My Magic Has No Upper Limit

Chapter 126 - 125: Squad 4

Chapter 126: Chapter 125: Squad 4

Bev was about to turn and speak to Zelir, but she had to look back and give Yanni a smile.

"Yeah, we’re on the same team."

Lante was also quite happy. "Zelir, we’re on the same team!"

"Yeah..."

"Alright, that settles the team assignments."

Lena put away the list.

"Instructor Marvin will lead the First and Second Squads. Instructor Manlin and I will lead the Third and Fourth Squads. Has everyone got that?"

"Understood!" the crowd responded in unison.

"Very good. Go back and prepare. Get yourselves in the right mindset!"

Lena nodded, satisfied.

"Don’t worry about equipment and supplies. We’ll have everything ready in advance. Just show up."

"Meet at the Guild entrance the morning after tomorrow. If you’re late, you can walk to the Hengduan Mountain Range on your own! Dismissed!"

After she finished speaking, Lena didn’t linger. She left the Guild Plaza with Manlin and Instructor Marvin, as if they had other matters to discuss.

"Instructor Lena is quite a character."

Zelir couldn’t help but remark as he watched her leave in a flurry.

"Instructor Lena is a powerful Elemental Mage, specializing in Fire Magic. She was originally in charge of the Guild’s ranking evaluations."

Bev said, "But she was in seclusion for training recently, so she hasn’t been around. That’s why the ranking evaluations were temporarily handed over to Instructor Marvin."

"And even though Instructor Lena seems carefree and blunt, she’s actually very good to her students. She’s extremely protective of her own."

"Oh..."

Zelir gave a slight nod.

’An Upper Level Elemental Mage, on top of that...’

’The magical disciplines of Black Stone Town’s three Upper Level Mages complement each other perfectly. They’ve got the Elemental, Arcane, and Empowerment Magic Systems all covered.’

"Let’s go, Bev!"

Yanni gave the two of them no more opportunity to talk, grabbing Bev’s arm to leave.

"Remember that candy shop we always go to? I heard they have a new kind of candy that changes color. Come on, let’s go check it out."

"Alright, alright..."

Bev was practically dragged away. "Zelir, I’m leaving now!"

"Well, Zelir, I’m going to head back and prepare too,"

Lante took this as his cue to leave. "Let’s do our best during the Monster Hunt!"

"Okay."

After returning from the Guild, Zelir thought for a moment and realized he didn’t really have much to prepare.

’I have my Magic Wand and Longsword. As for Magic Potions... with an Upper Level Empowerment Mage leading the team, would we really be lacking those?’

The Guild was even providing all the logistical supplies, like tents and other camping gear.

All he had to do was rest up and get himself in peak condition.

The next day, Zelir found some time to check on Marcus and the others who would be traveling with them.

Compared to Zelir’s composure, Marcus and his friends were considerably more tense.

Marcus was repeatedly inspecting his new equipment, which included a Fine Steel Battle Saber and a Composite Shield.

Valles had stuffed his quiver to the brim with arrows and was constantly practice-drawing his bow.

Even Gray, who was usually the most lackadaisical of the group, had sworn off alcohol for the time being. He was in the courtyard, silently practicing basic sword techniques.

’Alright, it looks like they’re taking this seriously after all.’

...

「The day of departure.」

「Early morning.」

A large number of carriages and Adventurers had gathered in the open space in front of the Mage’s Guild.

Many Adventurers stood solemnly to the side. They were all members of the Escort Team for this expedition.

In addition, large piles of supplies lay on the ground.

There were waterproof tents, bundles of sleeping bags, pre-portioned dry rations, and various other essential tools for the wilderness.

"Come on, let’s have some introductions!"

With a cheerful shout, Instructor Lena clapped her hands.

She motioned for the Mages of the Third and Fourth Squads to gather around, then pointed to several Adventurers beside her who radiated powerful auras.

"These are the elite members of the Escort Team who will be joining us. Go ahead and introduce yourselves."

A bald, powerfully built man with a thick, bushy beard stepped forward. He was even more burly than Gak, with knotted muscles that looked as if they were forged from steel.

"I’m Hank, Upper Level Warrior."

Hank’s voice boomed like a bell. "For this hunt, I’m in charge of your safety."

An incredibly wide and thick Tower Shield leaned beside him. At a glance, you might mistake it for a door.

Judging by the shield’s presence alone, its Defense Power couldn’t be low, and it was definitely not something an ordinary person could wield.

It was covered in battle scars. Along the metal trim of the shield’s edge, a faint blue light occasionally pulsed, suggesting it was a powerful enchanted weapon.

Standing next to Hank was another Adventurer.

To Zelir’s surprise, she was a woman.

"I’m Yisi. Upper Level Warrior."

Yisi’s voice was crisp and clear, without a hint of hesitation. "I use Dual Swords. I specialize in assault."

Yisi had practical, ear-length purple hair, sharp features, and a pair of piercing brown eyes filled with confidence.

She wore form-fitting black Leather Armor that highlighted her explosive muscle tone, without a single trace of excess fat.

It was clearly the physique of someone who regularly engaged in high-intensity training.

Zelir had hardly ever seen a female Adventurer at the Adventurer’s Association. Hill was a rare exception.

"Hank and Yisi, like Instructor Manlin and myself, are here as insurance for this operation. They won’t engage in combat directly unless absolutely necessary."

Lena continued, her voice ringing out.

"The main purpose of this Monster Hunt is to give you firsthand experience, to see just how brutal the battles you might face in the future can be!"

"Now, these are the Adventurers who will actually be fighting alongside you."

Lena’s arm gestured toward another group of Adventurers standing in neat formation.

Zelir couldn’t have been more familiar with these faces.

"Marcus, Middle Level Warrior."

"Valles, Middle Level Ranger."

"Gray, Junior Warrior."

The three introduced themselves one by one with composure. They had all been assigned to Zelir’s group.

Just as expected, when Gray announced his rank, a few of the nearby Mages looked confused.

’Why is there a Junior Warrior here?’

Feeling those stares, Zelir himself felt his face flush a little.

But Gray was truly thick-skinned. Zelir saw that his expression was calm and unbothered, showing no hint of embarrassment whatsoever.

There was also one new member.

"Rivaya, Middle Level Assassin."

A raspy voice spoke up.

The man was gaunt and skinny, with hollow cheeks and a face that seemed to cave inward.

The members of the group led by Lena and Manlin, aside from Zelir’s Fourth Squad and the Escort Team of Adventurers, also included the Third Squad.

Zelir recognized Leiden, the Mage leading the Third Squad.

He was the Junior Mage who had been casting Arcane Missiles the first time Zelir visited the Martial Arts Arena.
