My Ecchi Superpower System
Chapter 86| Two Free Spins
Chapter 86: Chapter 86| Two Free Spins
Maren was still asleep.
Zane looked at the two free spin notifications sitting in the corner of his vision.
’Might as well do it now,’ he thought.
He activated the first spin.
The animation played — not a subtle notification, an actual visual sequence running across his field of vision. A spinning wheel. Reward slots cycling. The specific energy of something that had been built with presentation in mind.
It slowed.
Stopped.
『 SPIN 1 RESULT: +1 CARRY SLOT 』
『 Carry limit updated: 2 → 3 slots permanently 』
『 New slot available for acquisition immediately 』
’Three slots,’ Zane thought. ’One more acquisition slot.’
He looked at the two Sigils currently occupying his slots.
Impact Breaker. Overdrive. Both permanently locked. Both sitting there without the degradation timer that had been running since week one.
Got it. Here’s the updated section:
’Third slot,’ he thought. ’B-rank acquisition is now possible. No rush though, might as well take my time and pick something compatible. Not just whatever walks into aura range first.’
The system surfaced.
『 Wise. The system recommends patience over impulse for B-rank acquisition. Output at B-rank tier is significantly more demanding on the host than C-rank. Compatibility matters. 』
’For once we agree on something,’ Zane thought.
『 The system agrees with you more often than you acknowledge. 』
’Debatable,’ Zane thought.
He activated the second spin.
The animation ran again. Wheel spinning. Slots cycling faster than the first one. Building momentum before slowing.
It stopped.
『 SPIN 2 RESULT: IMPACT BREAKER OUTPUT +15% 』
『 Impact Breaker ceiling updated: 75% → 90% 』
『 System Note: Both Sigils now sitting at 90% output ceiling. The system finds this satisfying. 』
Zane stared at it.
’90%,’ he thought. ’Impact Breaker at 90%. Same ceiling as Overdrive.’
’Both at 90%,’ he thought. ’Both permanently locked. Three slots.’
He looked at the ceiling of room four.
’What a Sunday,’ he thought.
The system surfaced.
『 Current status update: 』
『 MAREN CASS — Familiarity: 84% — Genuinely Close tier 』
『 OVERDRIVE — Output ceiling: 90% — Window: 8 seconds (upgraded from 6) 』
『 IMPACT BREAKER — Output ceiling: 90% — Activation speed: 0.79 seconds 』
『 CARRY LIMIT: 3 slots — 1 slot available 』
『 BOND DEPTH — MAREN: 34% 』
Zane read through it.
Got it. Here’s the updated section:
’Familiarity jumped to 84%,’ he thought. ’From 70% this morning to 84% in one afternoon. Of course, good sex will do that.’ He looked at the Overdrive notification. ’Window went from 6 seconds to 8. Genuinely close tier delivering exactly what it promised.’
The system surfaced.
『 The system cannot relate to the sex message. The system is programmed to not interfere when the host is executing sexual need. The system simply processes the data output afterward. 』
’So you just sat there quietly the whole time,’ Zane thought.
『 The system was present but non-participatory. As designed. 』
’Good,’ Zane thought. ’Keep it that way.’
『 Always. The system has standards. 』
He looked at her still asleep on his chest.
’Little does she know,’ he thought. ’We share the same Sigil.’
The system surfaced.
『 The system notes that is technically accurate. The system strongly recommends not saying this out loud to her. Ever. Under any circumstances. 』
’Obviously,’ Zane thought.
Maren woke up at 8:10 PM.
Not gradually. Just eyes open. Present. The specific wakefulness of someone whose baseline was always alert even coming out of sleep.
She looked up.
Found his face.
Looked at him for exactly two seconds.
Then looked at the ceiling.
Then back at him.
Her face went slightly pink but held. The specific controlled version of the red face that appeared when she’d decided she wasn’t going to let it fully happen.
"What time is it," she said.
"8:10," Zane said as he checked his communicator.
