Chapter 95: Chapter 96: Su Chen Arrives, Domineering Stance

Returning from Medicine Town, Su Chen had originally planned to head home first and meet up with Hong Ming the next day. However, as he passed by the County Magistrate’s Office, he noticed something amiss. The Governmental Constables and archers were fully geared up, exuding a palpable killing intent as if preparing for a major operation.

At first, he didn’t pay it much mind. Watching the group enter the Tao Mansion, he assumed it was Tao Dingfang’s arrangement. But before he could get far, he spotted a stealthy figure slipping into the estate. The sight made Su Chen freeze in his tracks. He recognized the man immediately—it was Sun Yun, the very fugitive wanted by Tao Dingfang.

Seeing Sun Yun infiltrate the Tao Mansion, Su Chen hesitated for a moment before changing direction and tailing him.

Not long after entering the premises, faint sounds of combat reached his ears, instantly filling him with a sense of dread. Since Sun Yun had headed in the same direction as the noise, Su Chen followed the commotion and soon arrived at a courtyard.

Focusing his gaze, a chill ran down his spine. He spotted Hong Ming and the others entirely surrounded by enemy soldiers.

Though he had no idea what had transpired, there was no time to think. Seeing that his friends were about to be gunned down by the archers, Su Chen attacked without hesitation. Darting forward in a blur, he rapidly scaled the wall where the ambushing archers were positioned. He effortlessly dispatched several of the shooters and hurled their corpses outward, using their bodies to block the incoming volley of arrows aimed at Hong Ming and the others.

Having temporarily saved his friends, Su Chen didn’t stop. He grabbed a handful of arrows and hurled them out in a flash.

Although his aim wasn’t perfectly precise, the projectiles flew at blistering speed and covered a wide area. Furthermore, the archers hadn’t expected anyone to flank them. Thus, a single barrage of over ten arrows instantly wiped out a third of the archers.

By the time the survivors reacted, Su Chen’s second volley was already upon them, taking out another seven or eight.

By now, the remaining archers had spotted Su Chen. Seeing how many of their comrades he had slaughtered, they collectively aimed their bows at him. Unfazed, Su Chen grabbed another handful of arrows and closed the distance with a few rapid leaps, launching himself straight at the remaining shooters.

SWISH SWISH SWISH!

Dozens of sharp arrows tore through the air. At such close range, they practically had a hundred percent chance of hitting their mark. Yet, facing the lethal barrage, Su Chen completely ignored the threat and instead accelerated.

CLANG CLANG CLANG!

"What?"

Nearly every single one of the dozens of arrows struck Su Chen, but they were all effortlessly deflected. It was as if they had hit solid steel; the arrows violently bounced off, leaving him entirely unscathed.

"My turn!"

Moving with lightning speed, Su Chen took advantage of the archers’ stunned hesitation to hurl another fistful of arrows. Accompanied by a chorus of agonized screams, the rest of the shooters were wiped out.

"Haha, the archers are dead! Charge, everyone!"

A heavily scarred martial artist let out an excited grin upon seeing Su Chen obliterate the archers. However, his smile was short-lived, as a soldier mercilessly hacked him down moments later.

Hearing the shout, the rest of the martial artists looked up, their eyes landing on Su Chen’s slender frame. Driven to the absolute brink of despair, they suddenly felt a spark of hope. An intense will to live ignited within them, allowing them to erupt with terrifying strength.

"Junior Brother Su!"

"Chen!"

Hong Ming and the others were completely shell-shocked by Su Chen’s blood-soaked rampage.

His endless flurry of lethal moves unfolded before their eyes like a painting. His strikes were crisp, his movements clean, and his eyes eerily calm. He killed with absolute decisiveness. In less than ten breaths, dozens of archers had been systematically slaughtered at Su Chen’s hands.

The sheer impact of this scene was no less shocking than when Su Chen had first revealed his Force Training strength. Alongside their astonishment came a sense of bewilderment. Was this really the same Su Chen they knew? When had the gap in strength between Su Chen and them grown so impossibly wide?

"How are you all holding up?" Su Chen asked as he arrived in front of the group, casually swatting the surrounding soldiers to death before turning his attention to them.

