Chapter 66: I’ll kill you bastards!"

"Bitch!"

Wiping the blood from his nose with his hand, the bulky guy charged straight at the Senior (Maya).

"No—!"

The word couldn’t even fully escape Himanshu’s mouth. He was just a second too late to process it, and by then, the guy had already reached right in front of the senior.

The guy threw a punch straight at her stomach with all his might. He screamed like he wanted to take revenge for all his humiliation in that single strike.

But as terrifyingly fast as his attack was... the senior had already side-stepped in the blink of an eye. Losing his balance, the heavy guy crashed face-first straight onto the floor.

It looked like the senior already knew exactly where and how the attack was coming. Otherwise, no normal human could dodge such a fast strike that easily. That was the only logic Himanshu could think of to make sense of it.

Seeing this, Himanshu stopped right in his tracks. His feet were glued to the floor.

Just then, the growls and terrifying heavy footsteps of the other five guys started closing in fast inside the cafe.

Without panicking, the senior grabbed a brass tray from a nearby table, held it up like a shield, and blocked the second guy’s sharp attack. The very next second, her kick landed on the third guy. Just as the fourth guy raised his hand, the first guy started putting all his weight onto the tray.

Without wasting a single moment, the senior’s eyes gave Himanshu a split-second hint of what she was about to do. She tilted the tray slightly, deflected the guy’s force, and slammed the hard corner of that brass tray right into the fourth guy’s stomach.

The guy dropped to the floor, holding his stomach and screaming in pain.

The fifth guy, who was moving forward, suddenly froze.

At first, Himanshu didn’t understand why. But as soon as that guy saw his four buddies biting the dust on the floor, it became obvious. Anyone’s confidence would turn into pure fear in an instant, and that’s probably exactly what happened to him.

The sixth guy, the one Himanshu had kicked earlier, hadn’t even fully recovered yet. And even if he had, seeing all this, he had zero guts left to step forward.

But as two or three seconds passed, the thugs started getting back up, holding their bruises. Three of them had their egos completely shattered already. But for the other three... getting beaten up by a girl like this was no less than their self-respect getting ripped to shreds. The fight had now reached a deadly turning point.

Suddenly, the bulky guy who had fallen in the back got up like a maniac.

"I won’t let you go... I’ll kill you bastards!"

Until now, Himanshu was just standing there like a useless bystander because he realized that getting in the middle would only cause more trouble for the senior. And somewhere, the senior’s body language made it look like she could handle all of them by herself.

But those insane, manic words from the bulky guy triggered Himanshu’s fear and the guilt burning inside him.

The senior was busy fighting off two guys, and that bulky guy started sprinting towards her back to deliver a fatal blow.

This time... Himanshu jumped into action before he could even think.

The senior was dodging front attacks using that tray. She probably should have guessed that someone was coming to attack her from behind. But looking at her face, it didn’t seem like she knew, and that was enough to stop Himanshu’s heartbeat and make him jump right in the middle.

And the very next moment... a horrifying silence fell over the cafe.

The air suddenly felt suffocating. The two guys fighting just froze, their hands stopped in mid-air, and their eyes were wide open in shock.

A low, pain-filled groan escaped from inside Himanshu’s body.

Blood started flowing, dripping onto the floor... drip... drip...

The bulky guy knitted his brows and gritted his teeth.

Just then, Maya’s trembling voice came from behind.

"No...!"

She shoved those two guys away hard and kicked the bulky guy, throwing him away from Himanshu.

Because... Himanshu had blocked that deadly knife strike with the palm of his hand.

His hand was completely pierced. The knife had gone right through his palm, and the blood-soaked blade was stuck right there.

The next second, Himanshu dropped to his knees in agony. The pain was so sharp and deep that bearing it felt almost impossible now.

Seeing the flowing blood, those thugs’ anger turned into pure terror in a split second, they didn’t even realize it. The three guys who had already given up were the first ones to start pulling their buddies to get them out of there.

The bulky guy’s anger was still boiling just the same, but his friends dragged him outside.

The senior was quickly trying to stop the bleeding from Himanshu’s hand with a cloth. That fighter persona was gone from her face now... instead, fear, pity, and a terrible guilt were clearly visible.

And just then... Himanshu’s eyes looked right past the senior towards the cafe’s gate.

Holding a black plastic bag, the demon was standing at the gate.

There was absolutely no expression on her face. She was just staring at Himanshu with those empty eyes. Without blinking even once.

For some reason... the pain of the knife shoved in his hand suddenly grew a lot worse. It felt like he had taken this pain upon himself for absolutely no reason.

As they were leaving, the thugs glared at the calmly standing demon as if this was all her doing. But the demon didn’t even look back at them once.

Seeing this, Himanshu, still sitting on the floor, gritted his teeth hard.

He wanted the demon to at least glare at those guys with some anger. But she reacted like she didn’t even exist. She acted like a lifeless puppet.

And this very thing... proved it in Himanshu’s mind that she really was one of those girls from that hellhole. Or maybe... worse than a cheap robot, with no real existence of her own, no thoughts of her own.

Slowly... Himanshu’s pain started getting so bad that everything started blurring in front of his eyes. The ceiling of the cafe started looking all distorted to him, like ripples forming after throwing a stone into water.

And the very next second... Himanshu’s pain completely vanished. He felt like he was comfortably lying in his own bed.

It was obvious... he had slipped into the deep darkness of unconsciousness.
