Chapter 430: Chapter 350: It’d Be Strange If They Weren’t Good to You (Part 2)

The wound, which should have been a gaping tear, had already healed for the most part on its own.

A dark, dry scab clung to the surface, its edges already curling up as if about to fall off.

’It feels like if Gray just slept a little longer, he’d heal completely by himself.’

’What in the world are Warriors’ bodies made of?’

Zelir shook his head helplessly and casually cast a Healing Skill.

A refreshing green light flowed over, and Healing Energy seeped in.

Pink, new flesh grew over the wound, and soon, there was no sign it had ever been torn open.

Zelir lifted the curtain flap and glanced at the sky outside.

It was now afternoon, and the sun was gradually dipping westward.

The team had set out early in the morning, and they had finished off the Nine-headed Dragon Snake around noon.

’In other words, I’ve only been napping for a few hours.’

A crowd of at least a dozen people had already gathered in the open area in front of the cave.

By the looks of it, they were all Adventurers that Joel and Fletcher had called over to help clean up the battlefield.

The Adventurers who had just arrived to handle the cleanup were all dumbfounded when they saw the colossal remains of the Nine-headed Dragon Snake.

They craned their necks, letting out gasps of awe and disbelief.

’The Nine-headed Dragon Snake was this big...?’

’And a Demon this huge... was actually taken down?’

They couldn’t help but turn and sweep their astonished gazes over the members of the small team.

Under Kilian’s command, the work of collecting the spoils began in an orderly fashion.

The Nine-headed Dragon Snake’s body still had many valuable things on it.

First were the scales, which hadn’t decayed along with the flesh.

Each of these Snake Scales was the size of a washbasin, with edges as sharp as a knife.

Their texture combined the toughness of metal with the lightness of some strange crystal, far beyond what ordinary iron could compare to.

The core scales from the main torso, in particular, had terrifying Defense Power.

These Snake Scales were all rare materials for crafting high-grade Scale Armor.

Then there were the Dragon and Snake Tendons.

Beneath the decaying flesh and blood were long, translucent strips of material, each as thick as an adult’s thigh.

Even detached from the body, they still contracted faintly in a rhythmic pattern.

Their steel-cable-like toughness made them a superior choice for crafting Bed Crossbow Strings or special binding tools.

Finally, of course, were the Dragon Snake’s Demon Cores.

And unlike ordinary Demons, the Nine-headed Dragon Snake had nine Demon Cores in total!

However, the Dragon Snakes that hadn’t grown a special head would likely just have ordinary Demon Cores.

But the ones that did grow special heads would have the even more valuable Elemental Demon Cores inside them!

Without a doubt, these were precious materials for crafting Magic Staffs or Magic Potions of corresponding Attributes!

As Zelir was stretching his body in front of the tent, a gentle voice suddenly sounded beside him.

"You’re awake, Mage Zelir."

He turned his head and saw it was Rolin.

"Ah... I just woke up."

Zelir greeted her, "Good morning... oh, no, good afternoon."

Rolin let out a light chuckle.

Gray emerged from the tent with messy hair, just in time to see Rolin talking with Zelir.

After shooting Zelir a look that said, ’You hopeless case,’ Gray tactfully gave the two of them some space.

"Did you rest well? It seemed like you’d overexerted yourself earlier."

Rolin’s tone was filled with concern. "You’re all muddled from sleep... Are you alright?"

"I’m fine."

Zelir stretched again. "A few more days of rest, and I should be okay."

"Recklessly pushing past your Magic Refill limit can easily leave lasting side effects."

Rolin’s gaze lingered on Zelir’s face for a moment. "You have to be more careful on future adventures."

Zelir’s eyes met Rolin’s for a brief moment.

He suddenly noticed...

’Rolin’s eyes are blue, just like Bev’s.’

’But Bev’s eyes are still a little prettier. They have the magnificent feel of a gemstone.’

"Thanks for your concern."

The two of them chatted idly as they took a leisurely stroll around the edge of the Forest Area.

In the distance, in front of the cave, the hired Adventurers and Marcus’s group were bustling with activity, busy cutting off the scales.

