Chapter 131: Chapter 130: Are You Still Young If You’re Not Full of Vigor?

’How did he find me?’

The Elf Divine Archer Shabei, who had been hiding in the crowd, was singled out. His pupils shrank instantly. The hand drawing his bowstring almost slipped, threatening to loose the arrow.

"Young man, don’t be rash."

The Wind Forbidden Mage Peter watched the massive Fireball and Lightning Ball in Li Ye’s hands swell larger and larger. It was giving him a massive headache.

He had assumed the young man before him was a Wind Element Sword Saint, but he never expected him to also be a Three-Element Mage.

’Where did this freak come from?’

Peter didn’t dare to launch a reckless attack.

Thunder and Fire were the strongest offensive elements. If he teamed up with Shabei, they might be able to take down the young man in an instant.

But if the Magic in Li Ye’s hands went out of control, it would bring an unpredictable disaster upon the fortress.

Most importantly, he felt a pang of appreciation for talent. Such an outstanding young man should be on the front lines fighting the Undead, not dying at the hands of his own people.

The Divine Archer Shabei stepped out from the crowd, his arrowhead still aimed at Li Ye in the sky. Wind Element swirled around the tip, and the shimmering blue light of the arrowhead exuded an extremely dangerous aura.

Behind him, a group of Elves also aimed their bows at the sky.

The soldiers on the fortress walls scrambled to turn the Magic Crystal Cannons, aiming their muzzles at Li Ye.

Mages raised their Magic Staffs, chanting incantations and erecting shields over the soldiers’ heads to protect them from the Fireball falling from the sky...

The soldiers in the fortress had been fighting the Undead Army for three years. They had rich battlefield experience, enough to handle any sudden development.

...

"Young man, what’s your name?" Peter softened his voice, trying to make his tone as gentle as possible. "Who is your mentor? Perhaps we can talk. You have immense talent for Magic, but it shouldn’t be used here.

Impulsiveness solves nothing; it only leads to disaster for yourself. You’re still young. You’ll have a beautiful wife and loving children someday. You shouldn’t let your life end here..."

"Why don’t you ask what Luo Ao Neil did?" As if he hadn’t seen the weapons pointed at him from below, Li Ye smiled and glanced at the Marshal behind Peter. "He was insulting a great All-Element Forbidden Mage, insulting the sacred Legendary Mage Gan—"

"Aragon, there was nothing wrong with what I did," Luo Ao Neil cut Li Ye off just in time.

He stepped out onto the air, standing beside Peter, and accused Li Ye with a grim face, "You, on the other hand, have a serious problem with your attitude. If what you say is true, then you are the one tarnishing your teacher’s reputation.

At least your teacher would never disregard the safety of humanity.

If you truly are his disciple, you should submit to an inspection. Once we’ve verified your identity, we will naturally entrust you with great responsibility.

Look at yourself now—impulsive and arrogant. So what if you’re powerful? Who would dare entrust their lives to you? As you are now, you will only bring disaster upon humanity..."

"So there’s nothing to talk about, then?" Li Ye raised an eyebrow and continued to pour Magic Power into the Lightning Ball.

"We can talk, we can talk!" Peter’s heart pounded as he watched the ever-growing Fireball. "I’ll talk with you. Perhaps we can go somewhere else? We can talk over by the Death Mist, how about it?"

One played good cop, the other bad cop. The two hadn’t even rehearsed.

Li Ye inwardly marveled at their coordination. Then, to Peter’s horrified gaze, he suddenly hurled the Fireball at the soldiers below and tossed the Lightning Ball toward the two men opposite him.

"Wind Shield."

Peter raised his Magic Staff. A fierce gale swirled around him, forming layer after layer of white shields that protected both him and Luo Ao.

The moment the Fireball fell, it transformed into a rain of fire that filled the sky.

The Mages below scrambled frantically while the soldiers scattered, looking for cover.

The Divine Archer Shabei sighed inwardly and decisively released his bowstring.

The arrow seemed to pierce the void, appearing abruptly before Li Ye’s abdomen. In the end, he had shown mercy, not aiming for a vital spot.

But in the next second, something happened that shocked him.

That arrow, powerful enough to slay a Giant Dragon, was caught firmly in the young man’s hand...

’What kind of terrifying power is this?’

’Is he a Giant Dragon in human skin?’ 𝒻𝑟ℯℯ

Shabei nearly bit his own tongue off. No longer daring to be overconfident, he rapidly drew his bowstring, loosing a volley of arrows at Li Ye.

After being fired, the nine arrows split into eighty-one, locking down every possible escape route for Li Ye...

This was his ultimate technique.

No one could escape his Nine-Slit Arrow, not even a Sword Saint.

But right before his eyes, the eighty-one arrows struck an afterimage and flew off into the higher sky.

The afterimage’s lips seemed to carry a casual smile.

Then, the very first arrow he had shot flew back down from the sky. It whistled through the air, heading straight for his own abdomen.

Before Shabei could react, a sharp pain shot through his abdomen as the arrow pierced it.

’How is this possible?’

’The Elf Race’s most powerful Divine Archer was hit by his own arrow?’

’My arrow was aimed at his abdomen, so he returned it to my abdomen...’

’He did it on purpose?’

In that instant, Shabei understood Li Ye’s intention. The Divine Archer’s confidence nearly crumbled.

The Magic Crystal Cannons roared, but if even the Divine Archer Shabei’s arrows couldn’t hit Li Ye, what chance did the cannons have, which could only fire in a straight line?

