A Divine-level Dungeon!
About a month had passed from the first time he saw the information about this Dungeon to the moment he could finally enter it.
Seeing that he could now truly enter a Divine-level Dungeon, Li Heng felt a surge of emotion. However, he didn’t immediately rush in.
Besides "Divine-level Dungeon," another term had captured Li Heng’s attention: Legendary Points!
Nearly all of his items, equipment, and skills were stuck at the "Rare" tier. He had been struggling with how to get Legendary Points for a while, so seeing them appear now undoubtedly filled him with joy.
At the very least, Li Heng now knew one way to obtain Legendary Points!
Name: Wolf Soul Mark (Passive)
Category: Soul Energy Skill
Value: Rare
Effects:
1. Affinity and Intimidation toward wolf-type creatures +5.
2. Success rate of contracting a Wolf-type Soul Beast +25%.
[Would you like to consume 10,000 Soul Energy and 1 Legendary Point to upgrade this skill?]
The Wolf Soul Mark was another reward for clearing the Wolf King Mountain Dungeon, just like how he had obtained the Wolf Walk Technique from killing the heavily injured Blood Wolf King earlier.
But since "Divine-level Dungeon" and "Legendary Points" were so eye-catching, Li Heng hadn’t taken the time to examine it at first.
As for the Wolf Soul Mark passive skill, Li Heng felt it was a decent reward. He didn’t think he had a use for it at the moment, but it was better to have it than not.
’I thought it might drop a Blood Wolf King or a Blood Wolf King cub... something like that as a pet. I guess when it comes to Dungeons, I just have terrible luck with Soul Energy pets!’
The Wolf Soul Mark was similar to other items he’d acquired, like the Wolf Soul Blood Crystal and the Wolf Bone Brush. Even if he couldn’t use it now, he’d collect it anyway. Who knew when it might come in handy.
Even though he had the Ice Luan, Li Heng still kind of wanted a Blood Wolf King. After all, despite the Blood Wolf King’s questionable character, it looked pretty cool, and its strength was passable.
Having a mount like that would be pretty awesome!
Of course, riding the Ice Luan would theoretically be even cooler—it was much more majestic—but after a test flight inside a Dungeon, Li Heng had already made up his mind.
Until he could fly on his own, he would absolutely not ride the Ice Luan in a Secret Realm or in the real world.
’I don’t want to fly into the sky one day only to fall and have my fate be unknown. Sure, it’d look cool, but the cool guy would be gone for good!’
After exiting the Wolf King Mountain Dungeon, Li Heng began sorting through his rewards.
Aside from the rewards displayed by the system, Li Heng was also somewhat curious about that "silent" state he had entered again.
The first time it had happened was right after he stepped into the Secret Realm of the Desolate Moon Islands, during a torrential downpour. The second time was just a moment ago, when his gaze swept over the grievously wounded Wolf King.
’I’m really curious about what it is... but I won’t figure it out just by thinking about it. I’ll just have to let things run their course!’
After organizing his thoughts, Li Heng began to consider his next move.
He now had 1 Legendary Point. However, he had only earned about 2,000 Soul Energy from this Dungeon run, and he needed 10,000 to upgrade an item or skill. If he wanted to upgrade anything, he would have to clear the Dungeon a few more times.
Considering he still had plenty of time, there was no need to grind Dungeons day and night like he did when preparing for the Secret Realm entrance exams. Besides, he already had the Legendary Point, and it wasn’t going to run away on its own.
So, after a moment of thought, Li Heng decided to go take a look inside the "Divine-level Dungeon"!
In the end, his curiosity won out. Unable to resist the allure of a Divine-level Dungeon, Li Heng chose to enter [Divine-level Wolf King Mountain].
"The smell of blood!"
The moment he entered the Divine-level Wolf King Mountain, before he even had a chance to observe his surroundings, Li Heng was struck by the pervasive smell of blood.
The smell was familiar, like the unique scent a Blood Wolf gave off right before activating a Soul Energy Skill.
But now, there wasn’t a single Blood Wolf in sight, yet the smell of blood hung thick in the air, refusing to dissipate.
Judging by the terrain and environment alone, it was no different from the regular Wolf King Mountain. However, the mountain before him was now shrouded in wisps of blood-red mist, making it look all the more mysterious.
Before this, Li Heng had made many guesses about what a Divine-level Dungeon would be like.
His most common theory was that a Divine-level Dungeon was just like something out of the games from his world: a "Hard" mode that unlocks after you beat the "Normal" difficulty.
’And "Divine-level"... was just another name for it?’
But as he looked at the misty, blood-red Wolf King Mountain in the distance and felt a sudden, inexplicable pressure welling up inside him, Li Heng thought, ’This difficulty... I’m afraid it’s more than just a small step up.’
[Would you like to exit this Divine-level Dungeon?]
...
According to the system prompt, Li Heng found that, just like a normal Dungeon, he could choose to exit the Divine-level one at any time.
The rules for exiting under the three different states—death, combat, and safety—were mostly the same as in a normal Dungeon. Exiting upon death was the most severe, resulting in a 90% loss of all loot and rewards.
He also still had two Talisman uses remaining.
The reason he said they were *mostly* the same was because the system displayed one additional line of information for the Divine-level Dungeon.
[Exiting the Dungeon in a death or combat state will result in a 100% loss of any "Divinity" acquired. Exiting via a Talisman will preserve any acquired "Divinity."]
Divinity!
That single word sent a jolt through Li Heng’s entire body. He was even more stunned than when he had seen the words "Legendary Points."
He didn’t know what "Divinity" meant, exactly, but it was clearly related to the "Divine." And since the Divine-level Dungeon was so difficult to unlock in the first place, Li Heng felt this "Divinity" must be something extraordinary.
He recalled how the Ice Luan’s appearance had previously caused every wolf in the entire Dungeon to swarm them.
Li Heng decided to scout ahead alone first. He would decide whether or not to summon the Ice Luan later, depending on the situation.
It had to be said, just looking at Wolf King Mountain wreathed in blood mist had made Li Heng feel a sense of pressure.
Now, as he slowly walked toward Wolf King Mountain, that pressure grew even stronger. Li Heng couldn’t help but tighten his grip on his Empty Cicada Longsword, raising his guard completely.
He had no idea what kind of creatures might leap out from this mist-shrouded Wolf King Mountain.
Before Li Heng could take more than a few steps, two Blood Wolves suddenly appeared in his line of sight. Their bodies were shrouded in mist, and upon seeing him, they showed not a single trace of fear.
