My Disciples Grind, I Get 100x Their Progress
Chapter 141: The Ice Empress
Who is the head of the Mivelo Great Family, located in the Elite region?
If people were asked that, the answers would vary widely, but in the end they would all arrive at the same conclusion.
It was a woman who had gone through so much injustice in her life. A woman who showed what it meant to have strong determination and refuse to give up.
A life that lasted three years, full of suffering and sweat and blood.
In the span of three years.
At the beginning, it started with the loss of a very precious figure, the one who had been that woman’s pillar of support.
Then, in the times that followed, those who should have been her own family hunted her instead and did their best to kill her.
At the end of that same year, the woman was slandered, became a public enemy and could not live in the Safe Zone for a long time, forcing her to survive in the invaded territory.
However, because of her extraordinary determination, because she was so talented and full of ambition to prove herself, that she was not only very useful, but also not a problem.
The woman was able to endure.
The following year, the woman returned with evidence proving she was innocent, regaining her position in the Safe Zone.
It didn’t end there.
Because the woman continued on her path, in a miraculous way conquering her own family, imprisoning her own flesh and blood and even killing some who had wronged her so greatly.
In the end, after all of that, the woman took the top position, took over the Great Family, and sat on a luxurious throne.
People admired her after once having been hostile to her, and in the end she earned a title before her name.
The Ice Empress - Kina Mivelo.
"Mom! Mom! What does the Ice Empress look like? I heard she’s really beautiful?"
"Of course! Miss Kina is so beautiful she would make anyone fall in love, even a woman!"
"Really!? Can I be her prince?"
"Haha, sure, if my child can become worthy of her, then of course."
***
The lake was frozen, the trees covered in snow. Crystallized ice flowers grew everywhere, pulsing faintly with a large amount of Mana.
Blue butterflies could be seen everywhere, fluttering around a woman who had reached full, mature adulthood, her stunning appearance standing out.
The woman opened her eyes slightly, revealing blue irises as bright as the daytime sky.
A breeze gently brushed against her long black hair, which reached her waist, revealing the strands of blue on the inner part of her hair.
Standing there, the woman raised her hand slightly. The sword in her grasp was frozen in ice, while a rather large blue butterfly hairpin adorned her hair, blending with crystal fragments of frozen snow falling around her.
Her hair seemed to hold stars within it. Along with a white gown with bare shoulders, the gown gently hugged her body and flared slightly at the bottom.
Under the rather blazing sunlight, Kina let out a faint, cold breath. She felt no heat or anything of the kind, only a freezing cold that fit her perfectly, something that had become one of the few things Kina liked.
"Miss."
Kina turned slightly when she heard the sound of footsteps approaching carefully, avoiding the scattered crystal flowers.
It turned out to be Lurker, who looked like he had grown older, yet was still full of vigor and firmness.
"...Lord Lurker, you’ve come without warning again."
"I’m sorry if I startled you, but... I came because I wanted to discuss something."
"Oh, what is it?" Kina laughed sweetly, listening to Lurker closely.
Lurker looked somewhat troubled as he smiled awkwardly, scratching his cheek, which wasn’t itchy.
"...Is it necessary?"
"What?"
"That statue."
Kina blinked, faced with a question whose answer was certain, tilting her head and continuing to smile.
"Yes! Without a doubt. I will pay a high price for the craftsmen who will carve statues for me."
"Miss... That’s not the problem, it’s about the people."
"What’s wrong with them?"
Seeing Kina’s indifference made things harder for Lurker. The man knew that a genius always had thoughts that were hard to guess, but he didn’t mind as long as those thoughts didn’t bring about many bad responses.
Especially since this came through protests from the people in Central.
"As a reminder, Miss Kina has registered about 4,771 locations for building statues of Lord Julian. And with that number, people apparently only need to drive for a few dozen minutes to see one, and then see another."
It was clearly a bad thing. Not only did it take up a lot of empty land, it was also met with disgust by the people, who didn’t like having the statues everywhere.
Lurker hoped Kina would understand, but...
"Oh? Really? That’s good. But... a few dozen minutes? Hmm... I suppose I should build even more so people can see one after driving just a few minutes. That way, even those on foot can still see one without needing to walk for hours."
There was one thing to know about Kina and her leadership.
It could not be denied that Kina carried out her role very effectively, she had succeeded in preventing many things related to Invaders by making use of the power the Mivelo family held.
But on the other hand, there was the biggest problem, how Kina always acted as she pleased whenever it came to political matters.
She truly did whatever she wanted. Though many liked her because she was beautiful, talented and good at her duties related to the dangers of this world.
But many also disliked her because Kina never stepped in personally when it came to community programs.
And... one day, she suddenly made a move that gave many in the community great anticipation.
But they had to be disappointed.
Because what Kina built was only things that venerated Julian. From statues, merchandise, and there was even an incident once where all the media and the big screens hanging in the center of Central showed a novelist reading out his own novel.
It was a novel written with Julian as the main character. It was easy to guess who had done that.
If asked, why did she do that?
Kina would always react only with amusement.
—Why? Because people need to know how amazing Master is.
How bad was Kina’s behavior?
It was so bad that the other Great Families began to protest. But they didn’t protest to Kina because they lacked the courage, they protested to Lurker instead.
—Lurker! Damn it! Do something, that bastard is starting to act strange!
—AAACKK—! LURKER! HURRYYY! WHY IS A STATUE OF LORD JULIAN ALSO BEING BUILT ON THE EMPTY LAND NEAR MY BUSINESS DISTRICT!?
They all shouted, saying one terrible thing after another.
And Lurker’s reaction?
—You should be grateful.
Lurker was in fact thinking about himself.
Because his room had now become a storage space for things that made him feel fear.
His wardrobe was full of clothes given by Kina, merchandise, pillowcases, small statues, and all kinds of things.
All of them bearing the same motif, Julian.
Everything was... JULIAN.
No need to go on at length. To understand all of this, there was only one sentence that made it clear how to express Kina’s true personality.
The Ice Empress - Kina Mivelo - Bastard.
