Chapter 130 - 129: The Entrance of a Powerhouse
Chapter 130: Chapter 129: The Entrance of a Powerhouse
Li Ye’s appearance was too distinctive.
Even though Linton had brought him back, he was still subjected to round after round of questioning.
Considering there might be spies from the Undead Race hidden within the allied forces, Linton didn’t dare leak Li Ye’s identity to anyone of low rank.
After exiting the secret passage, Li Ye put on a gray cloak that hid his hair and face.
「The Isolation Room.」
Fruits and wine were laid out before Li Ye.
At this moment, only Linton and the Mage, Elise, remained by his side.
Linton quietly apologized to Li Ye. "Your Excellency, I’ve already reported your identity up the chain. But this is a critical time, and we can’t allow any harm to befall the Marshal. They may need to conduct a body search and a soul detection on you shortly. Everyone who returns from the Land of the Dead goes through this process. I ask for your understanding..."
Li Ye’s brow furrowed, and he cut him off. "Where is the Marshal?"
’What a joke.’
’A body search?’
’A soul detection?’
’A body search is fine, but a soul detection is absolutely out of the question. The soul is far too important. How could I let an outsider touch it?’
’Besides, the identity I fabricated is a lie to begin with...’
"Your Excellency, I know you are of noble status, but right now..."
Linton tried to explain further, but Li Ye cut him off again, his voice cold. "The dignity of a Forbidden Mage will not be insulted by anyone. Linton, take me to see the Marshal at once. Otherwise, I don’t mind demonstrating my power in this fortress and making the Marshal come to me."
Linton looked helpless. "Your Excellency, please wait a moment. I will go and consult General Hawke." Hawke was his direct superior.
With that, he hurried away.
"Your Excellency, I can help you find my teacher," Elise said timidly. "She can vouch for you..."
"There’s no need. Just tell me, where is the Marshal’s office?" Li Ye stood up tall and ripped off his cloak. "There’s nothing about my appearance that needs to be hidden."
"The Marshal’s office is on the third floor of the white building on West Mountain Peak." Elise bit her lip slightly as she revealed the Marshal’s location. "Your Excellency, the Marshal’s guards are the most elite Swordsmen and Mages."
"I understand." Li Ye nodded and grabbed Elise’s hand. "You’re coming with me to see the Marshal. Every second of my time is precious, yet they’re wasting it on these useless inspections and interrogations. It’s ridiculous."
"As the Alliance Marshal, Luo Ao Neil should have the courage to face any danger head-on, not cower in a shell and protect himself like a baby."
’Questioning, background checks... what’s next? A test of my strength?’
’If I can’t avoid all this, I’ll just use brute force to blast my way through.’
’I might as well skip straight to demonstrating my power.’
Li Ye had gauged this world’s level of Martial Force from Linton and felt he could handle it. He was no longer the little rookie from Cyan Yang Mountain who couldn’t even defeat a Foundation Establishment Stage cultivator.
’A master has to make a grand entrance.’
’If worst comes to worst, I’ll just unleash my Spiritual Power and go all out. I can’t let them inspect my soul, no matter what...’
"Mm." Elise looked at the hand Li Ye was holding, her face blushing as she nodded. Her heart was leaping for joy. ’I’m finally fighting alongside His Excellency!’
’His Excellency is so commanding!’
...
The door to the reception room was locked from the outside.
With his perception, the surrounding scene was perfectly clear; the walls couldn’t block his vision at all.
He led Elise and started walking out.
Under his control, the Wind Element deftly pulled back the bolt and even helped push the door open...
The soldiers outside the door stared in astonishment as Li Ye walked out.
But before they could draw their weapons, two balls of ice had already slammed into their foreheads, knocking them unconscious.
Li Ye’s Dantian contained dense Magic Elements. Without any need for chanting, he could cast any Magic instantly, just like using the Spiritual Qi inside his body.
As he walked, the ice balls flew like solid cannonballs, always striking a soldier precisely between the eyes.
Even if they tried to block, the ice balls, aided by the Wind Element, would curve around their weapons and continue on to hit their foreheads.
Li Ye’s gaze remained fixed forward as he walked, making it seem as if the ice balls were appearing automatically to fight for him.
Along the way, not a single soldier could halt his advance.
Elise trotted behind him, the admiration in her eyes practically overflowing.
’As expected of a Forbidden Mage from the Ancient Era! His control over Magic is so exquisite. So far, he’s only used low-level Magic.’
’And yet, he’s making low-level Magic produce the effects of high-level Magic.’
’Just how profound must his Magic Power be?’
’He hasn’t used any chanting to achieve Elemental Resonance with the Magic Elements in the air this whole time.’
’I’m afraid even a Demon-Banning Ball couldn’t suppress a man like His Excellency!’
’Yes, it definitely couldn’t. Because His Excellency also possesses incredible Martial Arts...’
...
The commotion in the reception room quickly alerted Linton, who was still reporting to Hawke. Both of them turned their heads at the same time.
The color drained from Linton’s face.
’It’s over!’
’His Excellency Aragon is finally angry!’
"Linton, this is the man you brought back." Hawke’s expression darkened. He shot Linton a fierce glare, drew the longsword from his back, and charged toward Li Ye. "On alert! Engage the enemy!"
A series of sharp whistles immediately rang out in succession.
"General Hawke, don’t!" Linton shouted, frantically chasing after him.
But it was too late.
To be precise, even Hawke couldn’t stop Li Ye. By the time he arrived, Li Ye had already taken Elise and flown into the sky, heading straight for West Mountain Peak.
