Chapter 209: A Warning

At best, they might recover a few handguns.

On top of that, police stations themselves had been crowded places during the early hours of the apocalypse.

Naturally, they would now be filled with large numbers of zombies.

Entering one carried tremendous risk and even then they might leave empty handed.

Besides, several days had already passed since the apocalypse began.

How could locations capable of providing highly destructive weapons possibly have escaped everyone’s attention?

Even if no one else had reached them, players who had originally been police officers or worked in similar professions would almost certainly have taken advantage of their familiarity with those locations long before anyone else.

Many things were only known to the people who owned them.

Only they knew where they would have put them.

However, Joo Joowon understood what Jin Hunseok meant and shook his head in refusal.

"No. I’m used to being on my own."

Jin Hunseok looked somewhat disappointed when he heard that.

However, given Joo Joowon’s strength at this stage, he really did not need teammates.

Even if he did, he would probably prefer companions who were powerful enough not to hold him back.

As for people like them, who had already lost their fighting spirit and most of whom still had families to take care of, it was only natural that someone like Joo Joowon would not be interested.

He was not trying to scare them.

Everyone was laughing, chatting, and talking nonstop.

The noise they made was no different from office workers chatting during breaks before the apocalypse.

With Joo Joowon’s current five senses, he could hear all of it without even using his spiritual power, let alone zombies with their sharp hearing.

When he had previously been surrounded by elite monsters, he had also seen some of them flee immediately after realizing the situation had turned against them.

On top of that, Sabi City’s population had always been extremely dense.

Even if an elite monster was killed, another would likely fill its place before long.

If those monsters ever became bored with hunting isolated survivors and instead started targeting groups of players gathered together, these people would have little chance of escaping.

Perhaps they were cautious enough while outside, but because the nearby zombies had already been cleared away, they had become too comfortable with their surroundings.

It was as though they had returned to life before the apocalypse.

That way of thinking was extremely dangerous.

Only places where several hundred or even several thousand people had gathered would make ordinary elite monsters and bosses think twice before attacking. But for a small group like this, what was there for them to fear?

To those monsters, they were nothing more than a huge piece of fresh meat.

Of course, out of caution, elite monsters that hunted alone generally would not approach an organized group.

However, that only applied to solitary zombie types.

Joo Joowon had not forgotten that there was still a flock of birds nearby.

Although Byeol and Hwi had killed several of them, the leader of the flock was most likely still alive.

The residential buildings like these had always been "food respawn zones" for many zombies.

Compared to the shops lining the streets, far more zombies naturally gathered around apartment buildings.

Therefore, the floors that remained quiet were much less likely to be targeted, while building three had a very high chance of attracting attention.

Perhaps because Jin Hunseok and his group were staying in this building, the nearby survivors felt that it was safer here.

One after another, they voluntarily moved into the building and gradually turning it into a gathering place for the living.

People were staying on both the upper and lower floors.

Jin Hunseok and the others had never tried to stop them.

Perhaps they were worried about provoking public resentment or perhaps they simply did not care.

If Joo Joowon were a zombie, he would never let a place like this go.

There would be no need to search room by room.

He could eat until he was completely satisfied.

Who would pass up such a perfect feeding ground?

Even though ordinary elite monsters were not particularly intelligent, and normal bosses might only possess the intelligence of a seven or eight year old child, they did not need any complicated tactics.

Could they not simply surrounded them and then attack their prey?

Who could not command a few underlings?

It was also possible that the monsters would see so many people gathered together and become too cautious to approach.

If they were given enough time, this place might actually develop into a human settlement.

If the elite monsters were really going to come, they should have arrived long ago.

There was no reason they would leave everyone in peace for so long.
