My Ex-Husband Always Knew That I Had Cheated on Him
Chapter 440 - 415: Life Is Truly Full of Surprises and Shocks (Part 2)
She only then realized she was in a hospital.
So, she wasn’t dead?
Instantly, she was ecstatic.
She wasn’t dead, she really wasn’t dead.
But there was also a little bit of disappointment.
If she wasn’t dead, she wouldn’t see Mom.
But not dying means she can avenge Mom, right?
"Chloe Simpson, you finally woke up, are you alright?"
While she was lost in thought, Alan Johnson’s voice rang in her ears again, and with it appeared Alan Johnson’s handsome face.
It was really Alan Johnson.
So, was it Alan Johnson who saved her?
Why did Alan Johnson want to save her?
Clearly, last night, he was so annoyed with her.
"What’s wrong? Chloe Simpson, why aren’t you speaking? Can you see me? Chloe? Doctor! Doctor!"
Alan Johnson suffered through three whole days and nights for Chloe Simpson, and as soon as Chloe woke up, he didn’t expect this.
After Chloe woke up, she seemed to have problems, so he quickly went to call a doctor.
Chloe opened her mouth, just about to speak, to stop Alan Johnson.
But because she had been in a coma for too long, her throat was dry and hoarse, she couldn’t make a sound.
Also, due to being shot in the chest, even the slightest movement of her fingers seemed to tug at her nerves, causing unbearable pain.
minutes later, the attending doctor rushed over.
Performed a comprehensive examination on her.
"There’s nothing abnormal, she’s awake, and all her body indicators are quite normal, what’s wrong? Is there any discomfort? Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?"
The attending doctor looked at Chloe, full of doubt.
Chloe just wanted to shake her head but hadn’t moved yet, and it pulled at her wound.
It was truly painful.
Pain so intense her forehead was sweating profusely.
Before she had a chance to speak, Alan Johnson took the lead: "She’s awake, but can’t utter a single word. Doctor, could it be a problem with her, or has she become a vegetable? Or maybe her brain is damaged."
Chloe was shocked.
This esteemed second master of the Johnson Family, does he really lack medical knowledge?
She was wounded in the chest, not the brain, how could her brain be damaged?
"...Pain!"
Chloe exerted herself, enduring the pain, finally shouting out a single word.
"Oh, so it’s pain, well don’t worry too much, the patient just woke up. Her body must be very weak, and speaking in fragments is also normal."
"Pain in the wound is also normal, she was shot after all. If the pain is unbearable, take some painkillers, and if that doesn’t work, some fluid. As long as there’s no other discomfort with the body."
After the doctor finished speaking, Alan Johnson once again confirmed there were no issues before allowing the doctor to leave.
Chloe looked at Alan Johnson, utterly confused.
Even if she was in a coma, it was only for two or three days, it hadn’t been that long.
How did Alan Johnson seem like a different person upon waking?
Alan Johnson saw her puzzled look, and spoke: "I know what you want to say, you’re looking at me like I’m different from before, right?"
Chloe’s throat was dry, the wound hurt, she didn’t want to speak, just slightly nodded.
Alan Johnson glanced at her, poured a glass of water, moistened her lips, then spoke: "To be honest, I never expected things to turn out like this."
"That night, after you went to my room, I had someone investigate you. But the result of that investigation was beyond what I imagined..."
Alan Johnson got up, walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, back to her, and told her everything.
Chloe never imagined things would be like this.
Even more unexpected, was what Alan Johnson would say next.
"Chloe Simpson, you don’t need to deceive me or use any strategies here. During your three-day coma, I’ve thoroughly investigated every detail about you."
"There’s nothing you can hide from me, although I don’t know why you went to my room that night, or why you did that, but I know you must have your difficulties."
"If you’re willing to tell me, I will definitely share the burden with you. If you don’t want to say, I will respect your decision. But from today, I will take care of you."
"At least while you’re hospitalized, I will stay at the hospital to look after you. After you’re discharged, if you don’t want any ties with me, you can go home, but you can always come to me if you need help."
"If you still want to be my woman like that night. That’s also fine, I could marry you. But first, I must clearly tell you, I don’t love you. If you want a mutually affectionate marriage, I can’t do that."
After Alan Johnson finished speaking, Chloe lay there stunned for a long time, before she opened her mouth and difficultly said four words.
"I... know... already..."
However, she still did not want to believe such a thing.
She even felt like she was dreaming.
Ha, fate really likes to joke around with her.
Is this something predestined from the start?
For this lifetime, she was really going to be tied endlessly to the Johnson Family.
She didn’t expect, Alan Johnson turned out to be Soren Johnson’s illegitimate son.
Nor did she expect, Alan Johnson’s mother had such a good relationship with her own mother.
Her mother also had a life-saving grace towards Alan Johnson’s mother.
The two of them had once promised, if they both had daughters, they’d be sisters, sons would be brothers, and if one had a son and the other a daughter, they’d arrange a child marriage.
So, should she be happy, or should she be despondent?
Happy to have another connection with the Johnson Family.
Despondent that her ties with the Johnson Family were increasingly like an entangled mess.
Truth be told, the hand of fate is indeed strange and magical.
Life really is full of surprises and shocks.
Outside the door, Alexander Johnson stood there, listening to everything Alan Johnson said.
He glanced at the porridge he had queued for hours to get, and suddenly he laughed.