Peter was already struggling to block the lightning with his Wind Shield. Now he had to divert a portion of his Magic Power to intercept the Magic Crystal Cannons, preventing them from damaging the buildings on the hillside. He was so frustrated he could have coughed up blood.

For a moment, he even regretted his earlier mercy.

’Luo Ao was right. Unregulated power is a disaster for humanity. It’s better not to have it at all.’

’I should have used a gale to blow that young man named Aragon out of the fortress right from the start, then given him a sound beating.’

’If I had beaten some sense into him, I wouldn’t be in such a passive position now.’

’To deal with an arrogant young man who doesn’t know his place, you have to make him suffer enough until he finally yields...’

...

Li Ye cast an Earth Element shield on himself and dove headfirst into Peter’s Wind Shield.

The Wind Shield was like a wall of air. Any object that touched it would be sent flying, and even if something managed to break through, it would be shredded by the high-speed air currents within.

Peter was a Wind Forbidden Mage. No one dared to face his Wind Shield head-on.

Seeing Aragon’s brave charge, Peter actually breathed a sigh of relief. ’Finally, this restless kid will get a taste of his own medicine.’

But a fist that suddenly appeared before his eyes shattered that thought.

BANG!

The old man felt his nose bridge sink into his skull before he cleanly fell into unconsciousness.

The out-of-control Wind Element dispersed, and his Floating Technique failed. He began to plummet from the sky, but Li Ye caught him, saving the old fellow from being smashed to pieces.

Then, Li Ye gave a slight smile to the stunned Marshal Luo Ao. He slammed his free hand into the marshal’s abdomen. With a CRACK-CRACK sound, something shattered.

The immense force bent Luo Ao over like a shrimp.

Marshal Luo Ao’s face became a mask of agony. He instinctively threw a punch in retaliation.

But when his fist hit Li Ye, it was like striking a solid wall. The impact nearly broke his wrist.

BANG!

Li Ye punched him in the stomach again.

With this punch, Marshal Luo Ao’s expression twisted completely. A mouthful of blood sprayed from his lips. His body went limp, all strength to resist gone, and Li Ye grabbed him by the back of his waist, holding him fast...

The Wind Shield dissipated.

Li Ye’s figure reappeared before everyone.

The bustling fortress seemed to freeze, plunging into a sudden, dead silence.

Elise covered her mouth in astonishment. She knew Li Ye was strong, but she never knew he was *this* strong.

A Wind Forbidden Mage, a Grand Marshal whose Martial Arts were second only to a Sword Saint, and the Elf Race’s Divine Archer—all of them had been defeated by his hand in just a few short exchanges, while he remained completely unscathed.

Moreover, he had never once dispelled her Floating Technique, and had even thoughtfully added a shield around her when the Magic Crystal Cannons fired...

’As expected of the man closest to the gods!’

...

ROAR!

A tremendous uproar erupted in the fortress.

Seeing Peter and Luo Ao captured by Li Ye, the soldiers fell into disarray, unsure of what to do!

Nothing like this had ever happened before!

Master Peter was a Forbidden Mage. In every battle against the Undead Army, he had always been the one to turn the tide.

In their hearts, Peter was like a god. And now, their god had been captured by a young man!

Even their ever-victorious Marshal had been captured.

’Heavens!’

’Is humanity doomed?’

...

"Release the Marshal."

"Release the Marshal."

More Dragon Knights and flying Elves appeared in the sky.

They surrounded Li Ye, their faces filled with rage.

A burly, middle-aged man with a greatsword on his back walked on the air, flying up from behind the fortress to confront Li Ye face-to-face.

Flames burned around his body, making him look like a Super Saiyan. He looked coldly at Li Ye. "Kid, I suggest you release Marshal Luo Ao and Mage Peter."

"Your Excellency Aragon, that’s the Fire Element Sword Saint, Quade Marshall," Elise helpfully identified the newcomer for Li Ye.

On the ground below.

The Fireball Li Ye had thrown had been extinguished by the numerous Mages.

The soldiers cleared a space.

A dozen giant beasts, each dozens of meters tall, stood in the central grounds of the fortress, looking up at Li Ye in the sky.

On the shoulder of one of the beasts stood a minotaur carrying a giant axe. The power radiating from him was scarcely weaker than that of a Sword Saint.

It seemed as if everyone in the entire fortress had been roused.

Elise’s face turned pale. She subconsciously bit her lip. "Your Excellency Aragon, the man on the giant beast is the Beastman Race’s Berserker, Yorke Lu. Over there is the Beastman Race’s High Priest, Cedric..."

’I’ve really kicked the hornet’s nest now!’

Li Ye scanned the people in the sky and on the ground, completely unafraid. "Everyone, I am not an enemy. I just wanted to talk with the Marshal, but he wouldn’t agree, so I was forced to resort to this method!"

"Who are you?" asked Quade, the Fire Element Sword Saint. "I’ve never seen you before, nor have I heard your name."

"Allow me to reintroduce myself. My name is Aragon Vincent. I come from the Age of Gods, ten thousand years ago. My teacher is the Legendary Mage Gandalf..."

Li Ye smiled, elegantly surveying the crowd. "I came here to help you fight the Undead Calamity, but Marshal Luo Ao seemed unwilling to believe my identity, so I had no choice but to prove myself this way!

So, can we have a proper talk now? If you still refuse to believe me, we can continue fighting. But if we do, it will only be saddening our allies and delighting our enemies!"

As he spoke, he held up Peter, using his body to point toward the Undead Mist. "I have no desire to become a sinner to humanity because of the foolishness of a few."
