My Magic Has No Upper Limit
Chapter 431 - 351: Taking the Lion’s Share
Chapter 431: Chapter 351: Taking the Lion’s Share
"Silverpine City sounds really nice."
Zelir chuckled softly but didn’t respond right away.
"I don’t have any plans to leave just yet... but what you’ve said is very tempting. I’ll think about it."
’Of course, I’m not going to stay in Black Stone Town forever.’
The Silverpine City Rolin described, full of opportunities and Challenges with a rich magical atmosphere, certainly sounded like a good place to go.
"I have a feeling."
Rolin smiled slyly. "We’ll meet in Silverpine City one day."
"Perhaps..."
Zelir gave a noncommittal reply.
"Speaking of which, I’ve crossed paths with a Mage from Silverpine City before... Rolin, have you ever heard of Elias?"
Elias.
The Fantasy Mage who caused the out-of-control Magic incident back in Kenta Village.
He had forcibly completed a portion of the Great Creation Skill based on his own ideas and put it into practice.
Of course, in the end, he died in the very Catastrophe he had created.
"Elias...?" Rolin frowned slightly.
"Yes, a Fantasy Mage who was expelled from the Silverpine City Mage’s Guild."
Zelir added a few more details.
"He wandered for a long time before ending up in a village near Black Stone Town, where he caused trouble with out-of-control Magic."
"I was the one who handled it at the time. The Guild paid out quite a bit in compensation... Oh, right, and there was Elias’s teacher, a man named Waldo."
Zelir was quite interested in this master-and-apprentice pair from the Fantasy Faction.
Especially Waldo.
"Oh... Elias and Waldo."
Rolin seemed to be trying to recall something.
After a moment, she shook her head. "I think I might have heard their names in some internal bulletins... but I don’t remember much."
"The Silverpine City Guild is ancient, so its regulations are a bit more relaxed. They don’t go as far as chasing out Fantasy Mages the moment they appear..."
"But since they were expelled, they must have conducted some particularly outrageous and dangerous experiments."
Rolin took it upon herself to investigate.
"How about this: when I get back to Silverpine City, I can look into it for you. If I find anything, I’ll send you a letter. You’re at the Black Stone Town Mage’s Guild, right?"
"Yes."
Zelir gave Rolin a friendly smile. "Thank you. I appreciate you going to the trouble."
"You’re welcome. Consider it repayment for helping me with the pressure from the Dragon Snake during the fight." Rolin winked.
"So the debt is paid that easily, huh?" Zelir raised an eyebrow.
"Well, what else do you want, then?"
Rolin gave a playful smile and leaned forward. "Name it. If it’s within my power, I’ll definitely satisfy you."
"I’m just kidding."
Zelir laughed as well.
"This is what adventuring is like; there are always unexpected situations... I’ll be perfectly happy if Kilian just gives me a bigger cut of the money for this."
"What a shame... I thought you were going to make a more outrageous request." Rolin feigned disappointment.
Redia, who was forcefully tearing off scales and diligently processing the Dragon Snake’s remains, glanced over at Rolin chatting happily with Zelir.
"Tch..."
An annoyed click of her tongue escaped her lips.
"Mage Zelir, Mage Rolin."
Not far away, Kilian waved to the two of them. "Could you come over here for a moment?"
They looked over to see Kilian standing beside several piles of collected Snake Scales.
The sinews had also been extracted and set aside, coiled up in circles, looking a bit like electrical wires.
But what really drew Zelir’s eye were the nine Demon Cores laid out on a soft cloth.
There were five dark, ordinary Demon Cores.
The remaining four were special Demon Cores, each a different color.
The Flame Demon Core was bright red all over and still hot to the touch, radiating a warm energy.
The Frost Demon Core looked as if it were carved from a block of mystical ice.
It continuously condensed the moisture in the air, forming a thin layer of white frost on its surface.
The Shadow Demon Core was pure, pitch-black, and the light around it seemed to dim slightly.
The Rock Demon Core appeared the most unremarkable; an ordinary person might even mistake it for a common stone on the ground.
Only by actually touching it could one feel the deep and heavy Power within.
However, perhaps because the Nine-headed Dragon Snake was still a juvenile, the energy fluctuations from these Demon Cores weren’t particularly strong.
In terms of individual quality, the energy they contained was probably less pure than that of the Medusa Demon Core.
Their only advantage was their quantity.
"This is more or less all the loot."
Kilian said with a serious expression.
"Mage Zelir, you made the greatest contribution in this battle... so, for your share of the reward, how does one-quarter of the total earnings sound?"
’Twenty-five percent, huh...’
Zelir did a quick calculation in his head.
He had no objections and agreed decisively.
"That’s fine."
There were fourteen people in the subjugation party.
He alone was taking 25%, while the other thirteen would split the remaining 75%.
That was already an extremely high share.
"Your Magic is incredibly powerful."
Kilian said earnestly, "I truly hope we’ll have the chance to team up and fight alongside each other again in the future."
"Same here," Zelir replied with a smile.
"I will be turning in all the spoils from the Nine-headed Dragon Snake at the Adventurer’s Association. The officials there will record the prices, which you can also check."
Kilian’s arrangements were very thoughtful.
"If you don’t plan on returning to town with me, then I’ll deposit your and your teammate’s payment at the Adventurer’s Association front desk... You can just go and pick it up yourself then."
"Alright." Zelir nodded.
After a flurry of activity, all the spoils were finally collected.
