Chapter 104: Chapter 104: God-tier Dungeon

Blood Soul Wolf Fang Bracelet: +7 deterrence against wolves.

Wolf Soul Mark: +5 deterrence against wolves.

In terms of deterrence alone, that was a total of 12 points.

Li Heng remembered clearly that when his deterrence against wolves was only 5, the Blood Wolves in normal Dungeons would flee on sight.

But now, with 12 points of deterrence, these two Blood Wolves showed no fear at all. Instead, they bared their fangs at Li Heng, mist churning around their bodies.

Previously, two Blood Wolves would have been nothing more than easy EXP for Li Heng. But now, he had the unsettling feeling that, from the way they were looking at him, he was the one who was the walking pile of EXP.

But after getting a clear look at the two Blood Wolves’ stats, Li Heng understood why.

The Blessing of the Blood Wolf God!

The Oppression of the Blood Wolf God!

It had not only greatly boosted the two Blood Wolves’ stats, but had also granted them an extra skill. This skill, he suspected, was the source of the pressure he was feeling.

"Ghost Butterfly Illusion Sword!"

Li Heng struck first. The moment he swung his Empty Cicada Longsword, shimmering silver butterflies materialized and swirled around him before darting toward the two Blood Wolves.

The two mist-shrouded Blood Wolves lunged to attack at almost the exact same moment Li Heng made his move.

Two Blood Wolves blessed by the Blood Wolf God, with stats comparable to Tier Two Low-Grade Soul Beasts, were attacking him simultaneously. Li Heng could feel the pressure.

But inside a Dungeon, Li Heng was fearless. All he had to do was charge in head-on!

Of course, charging in recklessly without any awareness of the situation would just be a waste of one thousand soul qi points. Li Heng chose to charge straight in because he had a reason to be confident.

After all, he had equipped the Moon Heavy Armor Arm Guard, pushing his strength stat past 40. His sword was now incredibly fast and its strikes were extremely heavy!

’Fighting two "Tier Two Low-Grade Soul Beasts" by myself, especially inside a Dungeon, shouldn’t be a big problem.’

As it turned out, the battle against the two Blood Wolves ended just as he had expected. Within a few exchanges, both Blood Wolves fell, contributing their soul qi points. Unfortunately, Li Heng’s luck was out, and they didn’t drop anything.

Although the outcome didn’t surprise him, the process gave Li Heng pause. During the fight, his sword strikes had faltered several times.

The reason his strikes had faltered was a sense of oppression welling up from deep within him. This pressure not only made it difficult for him to concentrate, but it even sparked an impulse to run away.

’The oppression of the Blood Wolf God...? Does that mean the Blood Wolf God itself might be on this mountain?’

Li Heng could only connect this feeling—this urge to flee in terror, even inside a Dungeon—with the Blood Wolf God.

This incident also made Li Heng realize that his Spirit stat was still too low. Perhaps it was time to consider advancing his Soul Master cultivation level.

After all, his strength and agility stats had already reached 20, but his Spirit stat was still lagging behind.

Li Heng believed that this new Divine-level Dungeon was the perfect environment for him to train his Spirit stat.

But dying just once in this Dungeon meant a thousand soul qi points would vanish instantly. The "entry fee" was a bit steep.

Moreover, the stats of the Blood Wolves in here were practically doubled, and they were wreathed in the oppressive aura of the Blood Wolf God. In theory, this made them much harder to kill than ordinary Blood Wolves, but the soul qi they gave was unchanged—still a pitiful 15 points.

He only had two Talisman uses left. If he died to a regular mob before even reaching the final Dungeon boss, it would be a massive loss.

So, after a moment of thought, Li Heng decided to use the Blood Wolf God’s oppressive aura to train his Spirit stat, while doing his utmost to stay alive.

With his course of action set, Li Heng continued his exploration of the Divine-level Wolf King Mountain.

His plan was sound, but reality was a cold, cruel mistress. The two Blood Wolves he had encountered earlier seemed to have been a mere fluke.

The second wave of enemies Li Heng encountered was a pack of five blessed Blood Wolves. They completely ignored his deterrence and lunged at him on sight.

Accompanied by streaks of crimson Wolf Fangs!

Five Tier One Soul Beasts would have been no problem. But five Tier Two Soul Beasts, each radiating an oppressive aura that weighed heavily on Li Heng, was a huge problem.

Everything happened so fast that he was under attack almost the instant he spotted the five Blood Wolves.

Despite the suddenness of the attack, Li Heng had remained vigilant. But now, he had no choice but to grit his teeth and face them head-on.

Li Heng weaved through the chaos, the cold light of his Longsword flashing. He was surrounded by one mist-shrouded Blood Wolf after another, and by crimson Wolf Fangs that materialized out of thin air!

It had been a long time since Li Heng had experienced such a strenuous battle—not since he had upgraded all of his gear to its maximum level.

Even his previous fight against the Ice Luan in the Desolate Moon Islands had just been a tough, stamina-draining encounter. It hadn’t felt this strenuous.

But now, he had to defend, execute his sword techniques, and constantly watch out for the crimson Wolf Fangs that would suddenly materialize from unknown locations!

His battle against the five blessed Blood Wolves had already dragged on for over ten minutes!

The battle finally ended when a wounded Li Heng plunged his Empty Cicada Longsword into the last Blood Wolf’s abdomen.

His school uniform was torn to ribbons. Deep claw marks scored his thigh and left arm, but the most severe injury was on his back.

The wound was not only deep, but also showed signs of being burned.

Barring death, this was the most severe injury Li Heng had ever sustained in a Dungeon.

As soon as the battle was over, Li Heng confirmed there were no other Blood Wolves nearby and immediately withdrew from the Divine-level Wolf King Mountain.

After all, Li Heng felt that in his current condition, he was unfit to continue fighting. ’If I stay on my feet much longer,’ he thought, ’I’ll probably go into shock from blood loss and die.’

Therefore, while he was in a "safe state" and didn’t need to use one of his Talisman charges, Li Heng chose to exit the Divine-level Dungeon.

[DING! Divine-Level Wolf King Mountain Dungeon Results!]

[Clearance Conditions Not Met!]

[Exited Dungeon in a Safe State. No Loss of Loot or Rewards.]

"Phew..."

After exiting the Divine-level Wolf King Mountain Dungeon and returning to his room, Li Heng let out a long sigh of relief and tried to compose himself.

His first foray into the Divine-level Dungeon could only be described as a failure. After all, once he’d dealt with those five blessed Blood Wolves, the only thing that dropped was a single piece of Blood Wolf meat. Nothing else.

No Divinity Points dropped.

And Divinity Points were the one thing Li Heng was most curious about right now.

Furthermore, unlike normal Dungeons, this Divine-level Dungeon didn’t state its clearance conditions. Li Heng had no idea what he needed to do to complete it.

But after those two Dungeon runs, Li Heng felt exhausted. He wasn’t sure if it was just psychological, but he suddenly felt a strange chill on the top of his head.

Considering factors like his receding hairline, combined with all the new information he’d received tonight, he really needed some time to process everything.

’Everything else can wait until tomorrow,’ Li Heng thought. ’Right now, I just need a good rest.’

Besides, Li Heng was actually looking forward to the next day. After all, tomorrow would mark the end of this year’s Secret Realm Entrance Exam.
