Chapter 94 -95: Purging White Stone City, Breaking Out of the Encirclement

With sword soldiers inside and archers outside, this banquet was clearly a premeditated trap set by Tao Dingfang to catch everyone in one fell swoop.

“Tao Dingfang, don’t you just want money? If we’re willing to give you the Medicine Gang’s earnings, will you let us live?” a martial artist shouted while dodging the lethal strikes of a sword soldier.

“Hmph. Idiots,” Tao Dingfang’s cold voice rang out. “Once I kill you, I’ll naturally obtain all your wealth. Why go to such unnecessary trouble?”

“You—you’re offending all the martial artist factions in White Stone City! Aren’t you afraid we’ll escape and seek revenge?” another martial artist cried out in immense grief and indignation.

“Haha! Offending all the martial artist factions in White Stone City? To tell you the truth, I’m really not afraid. Besides, you people don’t represent all the martial artists in White Stone City.” Tao Dingfang burst into laughter. He truly hadn’t expected these people to be so blind to the situation even at death’s door.

Not only did Tao Dingfang not care about the city’s martial artist factions, but he actually wished to purge them all. Only then could his uncle restore White Stone City to its former glory.

Killing these so-called martial artist factions would not only bring massive wealth to the army, but also lend his uncle a helping hand. Why wouldn’t he do it?

“Since you’re forcing our hands, we’ll kill you first!” Seizing the moment Tao Dingfang was conversing with the crowd, Zhao Baiyu flashed behind him. He knew how formidable Tao Dingfang was, but there was no other choice. Taking him hostage was their only way out.

Therefore, he held nothing back. His fierce saber technique unleashed an endless torrent like a violent storm. The whistling sound of the blade tearing through the air blotted out the sky as a flurry of afterimages struck at Tao Dingfang.

Detecting Zhao Baiyu’s ambush, Tao Dingfang curled his lips into a cold sneer. “Hmph. Overestimating your own strength!”

Before his words even faded, he curled his fingers and formed a palm strike. A dreamlike flash of light froze in Zhao Baiyu’s pupils, followed immediately by a devastating gust of palm wind. It struck his chest with an unstoppable force. With a loud BANG, his entire chest felt as though it had exploded. The impact sent him staggering back repeatedly until he could no longer keep his balance, crashing heavily to the ground.

“There’s a side door over here! Anyone who doesn’t want to die, charge out with us!”

At that moment, a martial artist shouted with all his might. The effects of the Soft Bone Powder were kicking in. He could feel the strength in his body being pulled away like strands of silk—subtle, but extremely fast.

“Master, let’s hurry and follow them.”

Wei Ping and Wu Hai guarded the front, Li Mo and Qin Hao flanked the sides, while Zhou Tao, Liu Fang, and the others brought up the rear. The group rushed swiftly toward the side courtyard.

BANG BANG BANG!

“Captain Tian.”

As they hurried along, someone quickly noticed them. It was none other than Tian Yi, who had previously fought alongside them to wipe out Tongshan Hall.

Tian Yi didn’t speak. Feigning a retreat while exchanging blows with the crowd, he signaled with his eyes for the group to hurry up and follow.

Under Tian Yi’s cover, Hong Ming and the others quickly slipped through the chaotic crowd and arrived at the side courtyard.

“There are archers here, everyone be careful!”

Hong Ming warned aloud. Martial artists in the courtyard were already engaged in a bloody slaughter with the governmental constables and soldiers, but the situation was far from optimistic.

Not only were they poisoned, but they also had to fight off the governmental constables while remaining vigilant against hidden arrows. If this dragged on, they would inevitably be trapped.

WHOOSH!

“Watch out! Master, dodge!”

Even with Tian Yi’s cover, such a large group suddenly appearing in the courtyard instantly made them a prime target.

A hidden arrow shot out without warning, piercing through the air with lightning speed straight toward Hong Ming. Fortunately, Wei Ping spotted it in time, allowing Hong Ming to dodge.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!

Another volley of hidden arrows rained down ruthlessly, carrying a chilling murderous intent that instantly scattered the gathered crowd.

“Sons of bitches! I’ll take you down with me!” a martial artist roared from a short distance away.

