before she melted into the fleeing crowds to begin her new assignment.
With the political hierarchy of the Tribunal forcibly rearranged, the strike team finally turned to leave the massive domed hall.
The walk back to the Sterling estate was a triumphant march.
The imperial guards stationed along the avenues took one look at the pristine crimson aura radiating from Seraphina and instantly dropped to their knees in submission.
Word of the Chamberlain’s brutal demise was already spreading like wildfire through the merchant districts.
They passed through the heavy iron gates of the manor, the Vanguard knights saluting sharply as they entered the secure courtyard.
The chaotic tension of the day finally began to bleed away, replaced by the deep, lingering exhaustion of fighting high-tier Grandmasters and collapsing ancient aqueducts.
Leon handed his dark steel blade to a terrified stable boy, instructing him to polish the metal.
He rolled his thick neck, feeling a satisfying pop in his vertebrae. The capital belonged to them now.
He turned toward Isolde, who was lingering near the courtyard fountain. The Emerald Knight looked entirely out of place in the rival estate, her green tabard contrasting sharply with the silver lion crests draped over the walls.
"You guided us through the checkpoints perfectly, Lady Isolde," Leon noted, stepping smoothly into her personal space.
Isolde stiffened, her posture snapping into a rigid military stance. She refused to back away, even as his imposing frame cast a heavy shadow over her.
"I honored our temporary alliance, Warden," Isolde replied, her voice attempting to remain strictly professional. "House Vane does not support treason. We did what was necessary for the empire."
Leon smiled a slow, devastating grin. He leaned down just a fraction, ensuring his magnetic gaze locked onto her vibrant green eyes.
"I believe you are forgetting something far more important than imperial politics," Leon murmured softly. "You lost a wager outside the Tribunal doors."
Isolde’s breath hitched erratically. Her pale cheeks instantly flooded with a brilliant, furious red flush. She remembered the scandalous bet perfectly. He had cleared two dozen heavily armed guards in eight seconds.
"I owe you a private dinner," she whispered, the words tasting like forbidden honey on her tongue.
"Tonight. Here at the estate," Leon commanded smoothly, ignoring the fierce rivalry that dictated they should be slitting each other’s throats. "Leave the heavy armor at home, Isolde. I want to see the woman hiding underneath the knight."
Before she could formulate a proper, dignified rejection, Leon turned and walked up the grand marble steps, leaving the flustered aristocrat staring at his broad back with a chaotic storm of undeniable hunger brewing in her chest.
