Chapter 153 105: The Sisters Compete to Score Points, Jiangg Ning is Full of Temptation
Jiangg Ning muttered softly in Chen Yuan’s ear.
“I never realized you were so lively.”
“Then you can take your time discovering it, Jiangg.”
“You sweet-talker. I’ll deal with you later!” Jiangg Ning shot him a glare.
“Really? How are you planning on rewarding me?”
…
It was ten o’clock at night. From their seat in the car, they could faintly see the Shengjing Hotel building towering in the distance. It was only a few hundred meters away—just around the corner.
But they were stuck in traffic.
Up ahead, there had clearly been a traffic accident, and the entire street was at a complete standstill.
After waiting for over ten minutes, the driver—an older woman—suggested she give them a discount. She figured it would be at least half an hour before the traffic cleared and said they’d be better off getting out and walking the rest of the way.
Chen Yuan asked for Jiangg Ning’s opinion and readily agreed.
The two of them got out of the car and jogged the rest of the way, pulling their suitcases behind them. By the time they reached the hotel lobby entrance, tiny droplets of water clung to their hair, and their jackets were damp.
Seeing the handsome young man and beautiful woman approach, the receptionist greeted them politely. “Hello, sir. Do you have a reservation?”
“Yes,” Chen Yuan said, pulling out his phone and showing it to the receptionist. “Is this it?”
“That’s the one!”
The receptionist’s eyes instantly lit up.
A top-tier suite!
She looked at Chen Yuan in surprise. He looked like a young student—tall, but with a boyish face. He was quite handsome.
‘I didn’t expect him to be a rich kid.’
But her gaze soon shifted to Jiangg Ning, and she was stunned all over again. She quickly averted her eyes from Chen Yuan.
‘They’re clearly a couple. I shouldn’t be so brazen about checking him out right in front of her.’
“Here is your room key, sir. And could you please check if this young lady’s registration information is correct?”
“Alright.”
“Please leave your luggage here; someone will bring it up to your room for you shortly. Also, if you need anything at all, feel free to give us a call. All services are complimentary.”
As she spoke, a young man in a uniform came over and took their suitcases.
Jiangg Ning and Chen Yuan stepped into the guest elevator. Inside the narrow space…
She asked curiously, “I didn’t look closely when you were booking the hotel. I only realized after we arrived that you booked the Shengjing. A top-tier suite can’t be cheap.”
“I didn’t know which one was good, so I just picked the most expensive one,” Chen Yuan said with a shrug, seemingly unconcerned.
‘Of course he wasn’t concerned. It wasn’t his money he was spending.’
“You didn’t have to be so extravagant. A regular hotel would have been fine.”
“It’s fine. This is our first trip together; it’s a special occasion. Of course, everything has to be perfect.”
Jiangg Ning was a little surprised. She didn’t know anything about Chen Yuan’s family background, but she thought she’d heard him mention he was from a small county town.
‘Could his family be some kind of local business owners back in his small town?’
But judging by Chen Yuan’s demeanor, he didn’t seem like the kind of guy who was raised by the nouveau riche.
Now she was getting a little curious.
A room at the Shengjing Hotel had to be at least 5,000 yuan a night, and a top-tier suite wouldn’t be any cheaper. The night before their trip, Jiangg Ning had wanted to transfer money to Chen Yuan but held back out of consideration for a man’s pride.
Her plan was to let Chen Yuan handle the payments, while she would be the one footing the bill.
But Chen Yuan had flatly refused, telling her not to worry about money at all.
‘The hotel only cost this much,’ Chen Yuan calculated silently in the elevator. ‘By the time we leave, there’s going to be a lot left over from that one hundred fifty thousand… Spending all this money is actually a real headache.’
‘There’s no way I can spend it all!’
‘This is so stressful.’
No sooner had Jiangg Ning and Chen Yuan gone up to the ninth floor, than five minutes later, another woman entered the hotel lobby. She was a mysterious figure in a black trench coat, dragging a suitcase. She was completely bundled up, wearing not only sunglasses and a hat, but even a scarf.
That was a truly rare sight in Sanya.
The receptionist was taken aback.
“Miss, do you have a reservation?”
“Oh, yes, I do,” the woman in the black trench coat replied. She shook the raindrops from her scarf and pulled her phone out of her small purse.
“Of course. I’ll get you checked in right away.”
The young receptionist smiled politely, stealing a few extra glances at the woman.
‘She was a little puzzled. You could tell at a glance that the woman had a great presence, but why was she bundled up so tightly? Could she be a celebrity?’
It wouldn’t be the first time a celebrity had stayed at the Shengjing Hotel.
“Dammit, I’m dead tired! Dragging my luggage all the way here… I think my shoulder’s bruised!”
The woman in the trench coat’s fingers flew across her screen as she sent a message to a contact named “Big Sis.”
「Meanwhile, on the ninth floor.」
Just before they entered the room, Jiangg Ning felt her phone vibrate in her pocket. She pulled it out, and a smile touched her lips as she read the message.
“A little exercise is good for you. I had to pull my luggage over, too.”
「Downstairs.」
When Jiangg Yao saw the message, she was furious.
‘Good for me, my ass!’
‘You have your rich young master with you, and he’s carrying everything! I had to complete this grueling task all by myself!’ She rolled her eyes, wishing she could swap places with her sister that very instant.
…
With the help of a bellboy, they wheeled their luggage into the suite.
The top-tier suite unfolded before their eyes.
An incredibly spacious living room opened up before them. At the far end were astonishingly large floor-to-ceiling windows. Countless raindrops slid slowly down the clear glass. Outside, lush trees swayed, and beyond them, the hazy surface of the sea was hidden by the night. All they could hear was the WHOOSH… WHOOSH… of the waves, a soul-stirring lament.
Two layers of curtains provided privacy, though of course, a couple looking for a thrill could choose to leave them open.
Whispering sweet nothings while gazing out at the sea—it was the height of romance.
Jiangg Ning gazed out the window, feeling her spirits lift. It was as if all her worries had been swept away.
