Chapter 80: Chapter 81: Displaying Prowess, Internal Martial Artist, Gleaming Iron Armor

"AHHH!"

A bloodcurdling scream erupted from the Husband Leader’s throat.

THUD, THUD, THUD.

The tremendous impact made his arm feel as though it were being ripped apart, forcing his body to stumble backward uncontrollably. Excruciating agony spiderwebbed from his torn wound throughout his entire body. Bead-sized drops of sweat immediately broke out on his forehead.

DRIP, DROP.

Blood pattered onto the ground, seeping into the floorboards and leaving striking crimson stains.

"Kill him! Kill him now!" Fueled by fury and immense pain, he roared, having nearly lost his mind.

Hearing this, the surrounding Archers immediately tensed. Any trace of hesitation vanished with the man’s injury, replaced by gazes as cold and sharp as blades.

"You bastards! I despise sneak attackers like you the most! Kill them!"

However, before the Archers could aim at Su Chen, rapid footsteps echoed from the stairwell. Moments later, Zhu Bao charged up with a group of Lianyun Stronghold bandits. He leaped forward like a falling boulder, crossing several meters in a single bound to cleave an Archer in half with his saber.

"You scum! Kill them!" Seeing this, the injured Husband Leader’s pupils shrank. Disregarding his revenge against Su Chen, he immediately issued the order.

The two factions battling on the street soon noticed that the volley of arrows was decreasing at a visible rate. The fall of an Archer’s corpse signaled a shift in the tide of battle.

"Su Chen, are you all right?" Li Mo took the opportunity to approach him. His face held a look of concern, though it was largely overshadowed by sheer astonishment.

The scene of Su Chen’s explosive display of power just moments ago had given him quite a shock. The casually fired arrows had transformed into the sharpest of weapons, every strike lethal. Not only had Su Chen saved Hong Ming, but he had also killed several Archers in the process.

"I’m fine." Su Chen shook his head calmly. He felt a bit of pity that he hadn’t managed to shoot dead the guy who ambushed them from the shadows, but at least he had gotten some payback.

Both Li Mo and Hong Ming had been of great help to him. He would never stand by and watch them get killed—especially not shot in the back by their own side!

"Chen, Li Mo, come here quickly! Let’s group up so we don’t get separated!"

The injured Hong Ming called out to them. With the arrival of Zhu Bao and his men, the conflict had reached a fever pitch. As the ensuing battle grew increasingly fierce, this was the only way he could try to protect his disciples. Unfortunately, he was injured; otherwise, protecting them would have been much easier.

Hearing this, Su Chen and Li Mo exchanged a glance and nodded.

"Li Mo, you go first. I’ll cover the rear!" Su Chen said.

Li Mo nodded without declining. Su Chen’s strength had long surpassed his own, so having him guard the rear was much safer. The two made their way toward Hong Ming’s position, one in front of the other. With a sweep of his arms, Su Chen blasted a bandit to death.

At this moment, Su Chen did not overly conceal his strength. Yet, even the tip of the iceberg he revealed was enough to make Hong Ming and the others, who had been keeping an eye on him, look at him in awe. Barely a single bandit could last three moves against him. Wherever Su Chen passed, enemies collapsed, foaming at the mouth and twitching briefly before drawing their last breaths.

"Su Chen, your strength..." Seeing him, Liu Fang couldn’t help but ask in shock.

"I broke through!" Su Chen did not hide the truth and answered directly.

Everyone blanked upon hearing this, their expressions rapidly shifting.

"Good!" Hong Ming’s brows raised in delight. He exhaled a breath of stale air, nodded heavily, and squeezed out a single word of approval.

Li Mo’s face displayed a momentary blankness before he let out a sharp HISS.

Still recovering from the shock, Qin Hao stared at Su Chen in absolute bewilderment, so dazed that he began to doubt his own existence. Su Chen, whom he had once left in the dust, had actually broken through again! He had already surpassed him, but... how long had it even been?!

"Hahaha, trash! You’re all a bunch of trash!"

Suddenly, a wild howl echoed from all directions. A figure leaped down from the adjacent tavern, his burly frame instantly dominating everyone’s line of sight.

BOOM.

He landed vertically, kicking up a massive cloud of dust. Wielding a giant broadsword, Zhu Bao spun the blade, reaping the lives of the Martial Artists around him.

"You madman, you have no right to run rampant here!"

Before Zhu Bao could continue his slaughter for long, the Han family Patriarch, Han Baichuan, flickered into motion. Gripping a sharp sword, he drifted gracefully until he stood directly in front of him.

"Hmph, old man, then let’s see if I have the right!" With those words, Zhu Bao’s eyes glinted with ferocity. He darted forward like a fleeting shadow, his broadsword roaring outward like a clap of thunder.

Han Baichuan narrowed his cold eyes, a flash of solemnity passing through his gaze. His hands, however, did not slow down in the slightest as he met the attack with the ethereal grace of an immortal.

On the other side, the battle had already reached a fever pitch.

BANG.

Three figures retreated simultaneously. Sun Yun and Zhu Hu forcefully steadied themselves, staring at Tao Dingfang in sheer horror.

"An Internal Martial Artist!" the two exclaimed in unison.

Tao Dingfang neither confirmed nor denied it. His indifferent tone carried a hint of arrogance. "I told you, today you will undoubtedly die!"

"Hmph, you’ve merely just stepped into the Internal Martial Artist realm. It’s true that neither of us is your match in a one-on-one fight, but if you want to kill us, we’ll see if you actually have the ability!" Sun Yun scoffed coldly.

"And how long can you last?" Tao Dingfang licked his lips, a touch of madness leaping onto his cheeks.

"You’re asking the wrong people. The question is, how long can your men last?" Sun Yun sneered, then let out a sharp whistle. Instantly, figures surged in the near distance. "Haven’t you always wanted to deal with our Rebirth Sect? Next, we’ll show you just how formidable the Rebirth Sect truly is!"

Seeing the dozen or so Rebirth Sect Martial Artists swarming toward him, a peculiar glint flashed across Tao Dingfang’s face. He let out a light chuckle. "Hah, you finally decided to show yourselves. I thought you wouldn’t dare appear. Since everyone is here, take a look at the grand feast I’ve prepared for you."

"What?" Sun Yun and Zhu Hu stiffened upon hearing this.

Immediately after, they felt the ground begin to rumble. Following the sound, they saw a blinding surge of black light galloping toward them.

"That’s... the Iron Armor Army!"

In the distance, dozens of warriors clad in gleaming iron armor and wielding long spears charged forward like a pack of stampeding beasts. The Iron Armor Army was a terrifying elite force under Hong Yue’s command. Every single member was a Martial Artist. Clad in thick, sturdy iron armor, each of them was easily capable of taking on ten enemies at once!

For them to appear here now brought an indescribable shock to Sun Yun and Zhu Hu.

"Again!" Tao Dingfang let out a low roar and stomped his foot violently. The ground instantly cracked in a spiderweb pattern as his phantom-like figure shot forward.

Seeing this, Sun Yun and Zhu Hu’s eyes darkened, but they still surged forward one after another to engage Tao Dingfang once more. Who would win and who would lose was still completely unknown before the battle ended. All they needed to do now was exert all their strength to kill Tao Dingfang. Even merely crippling him would bring a massive reversal to the current situation.

"Kill!!"
