Chapter 601: Chapter 45: Dao Fruit Embryo, Personally Entering the Human World

It brought together the essence of my three masters’ teachings and my own countless years of insights...

Coupled with the Path of Great Balance, which inherently holds the mysteries of all things, every Great Dao under the heavens has a trace of its essence within this book!

This Celestial Book could almost be called the greatest of all, second only to the two or three Dharmas that can cultivate Great Magical Power and grant a Dao Fruit!

It can bring about Creation, be used for slaughter and self-defense, refine the physical body, cultivate merit, grant enlightenment to great principles, and allow one to commune with heaven and earth...

One Celestial Book divided into three volumes, each volume with three thousand characters, for a total of a mere nine thousand characters that expound upon the Great Dao and its profound principles!

Nine thousand Great Dao Texts.

Have you not seen? The Mediation of Creation has but one thousand eight hundred Great Dao Texts. The Annihilation and Slaughter, combining all four, has only three thousand two hundred!

After an unknown amount of time, the voice of the sermon gradually faded.

All three thousand people rose, each one bowing in reverence. From the Ancient Human Emperors to the Daoist Celestial Venerables, from kings and generals to Celestial Masters and Human Immortals, all were respectful.

Lu Xuan nodded slightly and spoke calmly:

"The Celestial Book has been fully described. I hope you will all spread this path far and wide, with the sole wish that every person may be like a dragon."

The three thousand bowed again.

The great doors of the Purple Cloud Palace slowly opened. The Chaos Ladder stretched across countless years, sending all three thousand back to their own original places in history.

The River of Time underwent a sudden, drastic change. In the ancient years, the Earth Emperor and Human Emperor retold the Celestial Book, spreading its three volumes far and wide.

In the last years of the Shang Dynasty, the final battle between Emperor Xin and Ji Fa was not fought with blades, spears, or Immortal Skills, but with the Dao of the Celestial Book—a contest of who had the deeper understanding.

During the years of the Great Zhou, the Celestial Son of Zhou established the [Guardian Storage Room], collecting one hundred and eight thousand treasured books from across the land.

And these one hundred and eight thousand volumes were all interpretations, derivations, and insights regarding the [Celestial Book]...

Segment after segment of history underwent earth-shattering changes. From the very source in ancient times, the Human Race experienced a great transformation.

From the Barbaric Wilderness era onward, the Human Race showed signs of ’every person being like a dragon’. Demons dared not transgress. By the time of the Three Emperors and Five Emperors, the Human Court already possessed the power to overwhelm the heavens...

Every person who succeeded in cultivating the Celestial Book fed a portion of their power back to Lu Xuan.

From ancient times to the present, which member of the Human Race did not cultivate the Celestial Book?

From ancient times to the present, through all the dynasties, how many people has the Human Race had?

Countless. Innumerable.

Lu Xuan’s aura became increasingly harmonious and complete. Before him, the embryo of half an Illusory Dao Fruit actually condensed once more!

If he added this to the previous half, he would have an entire Illusory Dao Fruit Embryo. Even if he had to spend a million years of brute-force effort polishing it, perfecting some Daos and Dharmas, and correcting some history... once the embryonic form was shed, it would become a whole, Complete Dao Fruit!

Enlightenment seemed to be right before his eyes.

Lu Xuan sighed softly. ’It’s illusory, in the end.’

Not to mention it was just a Dao Fruit Embryo. Even if it had shed its embryonic form and could be directly absorbed, he might not necessarily want it.

’It’s illusory, in the end.’

However...

A faint smile appeared on Lu Xuan’s face as he glanced sideways, gazing into the Great Chaos. The four Enlightened Ones and the two with special Transcendent Traits were still locked in battle.

The Great Chaos was being torn asunder. The Celestial Myriad Realms had already been destroyed and restored an unknown number of times...

Cradling the embryo of the half Illusory Dao Fruit, Lu Xuan looked to the side and instructed:

"Watch the house, cultivate diligently, and do not slack off. Otherwise, I will surely punish you."

Xiaohuo’Er nodded like a pecking chicken. After watching its master leave the Daoist Palace and step into the stream of Years, it finally broke into a wide grin.

’Time to sneak off, time to sneak off...’

The Little Daoist Child also snuck out of the Purple Cloud Palace, looked left and right, and finally headed toward the Current World.

’I’ve pretty much mastered the Three Celestial Books already. What’s the point of more cultivation...’ 𝘧𝓇ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝘣𝓃ℴ

It hummed a little tune as it walked into a certain period of time within the Current World. It wandered through mountains and frolicked by waters, occasionally bestowing a few fortunate opportunities here and there.

An unknown number of years passed in this period of time. Xiaohuo’Er stared at the living being before it and tilted its head, asking.

"Who are you?"

"I am you," Fu Xi said with a smile. "And you are me."

He began to change subtly, supplanting and replacing the identity of the Purple Cloud Palace’s Daoist Child, erasing the Existence of one who had not yet attained the Daluo realm...

At this moment, Xiaohuo’Er was not even a Daluo.

The Daoist Child’s spirit gradually faded, dimmed, and extinguished...

But in an Instant, it solidified again.

"Get lost." Xiaohuo’Er’s face was no longer innocent and carefree. In its place was an imposing majesty as it snapped.

Fu Xi, who had been smiling just moments before, looked as if he had been struck by lightning. He coughed up blood and fled, crying out in terror.

