Dry farmland was much easier to prepare than a paddy field. Joo Joowon simply extended the spider silk more than twenty centimeters underground and slowly turned the soil over. Since the land had already been burned several times, there were no roots, stems, or seeds left in it, so the work was completed very quickly.

He followed the grids shown by the phantom image and carefully shaped the farmland into neat, regular plots. He finished almost all of it in less than half an hour, which made Joo Joowon unable to help but marvel at the efficiency of a transcendent when put to work in production.

After completing the basic shape of the farmland, Joo Joowon went to cut down some trees.

He did not even need to buy something like an axe. He continued using spider silk to cut everything into the required pieces, then made the fence according to the shape shown by the phantom image before placing it over the fence’s phantom.

The phantom flickered for a moment before directly merging into the farmland Joo Joowon had cultivated. In almost the blink of an eye, everything in front of him underwent a complete transformation. The fence no longer had sharp spikes sticking out of it, and the shabby-looking farmland now finally looked like a proper farm.

Joo Joowon could not help thinking that this was what a game was supposed to look like!

"Tori, come over here quickly."

Joo Joowon waved at it.

Tori shook its leaves, pulled itself out of the soil, and walked over to Joo Joowon. After looking at the farmland in front of it, it could not help but feel a little confused.

As a weed, foxtail grass, just like a cactus, was not very picky about the condition of the soil. However, it could still tell whether the soil was good or bad. So how had the condition of the soil here suddenly become so much better?

Thinking about what Joo Joowon had just done, Tori could not help but reassess his abilities.

To be honest, whether Joo Joowon was strong or not did not matter to Tori. No matter how strong he was, he could not kill it anyway. But if he possessed this kind of ability, then perhaps it really could settle down here permanently?

Tori really liked lively, thriving scenes. It was just that reality had never allowed it to have one.

Joo Joowon opened the building interface, entered the farmland, moved Tori inside, and confirmed its residence.

Tori froze for a moment. Its leaves moved around in confusion as it touched the panel.

What was this thing?

[ Farmland ]

[ Status: Not Planted (Automatically warns the resident unit when conditions such as drought, excessive moisture, pests, or poor soil occur.) ]

Joo Joowon took out a dodder seed and handed it to it. "Oh, right. You can try planting this seed. If you can’t get it to grow, then forget about it."

The seed was rare quality, while the farmland was only common quality, so it seemed that the farmland might not be capable of supporting it. However, Joo Joowon did not really care. The seed would just be sitting around anyway, so there was no harm in taking it out and trying to plant it.

Tori accepted the seed. The seed was slightly carbonized and contained almost no vitality. Just by looking at it, it did not seem like something that could possibly germinate.

"As for the rest of the land, you can plant whatever you want. Just leave me a little space to grow some green onions."

Other than cat grass, Joo Joowon had not grown anything for many years. He did not trust his own ability to farm either, so he only planned to casually plant easy-to-grow crops like green onions and chives. That way, whenever he needed them for cooking, he could simply pick a handful and bring them back.

As for anything else, Joo Joowon was not counting on it for now. If Tori was interested, he could go buy a farming skill book for it later. After all, he could not rely on himself or the cats.

The supplies he had collected were still enough to eat for now. In the future, whenever he entered the nature reserve and had some free time, he could pick some wild vegetables and bring them back. As for everything else, he would think about it later. He did not have much energy to spend on farming at the moment. He would deal with the task first and worry about the rest afterward.

After giving Tori his instructions, Joo Joowon left, leaving it standing there and staring at the farmland in confusion.

As a weed, if it grew in farmland, it would definitely be pulled out by people. Yet now, Joo Joowon had taken the initiative to let it move in, which left it feeling somewhat lost.

So... what could it plant?

Tori looked at the dodder seed. After thinking for a while, it found a suitable spot and planted it. Then it shook its leaves and squeezed out a few drops of milky-white juice, making the soil moist. After that, it simply stayed beside the seed and began spacing out.

Whether the seed could actually sprout was something Tori did not know.

There was simply no knowledge of this sort in its memories.

In the memory of foxtail grass, as long as there was a chance for its seeds to fall onto soil, it could potentially grow regardless of how barren the land was or how harsh the environment was.

But as for what would happen to other plants, it had no idea. After all, it had never planted anything before. Instead, it had competed with other plants for nutrients underground.

As long as it could live, it would live. If it could not, then so be it. If that human decided to cause trouble for it, it could simply fake its own death and escape.

By the time Joo Joowon finished cultivating the farmland and returned, Byeol and Hwi had already finished communicating. More accurately, they had probably finished fighting.