An arrow had pierced through his body, and he knew he didn’t have long to live. The uncontrollable fury in his heart erupted, unleashing a surge of ruthlessness along with his roar.

SLASH!

The closer he edged toward death, the more frenzied he became, his eyes reflecting nothing but pure slaughter.

“Junior Brother Qin Hao!”

Suddenly, a sharp scream pierced the air.

Hearing this, Hong Ming and the others looked toward the source of the sound, only to see that Qin Hao—who had been perfectly fine just a moment ago—now had an arrow straight through his heart. Before long, he was shot full of arrows like a pincushion.

“Qin Hao!”

Hong Ming blanked out for a split second, his pupils trembling as he couldn’t help but cry out.

“Master, there’s no time! Let’s escape first!” Wei Ping grabbed Hong Ming and quickly led Li Mo and the others forward.

Facing the soldiers charging at them from the front, he roared in a thunderous rage, “Get lost!”

The soldiers simply scoffed coldly and drew their blades. Their long sabers moved like dragons, sweeping across the battlefield as they attacked from all directions.

CLANG CLANG CLANG!

Seeing this, Li Mo, Wu Hai, and the others blanched. They immediately rushed forward to support him, but just then, inches of cold light flashed before their eyes.

“Wu Hai!”

“Li Mo!”

Two arrows struck true—one hitting Wu Hai in the back, and the other piercing Li Mo’s arm.

The massive impact sent both men tumbling to the ground. Li Mo fought through the pain and forced himself up, only to see a soldier slashing a saber down at him. Fortunately, Liu Fang intervened at the critical moment and saved his life.

Wu Hai, however, was not so lucky. He was hacked to death by a flurry of blades.

Wei Ping stared with eyes wide to the point of tearing at the sight of Wu Hai being slaughtered. He desperately wanted to free himself up to save him but was utterly powerless. He could only watch helplessly as Wu Hai was killed. A surge of immense grief and righteous fury instantly ignited his chest.

“Wei Ping, what are you doing?!”

Hong Ming, whose stamina was rapidly failing him, immediately paled when he saw Wei Ping charge out.

“I’ll kill you all!”

Wei Ping looked as if he had lost his mind. In his frenzied state, his chaotic yet ferocious strikes caused significant casualties among the soldiers.

It was a completely suicidal fighting style, trading injury for injury!

This display instantly drew the attention of a squad of soldiers. Cold glares locked onto Wei Ping as their figures steadily closed in around him.

Seeing this from a short distance away, Hong Ming cried out, “Wei Ping, watch out!”

However, Wei Ping turned a deaf ear. With every strike he unleashed, he was guaranteed to take down a soldier, but the wounds accumulating on his own body grew increasingly severe.

Just as he snapped a soldier’s neck, a sickening SQUELCH rang out. A long saber impaled him straight through his torso, sending blood spraying in all directions like rain.

“Wei Ping!”

Hong Ming, who had always treated Wei Ping as his own son, felt his heart shatter the moment he saw him fall. Disregarding the sky full of flashing blades and raining arrows, he desperately tried to rush forward.

“Master, don’t!”

Right then, Li Mo grabbed Hong Ming’s arm and held him back.

“Master, now is not the time to act on impulse! We need to leave, now!” Liu Fang said, panting heavily. Although she wasn’t injured, her body was growing increasingly exhausted. She feared she wouldn’t last much longer before collapsing.

Hearing their words, Hong Ming took a deep breath. He scanned his surroundings, his gaze ultimately locking onto the exit, and said in a heavy voice, “Let’s go!”

The sounds of slaughter continued to echo, and the situation grew ever more dire.

Hong Ming and the others sprinted rapidly toward the exit, entirely unaware that they had already been targeted by the archers.

WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!

Just as they took a step, the sound of several arrows tearing through the night sky rippled outward. The deadly glints of the arrows flashed, accompanied by a sharp whistle that pierced their ears, signaling what seemed to be the end of their lives.

THWACK THWACK THWACK!

But at that exact moment, three sturdy bodies formed a human wall, dropping down one after another in front of Hong Ming and his group.

The sharp arrows struck these three figures. Just as these men had taken the lives of others, the arrows now claimed theirs.

“It’s Junior Brother Su!”