"You are... a Dao Fruit!"

He vanished without a trace.

The majesty on Xiaohuo’Er’s face dissipated, replaced by a look of confusion.

’What just happened?’

It scratched its head, thoroughly bewildered, then promptly threw the matter to the back of its mind.

’Whatever...’

’Time to go back, time to go back... I should pick some hawthorns for Master. If Master dares to scold me, I’ll stuff his mouth with hawthorns!’

Xiaohuo’Er became cheerful again.

.........

「Late Han Dynasty.」

[Profound Origin Fusheng], who originally could not set foot in the River of Time, calmly walked into it under the protection of the half Illusory Dao Fruit Embryo, completely unaffected.

The ray of Amitabha Buddha’s light that permeated the past and future was dispersed by the Dao Fruit Embryo the moment it drew near Lu Xuan.

He glanced at the bloody Daluo battle still raging over the Yellow River Basin, then silently entered the Celestial Court, his face obscured by a veil of Chaos that made his features impossible to discern.

At this moment, with the war of Dao Fruits raging, all heavenly fate was in chaos.

Passing through the buildings of the Immortal Palace, he walked into the Lingxiao Palace.

Lu Xuan stood silently within the void of Lingxiao Hall, unnoticed by any Immortal.

He gazed at the Nine Venerable Ones and at the subservient, terrified Jade Emperor. He sighed softly, having finally made a decision.

’For you, this might be a release.’

Murmuring to himself, Lu Xuan stepped into the past. He traveled all the way back, finally descending in his current form into the years of the Early Han.

He walked and paused, eventually finding a certain person.

"What is your name?"

The middle-aged man, who was in the middle of performing a good deed, smiled sheepishly and turned his head. Upon seeing the chaos-shrouded figure, he shivered and hastily bowed.

"Rep... Reporting to the Upper Immortal, my name is Zhang Bairen!"

This was before Lishan Old Mother had found Zhang Bairen to make him the Jade Emperor.

Lu Xuan nodded lightly.

"Change your name, and I shall grant you a fortunate encounter. How about it?"

Zhang Bairen was taken aback.

"Upper Immortal, why is that?"

"I wish to borrow your name."

"Oh, if the Upper Immortal wishes to use it, then please, take it!"

Zhang Bairen was exceptionally straightforward, shrinking his neck.

"Then from now on, I won’t be Zhang Bairen anymore. The Upper Immortal is Zhang Bairen... Oh, right, Upper Immortal, do you need my courtesy name too?"

Lu Xuan frowned slightly. ’A courtesy name?’

There was no record of this in history.

He narrowed his eyes and asked:

"Oh? And what might your courtesy name be?"

Zhang Bairen replied with simple honesty:

"Replying to the Upper Immortal, I, Zhang Bairen, have the courtesy name..."

He paused, then broke into a wide grin.

"Fu Xi."

Beneath the mist of Chaos, Lu Xuan’s expression changed abruptly. A chill went through his heart.

’When?’

His mind snapped to clarity. Looking back through the Years, he saw that from the very beginning, Zhang Bairen had always used [Fu Xi] as his courtesy name!

Lu Xuan’s expression darkened as he asked coldly:

"Fu Xi? You truly have too much free time, fighting with Shangqing on one hand while placing your pieces all over the board on the other?"

Zhang Fuxi scratched his head and laughed heartily.

"Purple Cloud Palace Master, you misunderstand. This body has always been one of my incarnations. I’ve always had many incarnations, you know..."

He paused, the simple and honest look vanishing from his face, and asked with great interest:

"The Purple Cloud Palace Master wants to be the Lord of the Celestial Court? There’s no reason why you can’t. Whatever you want, I will give."

Lu Xuan knew he had been seen through. He immediately dispersed the Chaos Qi from his face and asked coolly:

"Fu Xi, you truly have many identities. Are they all really you?"

"Senior, what do you mean by that?" A look of confusion appeared on Fu Xi’s face, but he quickly smiled. "Of course they are all me. If you don’t believe me, Senior, you can peer into history. All those ’me’s have been me from the very beginning..."

He paused and bowed slightly.

"Senior, you need not be so vigilant. I am not your enemy. In fact, if I had any ill intentions, I would not have revealed my identity."

Lu Xuan’s heart trembled slightly. It was just as Fu Xi had said. If he hadn’t revealed himself, Lu Xuan would have had no way of realizing the person before him was Fu Xi!

This kind of Transcendent Trait was simply too terrifying!

As a thousand thoughts raced through his mind, Lu Xuan remained impassive, maintaining his dignified air as he asked:

"So, what is it that you truly want?"

"Senior, why must you be like this?" Fu Xi sighed softly, seemingly in thought, seemingly weighing his options.

He finally made up his mind and said in a low voice:

"Senior, this is actually not the first time you and I have met."

"Is that so?" Lu Xuan said slowly. "When was the last time?"

"In the Purple Cloud Palace."

Fu Xi smiled.

"A cup of tea, a ball of origin..."

Lu Xuan’s head snapped up, his eyes flashing.

"To steal the origin of Shangqing and my master, Yuqing... you truly have some nerve."

Fu Xi quickly waved his hands.

"How can you call it ’stealing’ when it’s just a matter between Cultivators? Besides..."

His expression gradually grew solemn.

"It’s as I said before. I only wish to cooperate with you, Senior. That Taiyi is a huge problem. A huge problem..."