His gaze swept over Hong Ming and Li Mo, quickly noticing their injuries. His pupils slightly constricted.

Hong Ming shook his head and said, "We’re fine. Let’s get out of here before Tao Dingfang realizes what’s happening."

"Alright! You guys head out first; I’ll cover your retreat."

Su Chen nodded. With an explosive burst of speed, he plunged into the crowd of enemy soldiers, initiating a profoundly one-sided massacre.

"Let’s go!" Hong Ming called out to the group after shooting one last glance at Su Chen.

CRASH.

"Hahaha! Xiao Changhe, Zhao Baiyu, Ning Yuan—you three actually thought you could eliminate me by joining forces? Absolute delusion!"

Three disheveled figures shattered through a window and crashed heavily onto the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust. All of them were gravely injured, coughing up mouthfuls of blood as they stared at the man before them in pure terror.

"Hmm?"

The triumphant Tao Dingfang suddenly realized something was wrong. Narrowing his eyes, his pupils instantly shrank. "You again!"

He had noticed his slain archers and spotted Su Chen carving through his ranks. Seeing his subordinates dying miserable deaths one by one at the young man’s hands, Tao Dingfang’s gaze turned as cold as ice.

"Bastard! Don’t let them escape!"

Tao Dingfang roared his command. His figure shot forward, arriving instantly in front of Xiao Changhe’s trio. With a simultaneous thrust of both palms, he killed Zhao Baiyu and Ning Yuan on the spot.

Seeing this, Xiao Changhe’s eyes trembled. Knowing he had nowhere left to run, a flash of madness crossed his face. Gritting his teeth, he snarled, "Even if I die, I’m dragging you down to hell with me!"

With that, Xiao Changhe struck the ground with his palm. A massive rebound force propelled his body into the air. His feet abruptly kicked off the earth, launching him forward with all his might. In the blink of an eye, he closed the distance and unleashed a ferocious, thunderous palm strike.

The surrounding air was instantly compressed, accompanied by the howling of a biting palm wind.

"You’re courting death!"

Tao Dingfang, who had originally intended to finish off the trio as quickly as possible before moving on to kill Su Chen, coldly scoffed at the incoming Xiao Changhe. A vicious glint flashed in his eyes as he threw a counter-punch, producing a series of sharp sonic booms.

Fist and palm clashed violently. As earth-shattering sounds of collision echoed outward, invisible shockwaves rippled through the air, churning up the dust and whipping up a fierce gale.

BOOM!

Xiao Changhe’s body was sent flying like a ragdoll, trailing a continuous spray of blood. He slammed into the ground like a heavy hammer, causing the earth to tremble slightly, before skidding to a halt right in front of Su Chen, leaving a long, bloody smear in his wake.

Su Chen looked over and met Tao Dingfang’s gaze. A cold smirk tugged at the corner of Su Chen’s mouth.

He had found this guy repulsive for a long time. Now that Tao Dingfang had laid his hands on Hong Ming and the others, the killing intent in Su Chen’s heart flared even stronger.

However, with Hong Ming and the others not yet entirely out of danger, Su Chen had no desire to get bogged down in a prolonged duel with Tao Dingfang. Weaving his hands in a blur, he hoisted up soldier after soldier and chucked them like sandbags directly at Tao Dingfang.

Seeing the incoming projectiles, Tao Dingfang narrowed his eyes, exuding a vicious aura. He simply snatched the airborne soldiers and callously tossed them aside. ℴ

"Where did he go?" After clearing away the swarm of bodies, Tao Dingfang glared ahead, only to find that Su Chen had completely vanished. His expression darkened as he bellowed, "After him!"

At his command, the soldiers swarmed out of the estate. Taking advantage of the moment, Tao Dingfang personally stepped up and swiftly executed the remaining martial artists in the courtyard who were still clinging to life, giving them a quick death.

Having dealt with the stragglers, Tao Dingfang strode out of the courtyard. Stopping at the gates of the Tao Mansion, he stared intently at a carriage speeding away into the distance.

"Hmph," he sneered coldly. "You can’t escape my grasp!"