Griffin riders swarmed out from all directions to intercept Li Ye, but not a single one was a match for him.
Li Ye raised a hand, and sheets of lightning struck the griffins.
The griffins, which didn’t have high Magic Resistance to begin with, were charred black by the lightning and fell to the ground with mournful cries.
Watching the griffin riders fall from the sky, Linton felt incredibly fortunate.
’His Excellency is merciful after all. He didn’t use higher-level lightning Magic, or else none of these griffin riders would have survived...’
...
"Aragon, a disciple of Gandalf, a Forbidden Mage from the War of the Gods ten thousand years ago who has arrived in the present day, master of All-Element Magic, possessing a constitution comparable to a barbarian’s..."
Alliance Marshal Luo Ao Neil frowned as he looked at the file on Li Ye. "What kind of Forbidden Magic sends someone ten thousand years into the future? A man in his twenties, the closest to the Gods? Has Linton been affected by a Charm?"
"Duke, we performed a soul detection on the members of the Linton Squad. No one shows any signs of being Charmed. Every one of them swears that Aragon’s strength is real, and they’re even willing to stake their lives to vouch for him."
His adjutant, Du An, continued, "Count Andrei didn’t dare to rashly perform a soul detection on such a being, which is why he came to you for instructions on whether this step could be skipped..."
"Du An, you can’t possibly believe such absurd information is true, can you? Did a wild donkey kick you in the head?" Luo Ao Neil looked at Du An mockingly and slammed the file onto the table. "You shouldn’t have even brought a report like this to me..."
The moment the file hit the table.
BOOM!
The massive windows in Luo Ao Neil’s room were shattered, and a figure slid across the floor, crashing into the far corner and embedding himself in the wall, unconscious.
"Captain Peiqi?" Du An was dumbfounded.
BAM!
Another person was thrown in, landing precisely on the unconscious Captain Peiqi, causing the captain to let out a muffled groan.
A third person, a fourth...
One by one, guards were hurled into the Marshal’s office.
The exquisitely carved window frames were smashed to pieces by their bodies.
One man crashed into Luo Ao Neil’s desk, shattering it as well.
Luo Ao Neil and Du An turned their stiff necks to look outside. With the windows completely destroyed, the scene was perfectly clear.
A young, black-haired man hovered in the sky, with Elise held up behind him by the Floating Technique.
The Marshal’s guards charged toward the man in waves.
The black-haired young man zipped back and forth in the sky, each of his kicks finding a guard.
The guards he kicked flew like baseballs, accurately smashing into his office. Not a single one missed...
The color drained from Luo Ao Neil’s face, his beard trembling with rage. "He’s provoking me!"
"Aragon," Du An swallowed hard. "Marshal, the file was right. His strength and Martial Arts are absolutely on par with a barbarian’s, but barbarians can’t use the Floating Technique..."
More people took to the sky, among them elves, Mages, and Dragon Knights. Most of them didn’t recognize Li Ye and simply assumed an enemy had infiltrated the fortress.
A Dragon Knight whistled through the air toward Li Ye as his Red Dragon opened its mouth and spewed scorching flames at him.
But in the next second, the young man had already appeared on the Giant Dragon’s back. He cleanly kicked the Dragon Knight into the Marshal’s room, then stomped on the Red Dragon’s neck, grabbing its horns and wrenching them back.
The Red Dragon thrashed in the air, letting out a pained shriek.
Despite all this, Elise remained suspended in mid-air by the Floating Technique, surrounded by an Air Shield, her position not even shifting in the slightest.
In just a few moments, the Giant Dragon, which would normally only submit to one person in its entire life, had surrendered at Li Ye’s feet, not daring to make another move.
Standing on the Giant Dragon’s back, Li Ye looked at the Marshal peering out from behind the broken window and asked with a smile, "Luo Ao Neil, am I qualified to see you now?"
Luo Ao Neil’s expression was as dark as water as he stared at the young man who had provoked his dignity.
Before he could speak, a majestic voice suddenly boomed from above his head. "Young man, who are you?"
"It’s Great Mage Peter," Du An said. "Marshal, can we now verify if this young man is a Forbidden Mage?"
An old man who looked to be at least eighty, clad in a cyan Magic Robe, was lifted by the Wind Element to face Li Ye.
The old man’s brow was tightly furrowed as he reprimanded Li Ye. "Young man, with skills like yours, you should be on the front lines, not causing trouble here!"
"Your Excellency, that’s Peter King. He’s a Wind Forbidden Mage," Elise whispered from behind Li Ye, identifying the newcomer.
"If I defeat you, will that be enough to prove my strength?" Li Ye asked, looking at the old man opposite him as he extended his hand once more.
This time, crackling sparks of electricity appeared in his palm.
The sparks rapidly converged, dense lightning dancing in his palm, looking just like a Tesla coil’s lightning ball.
Great Mage Peter’s expression changed the instant he saw the Lightning Ball. He immediately raised his Magic Staff, and the Wind Element howled, forming a barrier in front of him and the Marshal’s room behind him.
Just as he aimed his Magic Staff at Li Ye, a frightening scene unfolded. A Fireball, growing larger by the second, appeared in Li Ye’s other hand.
He held a ball of lightning in one hand and a Fireball in the other. Looking at Peter King with a grin, he asked, "Old man, let me ask again: if I beat you, will you all finally accept my identity? Or do I have to beat all of you? Including that elf down there aiming an arrow at me?"
