Chapter 134: Chapter 132: At the Meteor Star School Gate
The Flying Boat led by Lu Shengming was scheduled to stop in the cities of Maple City, Gongtong City, Ginkgo City, Xiangzhang City, Pine Forest City, and Furong City.
The Flying Boat had a maximum capacity of 100 people. Besides the designated crew members, there were over 70 rooms available for students.
In the end, a total of 69 students from the six cities boarded, leaving some rooms vacant.
But this year’s Flying Boat saw a situation that had never occurred before. For the students, the first ten rooms were the best of all, especially since they came with bonus academic credits.
However, by the time they arrived at Meteor University’s new campus, only the latter six of the top ten rooms were occupied by students.
The first four rooms were completely empty!
The top ten rooms not being full was an unprecedented situation in the history of new students boarding the vessel.
Among those who boarded the Flying Boat from the subsequent cities of Xiangzhang City, Pine Forest City, and Furong City, there were some powerful individuals, including one student who had scored over 2,000 points.
But none of them chose any of the first four rooms, opting instead to select from the ones that followed.
It was also worth noting that no student from the next three cities challenged Li Heng for his Room 5. The competition was centered only on the five rooms after his: numbers six, seven, eight, nine, and ten.
Bai Shasha, Chen Bingjing, and Lu Bichuan were all challenged for their rooms, but they successfully defended their spots.
As for Room 9, which had belonged to Qian Yun, it was taken by a female student from Furong City.
Room 10, which was Jiang Jin’s, was claimed by a male student from Pine Forest City.
After securing their spots in the top ten, both the male student from Pine Forest City and the female student from Furong City politely went to Room 5 to greet Li Heng. They also expressed their hope that he would look out for them in the future.
Although Li Heng didn’t know them, he simply smiled and replied with equal courtesy.
The Flying Boat sailed through the sky for five days. On the afternoon of the fifth day, all the students gathered on deck.
The Flying Boat had arrived in Bauhinia City, the home of Meteor University.
"It’s a Flying Boat! So many Flying Boats!"
"Oh my god! They’re so beautiful!"
"I’m definitely posting this!"
...
The moment the Flying Boat entered Bauhinia City’s airspace, the students on deck gasped in amazement, immediately pulling out their phones to take pictures.
The scene before them was utterly breathtaking. When they first saw their own Flying Boat, they had already thought it was enormous and imposing.
But if one Flying Boat was that impressive, what about the sight that now filled their vision: one massive Flying Boat after another!
Like a flock of adjacent butterflies, they "fluttered" slowly across the skies of Bauhinia City.
Li Heng also found it somewhat surreal. The other students might not have known, but he understood the true value of a Flying Boat!
To Li Heng, the objects flying through the sky were not just boats; they were legendary-tier Soul Energy Items, one after another!
"I originally thought Meteor University was just rich. But looking at this... they’re absurdly loaded!"
There were students who "knew their stuff," and seeing one Flying Boat after another passing by, they couldn’t help but marvel.
"All flash and no substance! With all this effort, couldn’t they have just used airplanes or blimps?" There’s always a contrarian in any group, and one of them suddenly piped up with a complaint, perhaps because the dense cluster of ships was getting to them.
But regardless of anyone’s attitude, the annual gathering of the Flying Boats was a major event for Bauhinia City. It also signified that Meteor University was welcoming its new first-year students.
The citizens of Bauhinia City seemed accustomed to the Flying Boats in the sky. They skillfully pulled out their phones to take pictures before launching into all sorts of commentary.
At the same time, some citizens were whispering amongst themselves. As their conversations deepened, their expressions turned a little strange.
The students aboard the Flying Boats, however, were oblivious to the discussions among the citizens of Bauhinia City below. For them, the distant Meteor University was the university they had all been waiting for!
After all, university meant a whole new life—a chance to meet new friends, learn new things, and experience a new phase of their lives.
And for students of a Soul Energy University, starting their studies also meant they would soon be entering new secret realms!
The Flying Boat passed over Bauhinia City, eventually crossing the entire metropolis to reach the suburbs. There, in the distance, the students saw a "school gate" with a rather ancient design.
From a distance, the gate looked like an ancient city gate and was incredibly tall. As the Flying Boat drew closer, the students’ attention was first drawn to a banner hanging on the city-gate-style entrance.
"Welcome, outstanding students of the Alliance, to Meteor University."
"This is the main gate of Meteor University! Beyond this gate lies the university you’ve enrolled in!"
As each Flying Boat came to a stop before the gate, the "chaperoning teacher" on board began their introduction to the students on deck.
With a mix of emotions, the students stared at the towering "school gate" before them. In the very center of the gate hung a gilded plaque, inscribed with the two words: "Meteor Star"!
It was enormous, and utterly extravagant!
Say what you will, but the first impression of Meteor University’s gate was absolutely imposing. Just like the Flying Boats they had sent out, it made a very grand statement.
However, the gate also "continued" the city-gate theme. The surrounding area was completely enclosed by high city walls, and two massive gates sealed the entrance tightly!
The Flying Boat had already lowered its altitude and come to a complete stop, so the students couldn’t see what the inside of Meteor University looked like from the air.
Before this, ninety percent of the students had looked up information about Meteor University online. They knew that the campus architecture was described as being entirely retro.
And the image that appeared most often was this very same luxurious and solemn "city-wall school gate"!
So now, seeing the tightly shut gates of Meteor University, the students aboard the Flying Boat were filled with anticipation!
Their curiosity about what Meteor University was actually like inside had reached its peak.
On Li Heng’s Flying Boat, after Lu Shengming finished his introduction of the Meteor University gate, he gestured with his right hand. At his signal, the crew members brought out sets of ancient-style clothing.
Long robes for the boys, long dresses for the girls.
Watching the crew’s actions and the traditional garments they were presenting, the students were all a bit dumbfounded, having no idea what was going on.
One of the more high-spirited students joked, "Teacher Lu... do we have to cosplay to get into Meteor University?"
Hearing the student’s question, Lu Shengming’s lips curved into a smile. He nodded at the student and then announced in a clear voice.
"To enter Meteor University, you don’t just have to wear ancient clothing. Next... I will be telling you all a few of Meteor University’s school rules! And don’t you worry, our school is quite good at keeping secrets!"
