Chapter 138: Chapter 136: Atmosphere of a Suspected Chaotic Scene
He set aside the system notification for the moment and looked toward the source of the voice.
Li Heng looked up. The familiar voice belonged to none other than Bao Yaoyao, who had previously brought her parents to visit his home.
She wore a pink floor-length dress, her long hair coiled up and held in place by a silver hairpin. Although she was in traditional attire, her figure was still exquisite.
"Hello, Bao Yaoyao!"
Watching Bao Yaoyao’s path, Li Heng more or less guessed that she must also be in the Comprehensive Department.
It dawned on him then. The two girls who had asked him about their college applications hadn’t just enrolled in the same university as him—they had even chosen the exact same department.
To be honest, just thinking about it made Li Heng happy. After all, it meant that, to some extent, both of these pretty girls, Bai Shasha and Bao Yaoyao, were quite "interested" in him.
Being the center of attention for pretty girls was always a pleasant feeling.
But after that moment of happiness, Li Heng seemed to sense something. His heart suddenly tightened, and he shifted his gaze from Bao Yaoyao to Bai Shasha, who was standing beside him.
Li Heng saw Bai Shasha staring at Bao Yaoyao. The petite, flat-chested girl’s expression was calm enough, but he could tell her breathing had become slightly ragged.
When facing the Frost Spider, or even when surrounded by soul beasts, the petite girl had always been perfectly composed. Losing control of her breathing was unheard of for her. But facing Bao Yaoyao, Bai Shasha was definitely flustered.
After glancing at Bai Shasha, Li Heng caught a glimpse of Bao Yaoyao out of the corner of his eye. Her gaze, too, was fixed on the petite girl.
He wasn’t sure why, but even though Li Heng had no romantic intentions toward either girl at the moment, he still held a favorable impression of them both.
After all, both girls were quite attractive, and their figures represented two opposite extremes.
Yet now, for some unknown reason, Li Heng felt as if he had stumbled into some kind of Chaotic Scene. The atmosphere had become subtly tense.
"Allow me to introduce you. This is my high school classmate, Bai Shasha. And this is a companion I met during the secret realm entrance exam, Bao Yaoyao!"
After a moment’s pause, Li Heng was the first to come to his senses, and he proceeded to make the introductions between them.
"Hello! I’m Bao Yaoyao, from Peony City. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Bai Tongxue!"
"Hello."
Compared to Bai Shasha, Bao Yaoyao was a bit more enthusiastic and outgoing, while Bai Shasha seemed relatively silent and reserved.
But even though Bai Shasha had only said a single word, she proactively extended her hand to shake Bao Yaoyao’s.
And so, the two girls’ first meeting concluded on relatively pleasant terms. Still, Li Heng couldn’t shake the feeling that something was strange. He didn’t say anything, however, and just lowered his head and kept walking forward.
After all, the priority right now was to complete the department assignment; other matters could be put on hold.
After the introductions, the three of them headed toward the Comprehensive Department’s freshman assembly point together. As if by some unspoken agreement, Bai Shasha and Bao Yaoyao flanked Li Heng, one on his left and one on his right, sandwiching him between them as they walked at a steady pace.
’This feeling... it’s really weird! We’re not even in a relationship, so how did this turn into a Chaotic Scene?’
After silently complaining to himself about the situation, Li Heng could only bite the bullet and maintain his pace.
"Hello, Teacher Wen!" x3
Just as Li Heng and the two girls entered the Comprehensive Department’s assembly point and greeted Wen Ruyan, she suddenly stopped Li Heng.
"You must be Li Heng! Your realm is quite impressive! It seems Lu Shengming’s efforts, arguing with the school on your behalf for days, were not in vain. For now, stay by my side. You two young ladies can stay as well! Oh, and welcome to the Comprehensive Department!"
Wen Ruyan had a smile on her face and a lovely voice, but hidden within its pleasantness was a hint of majesty. Both Bao Yaoyao’s and Bai Shasha’s bodies froze involuntarily, and they stopped dead in their tracks.
In that first instant, Li Heng also felt his heart tremble and subconsciously wanted to stop. However, the urge lasted only for a moment before vanishing as if it had never been there.
Even though the feeling came and went in a flash, Li Heng realized that this teacher, Wen Ruyan, probably possessed the highest cultivation realm he had ever encountered.
A single sentence from her was enough to make his heart tremble!
This was something that hadn’t even happened when he faced Bao Yaoyao’s father. And that was despite Bao Yongyan deliberately restraining his presence around Li Heng. Because of this, Li Heng suspected...
...this Teacher Wen Ruyan’s realm was, at the very minimum, at the level of a Soul Energy Grandmaster!
He had his suspicions, but he said nothing more, his expression remaining unchanged. He simply stood quietly beside Wen Ruyan.
The freshmen assembled with decent efficiency. The open ground used to dock the Flying Boat was also extremely spacious. After the assembly was complete, the Flying Boat and the new students were completely separated, with an empty lane of ground left between them, drawing a clear line.
Among Meteor University’s five major first-year departments this year, the Weapons Department had the most students, with over 350 people. The Support Department had the fewest, with just a little over 200.
However, once all the freshmen had assembled, the teachers said nothing more and simply stood there waiting in silence. A few bolder students went to ask their bishop teachers what they were waiting for. All five bishop teachers replied that they were waiting for the freshman opening ceremony.
The freshman opening ceremony?!
Most of the students were shocked to hear the bishop teachers mention the opening ceremony!
This was only their first day at the university, and they had already received enough information to take some time to digest.
Many even had lingering questions and felt a degree of apprehension about the secret realm in which Meteor University was located.
But they never expected Meteor University’s schedule to be so intense. Students were picked up just a week after their scores were released, and immediately after, they were unceremoniously shoved into a university built inside a secret realm.
Then, the moment they set foot on campus, the school rules were explained in a slapdash manner, with no regard for whether the students had understood before the staff moved on to the next arrangements.
Even the department assignments and the opening ceremony were being done all in one go, transitioning from one to the next seamlessly.
Any other university would have at least provided some buffer time for students to handle personal affairs, not to mention rest for a day or two.
But since they were already here, most students just complained silently to themselves and didn’t bother asking any more questions.
Because before long, another figure came soaring through the air from the depths of the city. This person wasn’t flying on an artifact or a tamed beast.
The figure moved with incredible speed, landing in the clearing between the Flying Boat and the students in the blink of an eye.
He was a slightly portly, middle-aged man with a prosperous air about him.
"I formally welcome all of you to Meteor University! I am Dong Wenhui, the vice-principal of Meteor University!"
