My God-Level System Can Rebuild Civilization in the Apocalypse!
Chapter 329: Byeol and Hwi
Because of the price, he hadn’t directly purchased an all-purpose robot. However, after he put away the bowls and chopsticks, the sensing device built into the kitchen would automatically detect the dirty dishes and wash them. Compared with having a robot, it wasn’t actually much less convenient.
These smart home products were considered old-fashioned antiques in Seong Seungmin’s world, which was quite technologically advanced. However, they were not some kind of useless artificial intelligence. At the very least, they were far more advanced than the technology available in Joo Joowon’s world, and they were still very convenient. He did not need to worry about things like keeping the house clean and hygienic.
After putting everything away, Joo Joowon picked up Hwi and carried him into the bathroom, where he thoroughly scrubbed him clean.
All the water used in the Lord’s Manor had been filtered, and the source was relatively safe underground water. The Domain Core would also automatically monitor pollution and other problems within the territory, basically ensuring the safety of the food and water.
After washing the filthy Hwi clean, Joo Joowon could finally hug him without any worries. Hwi’s fur did not feel as nice as Byeol’s when touched, but he had the advantage of being much larger. His body was full of soft flesh when squeezed, without anything poking into Joo Joowon’s hands, so petting him was still extremely satisfying.
Byeol was very dissatisfied with Joo Joowon’s behavior of favoring something new and neglecting the old. Even the grumbling sounds he made while sharpening his claws had become as loud as the loud cries of an ordinary cat in heat.
Joo Joowon felt that Byeol was probably cursing quite badly, so he did not even have the thought of looking at the translator.
Anyway, as long as he could not understand it, he could simply pretend he had not heard anything.
After petting the cat for a while, Joo Joowon’s heavy mood eased somewhat. He then returned to the bedroom, opened the roof, and looked at the starry sky while practicing his abilities.
According to what was written in the Astral Palace, the cultivation time for transcendents who followed the Astrologer system was best arranged at night, as this allowed them to better comprehend the celestial phenomena.
Previously, Joo Joowon had thought that this statement was more or less similar to a psychological suggestion. Only now did he discover that in the supernatural world, the power of the stars at night was indeed much more obvious than during the day.
A Tier 1 transcendent still could not completely escape their biological needs. They would still become sleepy, tired, and thirsty, but they could persist for much longer than ordinary people.
Even so, the difference between them and ordinary people was already enormous. Therefore, Joo Joowon decided that from now on, he needed to become more accustomed to the life of a transcendent. He would sleep only one night a week and use the rest of his time to improve himself.
Seeing Joo Joowon get into bed, Byeol finally followed after him.
Because he was still angry, when he jumped onto the bed, he even deliberately chose Joo Joowon’s stomach as his landing spot. If this had been Joo Joowon’s body from before, that jump would have been enough to break his bones.
However, if Joo Joowon still had his former physical condition, Byeol probably would not have done something like this. At most, he would secretly mess with him while he was asleep, or directly poop in the bedroom when he needed to go.
Byeol really had a history of doing things like that!
With Joo Joowon’s exceptionally good quality of sleep, even he had once been woken up by the smell and smoked until he cried. It could be said that Byeol had done every kind of bad thing imaginable.
...
Without waiting for the sky to become completely bright, Joo Joowon woke Hwi up in the middle of the night.
He remembered that in the wilderness, dawn and dusk seemed to be the golden periods for hunting. Many large carnivorous animals would come out to hunt during those times, so Joo Joowon decided to head to Hwarim Nature Reserve right now.
However, the main purpose of this trip was not actually hunting, but mapping out the area. That way, he would know where to go later when he needed to grind experience or search for prey.
When Joo Joowon had browsed the Player Forum yesterday, he had not only gathered information about Player Qualification. He had also paid attention to many of the game’s basic settings.
For example, aside from the experience monsters that had been designated when the game descended, other creatures possessing supernatural powers had all absorbed the game’s power and increased their strength on their own. They belonged to the "safe and harmless" edible category.
Of course, this safety was relative to players who possessed professions. If ordinary people ate them, there was still a possibility that they could literally eat themselves to death.
Hwi was still a little sleepy. Cats were creatures that were active at night and rested during the day. However, after following Joo Joowon and staying awake during the day for the past few days, his daily routine had also been changed somewhat.
However, Hwi really had stayed up late last night.
This had nothing to do with Joo Joowon. Rather, Hwi could always feel Byeol’s cold, gloomy gaze watching him from the darkness, which made him feel a chill.
Over the long term, Byeol had established a certain authority over Hwi in his heart. Under that kind of gaze, Hwi simply could not sleep peacefully. He was forced to stay awake all night, always feeling that Byeol would come over and beat him up the moment his guard dropped.
Although Byeol was small in size, Hwi did not know why, but every time they fought, he was always the one who ended up suffering.
Clearly, he had the advantage every single time.
