“Never mind you being curious about me—I’m curious about you. Where did all you Spirit Cultivators from thousands of years ago go? Why did you all vanish without a trace? Did you all die? Or did you leave this planet?”

“And another thing—why is it the Dharma Decline Era now? Why is the current age unsuitable for Cultivation, making it impossible for new Spirit Cultivators to emerge? What’s the story behind that?” Chu Feng asked.

In truth, this was a question that had always puzzled him, and he was eager to find out what was really going on.

But he had never found anyone to ask. Since this person claimed to be an existence from thousands of years ago, he was sure to know the answers. That’s why Chu Feng was pressing him now.

When the God of Wealth had left before, Chu Feng had only managed to learn bits and pieces.

It was something about losing contact with the Celestial Court, about their destination and whereabouts being completely unknown.

There had to be a reason, a secret, behind it all, and Chu Feng was desperate to uncover it.

“How could they have died? They simply left this planet,” the man answered directly, his tone flat.

“They didn’t die? They all left? Then why did they leave?” Chu Feng pressed on, his curiosity piqued.

“They left because there was no longer any reason to stay. That’s why they left. I’m finding you ask a lot of pointless questions. Don’t you want to get stronger? To follow them and leave this planet?” the man asked, looking at Chu Feng.

“Of course I want to get stronger, but I’m curious about how you plan to make that happen,” Chu Feng said. He was now fully alert, mobilizing all his power and ready to strike at a moment’s notice.

This man was the strongest person he had ever encountered—so strong it was almost absurd.

“It’s simple. Open up your Sea of Divine Soul, and I will help you strengthen the power of your Divine Soul. That way, your strength will see a massive and rapid increase,” the man said.

This man was indeed an existence from thousands of years ago, but he was no benevolent Spirit Cultivator. He was a practitioner of dark arts, similar to the legendary Ghost Kings, though with some distinct differences.

In any case, the man had no good intentions; he was secretly harboring malicious plans.

Thousands of years ago, the entire Earth was a Holy Land for Cultivation, teeming with all manner of humans, gods, demons, and monsters.

It was a feat for him to have survived for thousands of years. By now, his power had waned significantly, and he could only sustain his existence and prevent himself from dissipating by devouring others.

Unfortunately, in the current world, sentient beings for him to absorb were practically nonexistent.

That was why he had been so desperate after discovering Chu Feng, immediately sending the Netherworld Sect to extend an invitation.

He wanted to possess Chu Feng’s body. That way, he could use it to continue his Cultivation and prolong his life.

The Sea of Divine Soul of an ordinary person, or even a typical Martial Cultivator, was far too small to withstand his invasion.

If he were to invade the Sea of Divine Soul of a normal person, they would die an instant and violent death.

Therefore, it was safe to say that in the entire world right now, Chu Feng was perhaps the only person suitable for him to possess.

Moreover, he could see that Chu Feng was on the verge of a breakthrough. Once the body entered the Nascent Soul Realm, its power would increase, allowing for further Cultivation down the line.

Chu Feng’s body represented his greatest hope. After possessing it and cultivating for a while, he could even attempt Crossing the Tribulation.

He was also thankful that Chu Feng hadn’t already undergone Crossing the Tribulation. If he had, the man knew he would be no match for him and wouldn’t have dared to provoke him in the slightest.

With his current strength, he could only handle those who had yet to cross their tribulation—in other words, Cultivators below the Nascent Soul Realm.

“Open my Sea of Divine Soul? That doesn’t sound like a great idea. Are there any other ways to get stronger? Let’s try something else,” Chu Feng said.

In reality, killing intent was already stirring within him. ‘This guy has some nerve.’

‘Asking me to open my Sea of Divine Soul… How could I possibly do that?’

If he left his Sea of Divine Soul open, he would be in extreme danger should anything go wrong.

If this man had any ill intentions, Chu Feng would very likely be possessed.

“Heh heh, kid, you’re in no position to bargain with me. You will open your Sea of Divine Soul today. Otherwise, you can just die.” The man’s true colors began to show. His face twisted into a ferocious scowl, and killing intent surged from him.

“What’s this? Showing your true colors already? If you want to possess me, just say so. Why bother with all this beating around the bush?” Chu Feng said with a smile.

“Once I possess you, this body will be mine. Then I’ll show you just how powerful I can make it!” the man continued, his face a hateful mask.

Then, he slowly stepped forward, and a terrifying aura swept out from him.

It felt as if he carried the stench of a mountain of corpses and a sea of blood, making it difficult to breathe.

Chu Feng’s expression changed drastically as he watched. He could feel an immense pressure bearing down on him.

‘Has this guy already reached the Nascent Soul Realm?’

For the first time, he felt a sense of powerlessness, as if he couldn’t even resist.
