Chapter 410: Chapter 341: Mastery of All Demons

Just as Zelir and Rolin were about to say something more, a sudden, rushing sound of air came from outside the Broken Axe Tavern.

"WHOOSH...!"

It was like a storm passing through.

Immediately following, a piercing, clarion cry rang out, drowning out the clamor within the tavern.

Instinctively, everyone looked out the window in unison.

A swift blast of wind radiated outward, sending flags and loose objects on the street flying.

A massive shadow descended from the sky.

It was a Griffin!

Zelir watched the scene in surprise.

’I can’t believe the Griffin I saw on Pet Beast Street is actually here!’

The magnificent Griffin folded its wings, landing with a lightness and grace that belied its massive frame.

A cloud of dust billowed up from the open ground in front of the tavern.

Its rider vaulted off its back.

He took off his helmet, revealing a head of pale golden hair.

The man was handsome, dressed in a suit of exquisitely crafted, silver-white full Plate Armor. The surface was treated with a matte finish, so it wouldn’t reflect a blinding glare even in the sunlight.

A clan crest of soaring wings was engraved upon the Shoulder Armor and Chest Armor.

The most striking feature, however, was the Plate Armor itself—a faint, liquid light rippled across its surface.

Unquestionably, this was the gleam of Magic!

The entire suit of Plate Armor had been treated with complex Enchanting Arts, undoubtedly granting it a major boost in Defense Power.

The surrounding pedestrians, along with the Adventurers in the tavern, all cast looks of undisguised envy.

The value of the Plate Armor on that man was an astronomical figure, likely more than any of them could earn in a lifetime.

"That’s Kilian, the organizer of this expedition."

Adrian whispered to Zelir, "Oh... right, his full name is Kilian Finn."

"A Noble Knight?" Zelir raised an eyebrow slightly.

"Yes, and from the high Nobility. He’s from the Finn Clan in the central region of the Sel Kingdom—one of the few noble scions with genuine drive."

Adrian chuckled softly.

"He wasn’t lucky enough to become a Mage, so he devoted himself wholeheartedly to cultivating his Fighting Qi."

"But Kilian’s talent is quite impressive."

"He’s not yet thirty and he’s already a Middle Level High Tier Warrior... Plus, his distinguished family allows him to afford extravagant equipment, so his combat prowess is truly astonishing."

"I can tell," Zelir echoed with a soft chuckle.

’Your average Middle Level High Tier Warrior doesn’t make an entrance this flashy.’

’Using a Griffin as a mount, plus that full suit of Plate Armor treated with the Enchanting Art...’

’That’s got to cost at least four figures in Gold Coins, right?’

Another person jumped down from the Griffin’s back, obviously having hitched a ride.

This man was a Mage, perhaps in his thirties, with a stern and unsmiling face that made him seem serious and old-fashioned.

Kilian and the Mage pushed open the tavern doors and walked to the round table.

The Adventurers nearby automatically moved aside to clear a path, the gap in their status immediately apparent.

After all, these two were core members of the Elite Expedition Squad.

A Noble Knight and a Mage.

Kilian naturally stood at the head of the group, his gaze sweeping over everyone present.

He naturally carried the air of a superior; even if Adrian hadn’t mentioned it, Zelir would have guessed he was from the Nobility.

When Kilian saw Zelir’s squad, his gaze paused for a moment.

"Mage Adrian, are these the new members you’ve brought?" Kilian asked.

"Yes."

Adrian gave a slight nod. "This is Zelir, a Middle Level Mage, and his companions."

"A Middle Level Mage...!"

An amazed expression crossed Kilian’s face, and his demeanor became much more polite.

"Such talent at such a young age, Zelir."

A Mage’s status was already on par with that of the Nobility, and on top of that, Zelir was clearly powerful.

Kilian might have seemed imposing, but in truth, his status was the same as theirs.

"I was just thinking that going up against the Nine-headed Dragon Snake with our previous roster was too risky..."

Kilian nodded, satisfied. "But now, it looks like our odds of success have increased dramatically!"

The Middle Level Mage who had followed Kilian inside also let his gaze linger on Zelir for a good while.

Then, he spoke.

"The team should be more or less complete, yes? Any more people, and I won’t be able to guarantee my healing and enhancements for everyone."

More people wasn’t necessarily better. Weaker members would only cause trouble on the battlefield.

It could even lead to unnecessary casualties, which would just frustrate everyone.

To put it bluntly, it would even mean a smaller cut of the rewards for everyone after the battle.

"This should be enough," Kilian nodded slightly.

Now, the team formed with the goal of taking down the Nine-headed Dragon Snake numbered fourteen strong!

They were comprised of Zelir’s squad of five.

Adrian’s squad of four.

Plus the Empowerment Mage, Mage Rolin; Kilian; and two unfamiliar Swordsmen and a Ranger.

This was far beyond the scale of a typical Adventurer Squad, more like a small adventuring company.

"Mage Zelir, you are aware of our objective for this trip, I assume?"

"I am. Adrian has already explained it to me," Zelir nodded.

"Then there’s no problem."

Kilian lightly struck the tabletop with his silver-gauntleted fist, his tone firm and decisive.

"Then, the members of the Elite Expedition Squad are confirmed. The fourteen of us will be the ones to slay that Nine-headed Dragon Snake!"

...

「The meeting moved to a large private room on the second floor of the Broken Axe Tavern.」

After a server finished laying out craft fruit wine and some snacks, they silently exited the room and closed the door.