A refreshing breeze blew past from above the cliff face.

The green leaves of the Forest Area behind them rustled, "SWISH SWISH," and Rolin’s sky-blue hair, the color of a clear sky after rain, rose and fell slowly as it drifted in the wind.

"Mage Zelir, I remember you’re from the Black Stone Town Mage’s Guild, right?"

Rolin tucked a windblown strand of hair behind her ear. "It’s rare for a branch to be established in a town... What’s the atmosphere like there?"

"Yes, it’s rare, but the Black Stone Town branch is quite nice."

Zelir smiled. "Everyone is very friendly, and the instructors are very good to me. I like it there a lot."

"It would be strange if they weren’t good to you."

Rolin remarked lightly, "With your talent, if you were at the Silverpine City Mage’s Guild, you’d definitely be treated like a precious treasure."

"Is it that much of an exaggeration?"

"Of course."

Rolin said seriously, "A sixteen-year-old Middle Level Mage is a once-in-a-century genius!"

"That speed already surpasses Kane Rodri. I believe he was eighteen when he became a Middle Level Mage."

Zelir thought for a moment, then shook his head with a low chuckle.

’I guess that’s true...’

"So, Zelir..."

Rolin asked again, a little curious, "Forgive my forwardness, but I wanted to ask... are you really a commoner?"

She just couldn’t associate Zelir with being a commoner.

He had a graceful appearance, a gentle and courteous demeanor, and his natural talent was extraordinary.

And then there were those High Level Magic spells Zelir had cast earlier.

Things like Magic Harmony, and that terrifying Fire-Thunder Interwoven Spear for the final blow.

’No matter how you look at it, those must have cost a lot of Gold Coins to buy, right?’

’Even I would have to think twice about buying such expensive Magic.’

’How could a commoner possibly afford them?’

"I am."

Zelir said casually, reciting the story he had prepared long ago.

"Don’t underestimate Adventurers from common backgrounds... Sometimes, a single fortunate encounter can make you a lot of money."

"Riches often come when you least expect them, and I just happen to be very Lucky."

"Oh... I see." Rolin nodded in understanding.

Zelir, in turn, glanced at Rolin’s Magic Robe and Magic Wand.

’Hmm...’

’It’s all high-grade stuff.’

’Whether it’s the material of the Magic Robe or the faintly shimmering Rune Array on it, they’re all better than mine.’

Rolin’s Magic Wand also looked priceless at a glance, its tip inlaid with a faceted, sea-blue gemstone.

’Much better equipped than Adrian, who’s also a Middle Level Mage.’

’In terms of actual combat, though, Rolin’s performance still isn’t as good as Adrian’s.’

’She doesn’t seem like an experienced Adventurer.’

’Probably a Noble Mage looking to train herself... It’s quite rare for someone like that to dare come alone to a place like Sengu Town.’

"Since you’re at the Silverpine City Mage’s Guild, Rolin, what’s the environment like there?" Zelir asked.

"It’s excellent. City-level Mage’s Guilds are all very large-scale."

As she spoke of Silverpine City, a proud look appeared in Rolin’s eyes, and she began to explain in detail.

"Although I haven’t seen the Black Stone Town Mage’s Guild, Silverpine City’s facilities and personnel are definitely better than what you have there."

"We have a huge library that rivals the Royal Library, all sorts of state-of-the-art Magic Laboratories and Enchantment Workshops, and many Grand Mages permanently stationed there."

"Silverpine City is one of the major cities in the central Sel Kingdom."

"Not only is it rich in resources, but its geographical location is also superior."

"The various unusual environments have given rise to all sorts of strange Demons, so Silverpine City’s Adventurer’s Association is also very well-developed."

As she spoke, Rolin’s gaze turned back to Zelir.

Her sea-blue eyes behind her half-frame glasses looked at Zelir earnestly as she spoke.

"Speaking of which, Zelir... have you ever thought about relocating?"

"To Silverpine City?" Zelir raised an eyebrow slightly.

"Yes, I think it would be a good fit for you."

Rolin smiled faintly. "Black Stone Town is too remote. Your talent deserves to blossom on a grander stage."
