Chapter 412: Chapter 239: Adjusting the Division of Labor

"He’s President Feng’s classmate, you know. The assistant was going to ask President Feng for instructions, but then you showed up, and President Feng couldn’t spare a single moment!"

Chen Xiao rubbed his chin. ’Looks like I’ve inadvertently foiled Hou Fei’s plans again, leaving him with no one to turn to.’

However, judging by the announcement from HR, it was a case of punishing both sides equally. Clearly, the company had had enough of Hou Fei’s character.

Chen Xiao had no time to waste on someone like Hou Fei.

Both he and Yuan Kai were just passersby in his life.

Yino Group, Fifth War Zone

Xu Jia knocked on the door to Liu Haoran’s office.

He looked up and smiled. "President Xu, please come in!"

The group’s official appointment hadn’t been announced yet, but Xu Jia’s promotion to General Manager of the Yino Jiangzhou Branch had already been internally approved.

Good fortune lifts the spirits. Though Xu Jia had a straightforward personality, she was very detail-oriented.

"I must thank you for your trust and support, President Liu!"

"Have a seat. Let’s not stand on ceremony."

With the year coming to an end, Liu Haoran had called Xu Jia in to discuss the budget for Spring Festival gifts.

During the holidays, a service provider like Yino Group would have a certain budget. They could choose to buy gift cards or their own company’s cash vouchers to show their appreciation to important clients during the festive season.

In previous years, the Yino Jiangzhou Branch’s budget for a single holiday was only about 20,000 yuan, so it was naturally impossible to give gifts to every mall or all relevant personnel.

They only selected personnel from clients who they regularly worked with, and who either supported Yino Group or were expected to in the future.

Because the Yino Jiangzhou Branch had performed well this year, the group had made a special exception, raising the budget from 20,000 to 40,000 yuan.

Liu Haoran had called Xu Jia in to inform her of this and to give her some guidance on the principles for using these funds.

After all, although Xu Jia was now a general manager, she wasn’t yet familiar with many aspects of the business.

He had already taken the initiative on her behalf and arranged for someone to purchase gift cards for Junxiao Square. With six Junxiao Square locations now, and most of their clients located in Jiangzhou, the cards would be very useful.

"You can personally deliver these cards to our most important clients. It’s a chance to build rapport. As the new general manager, you need to properly maintain these client relationships."

This was the main reason Liu Haoran wanted Xu Jia to deliver the gifts herself. Eventually, she would have to take over Yino’s Hanjiang Region affairs, so this was a good opportunity for her to get to know the heads of the various projects.

The good thing was that Yino Group’s most important clients in Jiangzhou all had connections to Chen Xiao. They were also aware of the relationship between Yino Company and Chen Xiao. So, it wouldn’t be like in previous years when Liu Haoran would go in person, only to drop off a card without being able to exchange more than a few words.

"Here’s a list I’ve drafted of the people to give them to. They’re all from our most important stores."

Xu Jia took the list and glanced at it. Wow. Out of a dozen or so people, four were from Junxiao Square and one was from Ganglong International, making up nearly half the list.

The rest included Wanhong Square and several key department stores in Jiangzhou and other cities.

"I suggest you personally visit the shopping centers and get to know their general managers. As for the department stores, although they’re still doing okay, they’re on the decline. You can have your subordinates deliver those."

By "subordinates," Liu Haoran meant the operations manager or the development manager. They also dealt with the malls regularly and could use the holiday gift-giving as a chance to get their faces known.

Xu Jia nodded along as she listened. She completely agreed with Liu Haoran’s assessment; she really did need to communicate more with the heads of the malls.

As the general manager of a retail enterprise, one typically needed to understand both operations and development. GMs were usually promoted from one of those two positions.

Xu Jia had previously been in charge of operations but knew nothing about development. This was an area where she needed to step up her learning.

"Also, you can take over my old company car. It will be more convenient for you when you travel for store inspections."

After Liu Haoran was promoted to regional president, the company had bought him a high-end Buick GL8, leaving his old car for Xu Jia.

Xu Jia was a fan of new energy vehicles. Every time she rode in Zhao Xiangjun’s Wisdom Realm R7, she was captivated by the smart driving features.

But this was a company car with a driver, so she had nothing to complain about. Besides, her Ren Jie had won a Junxing M7 in a lottery, and they could pick it up when it launched in March.

’I can’t believe the day has come when I’m getting a dedicated car and driver!’ Xu Jia’s spirits soared as she left Liu Haoran’s office, and even the freckles on her face seemed to dance with joy.

She was still working at her desk in the retail department. After all, the official appointment hadn’t been announced, and besides Liu Haoran, no one else at the company knew yet.

Once that appointment email went out, everyone at the Yino Jiangzhou Branch would probably be completely shocked.

For one, they wouldn’t expect Liu Haoran to hand over his regional leadership role so quickly after becoming regional president. For another, they wouldn’t imagine such an important position would be filled by a transfer from headquarters. And most absurdly of all, the person chosen was Xu Jia—a recent hire who had already received several consecutive promotions.

Junxiao Square Store, Business Management Office Area

Because the Junxiao Lakefront CBD Center was still under renovation, the headquarters for the Junxiao Business Management Company was still located at the Junxiao Square Store.

Lin Ya was also here today. Xu Jun had called him and Zhao Hui together for a short meeting about the business management company’s work.

Both Zhao Hui and Lin Ya had now been promoted to Vice President of the Junxiao Business Management Company.