She processed that.
ot it. Here’s the updated section:
"What time is it," she said.
"8:10," Zane said.
She processed that.
"We need to be back by 9," she said.
"I know," he said. "Just couldn’t disturb your peaceful sleep."
Maren’s mouth widened into a smile before she could stop it. Then she pushed his shoulder.
"Dumbass," she said.
He looked at her.
She was still smiling. The specific smile that didn’t announce itself and didn’t need to.
He looked at the ceiling.
’Worth it,’ he thought.
Neither of them moved immediately.
Then she sat up. Pushed her hair back. Looked around the compact room with the assessment expression that apparently operated in every context including waking up somewhere unexpected on a Sunday evening.
He sat up beside her.
They looked at each other.
"Today was..." she started.
"Yeah," he said.
She looked at him.
"I wasn’t finished," she said.
"I know," he said. "But yeah covers it."
She stared at him for one second.
Then the corner of her mouth pulled into the thing it did when she’d decided to let something in.
They cleaned up. The compact room returning to its functional state. The Sunday evening light through the half drawn blind doing its thing.
Then they both left the room.
The sign-in desk officer looked up when they appeared.
Zane set the key on the desk.
The officer looked at the key. Then at the clock on the wall. Then at both of them with the specific unbothered expression of someone who had been running this desk long enough to stop being surprised by anything.
"Unusually long meeting," he said. Not accusatory. Just noting it.
"Really important stuff," Zane replied.
Maren looked at the wall beside the desk.
"Very important," she added. Keeping her eyes on the wall.
The officer took the key. Filed the sign-out form. Went back to whatever he’d been doing before they arrived.
They walked out of the guest block corridor and into the east wing hallway.
The campus at 8:20 PM on a Sunday was running its quietest frequency of the week. The academic block dark. The practical complex closed. A few students moving between buildings but nothing like the daytime density.
They walked side by side through the east courtyard.
"Today was fun," Maren said.
"Yeah," Zane replied. "It was."
She glanced at him.
"Yesterday was fun too," she said. "And today too for the most part."
He looked forward.
"Both days," Zane replied.
She looked forward too.
"Both days," she agreed.
The path split at the junction — boys dormitory one direction, girls dormitory the other. They both slowed naturally without discussing it. The specific rhythm that had developed over six weeks of the same parting in the same place.
Except tonight it felt different.
She stopped. Looked at him.
She stopped. Looked at him.
"Hope you come early to training tomorrow," she said.
"I’ll try my best," Zane said.
She looked at him for one more second.
Then raised her hand.
He raised his.
Then they both waved. The same simultaneous wave from the training grounds and the corridors and the academic block junction. Except tonight it carried something it hadn’t carried the previous forty two times.
She turned toward the girls dormitory path.
He watched her go.
The fitted crop top. The short skirt. The hair loose from whatever it had been doing in room four for the past three hours.
’Bond target confirmed,’ he thought.
The system surfaced. ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
『 Bond depth: 34%. Gacha meter: 12%. Carry limit: 3 slots. Impact Breaker and Overdrive both at 90% ceiling. B-rank acquisition active. 』
『 System Note: Mission complete. You did well. The system is genuinely proud. 』
’Don’t get sentimental,’ Zane thought.
『 The system is simply acknowledging a milestone. 』
’Acknowledged,’ Zane thought.
『 The system hereby redraw its chicken statement』
’Finally, something I agree with. Appreciated system’, he replied mentally.
He turned toward the boys dormitory path and walked.
_ _
Zane was back at Room 714 as late as 9:15pm.
Dex was at his desk watching something on his Laptop.
Gerald wheezed.
Dex looked up when Zane came through the door.
Looked at Zane’s face.
Said nothing.
Then went back to his laptop.
’Strange for Dex to not say anything.’ He looked at the back of Dex’s head. ’Well... works better for me.’
He dropped his jacket on the chair and lay back on his bed.
