Chapter 641: Is It Fun to Sneak Attack?
Chapter 641 -640: Is It Fun to Sneak Attack?
A familiar figure stepped through the Space-Time Gate—it was Yi Tianyun. His face was just as they remembered, unchanged. How could Elder Luo and the others not recognize him upon seeing him?
But this was a critical moment. While they were grateful that Yi Tianyun had appeared to help them, given the current situation, wasn’t he just walking to his death?
Two Saint King Stage powerhouses were present, with numerous Spirit King Stage experts not far off. Even if his cultivation was decent—enough to kill five Spirit King Stage experts in a row—he was now facing two at the Saint King Stage. Even they themselves could do nothing but await their deaths!
There were simply too many powerhouses, especially the group who could wield Celestial Yin Fire. If they joined forces, not even the Immortal Fire could suppress them.
“Get out of here!” Elder Luo roared. “You foolish humans! Are you trying to kill your way in and take advantage of our plight?”
He had suddenly roared, hurling insults at Yi Tianyun instead of greeting him with a smile. Of course, he wasn’t truly angry at him; he was deliberately putting on a stern face to drive him away, hoping Ji Yang and his men wouldn’t realize Yi Tianyun was a friend of the Phoenix Race.
“Father…” Luo Yan’s eyes reddened the moment she saw Yi Tianyun, but she clenched her jaw and said nothing more.
Yi Tianyun ignored Elder Luo’s words and continued walking toward them, his gaze on Luo Yan filled with surprise. ‘To have grown up so much in such a short time… she must have undergone a transformation. Otherwise, she couldn’t have changed so quickly.’
The Phoenix Race was special in this regard. A single transformation could bring about a drastic change. One moment they could be a child, and the next, after their metamorphosis, they could become a graceful young woman.
“Did you think I wouldn’t see through your little act?” Ji Yang said, watching Yi Tianyun approach with mocking amusement in his eyes. “I heard the one who repaired the Divine Runes was a human expert. It’s most likely him. Taking advantage of your plight? With so many Cultivators from the Celestial Nether Divine Kingdom outside, who would dare to just barge in…?”
Only then did he remember that the Heaven and Earth Net was deployed outside. It was incredibly difficult to get through. Unless one slaughtered their way through a group of Cultivators, getting in was simply impossible!
For Yi Tianyun to stride in so boldly meant that the Heaven and Earth Net had been broken. Of course, there was also the possibility that he had merely slipped past it.
Ji Yang’s words caused the expressions of Elder Luo and the others to change drastically. He immediately shouted, “Leave, now! That’s the National Preceptor of the Celestial Nether Divine Kingdom! You can’t defeat him!”
“Is there any point in shouting now? Once you’re in my sights, there’s no escape.” Ji Yang was in no hurry at all. He waved his hand, signaling his subordinates to surround Yi Tianyun. “To reach the level of a Divine Rune Grandmaster at such a young age… I’ll give you a chance. Surrender to me, and I guarantee you a life of wealth and prestige. If you desire, you can even take your pick of these members of the Phoenix Race to command. On top of that, other positions await you—far better than what you’d have staying here.”
Ji Yang could tell Yi Tianyun cared for Luo Yan, which was why he dangled this temptation. He always had an appreciation for talent, and he was facing a genius. That said, since Yi Tianyun was human, Ji Yang had no interest in him as a person—only in his abilities.
“Is that so?” Yi Tianyun sneered. “In that case, I want the entire Phoenix Race under my command. Would you agree to that?”
Ji Yang’s expression didn’t change. He maintained a faint smile—the smile of someone who had everything under control.
“Truly a loyal dog of the Phoenix Race,” Ji Yang chuckled. “Do you really think the Phoenix Race has any chance of winning?”
“A loyal dog of the Phoenix Race, you say?” Yi Tianyun replied calmly. “Even so, I’d say that puts me a cut above a piece of trash like you. And of course they’ll win. Because I’m here.”
“Hahaha, aren’t you afraid of biting your tongue, spouting such nonsense?” Ji Yang waved his hand impatiently. “That’s enough. The entertainment is over. Stop wasting my time. Finish him. Make his death painful.”
The three Spirit King Stage experts surrounding him immediately pounced without hesitation. The weakest among them was at the fourth level of the Spirit King Stage, while the strongest had reached the sixth level.
These were all elite powerhouses, though it wasn’t the group of twelve who came forward to surround him.
“Father!” Luo Yan cried out, her face pale with terror and her heart in her throat.
None of them had seen Yi Tianyun fight before, but the three experts surrounding him now were far stronger than those he had faced on the Ascension Divine Altar.
Yi Tianyun reached out his hand, and the Celestial Nether Divine Sword fell into his grasp, radiating a cold light!
FWOOSH!
Netherworld Fire erupted along the blade, instantly setting the air ablaze. The moment the sword appeared, Ji Yang’s and his followers’ pupils constricted. Of course they recognized that Longsword—it was a Divine Artifact of the Celestial Nether Divine Kingdom, yet now it was in Yi Tianyun’s hands!
Instantly, they recalled a recent incident: a human had killed five Spirit King Stage experts in a row and had even obtained the inheritance of the Creation Celestial Divine King!
“Don’t get close to him!” Ji Yang yelled hastily.
But it was too late. A colossal phantom appeared behind Yi Tianyun. He spun and slashed, and the giant phantom shot forward, piercing through the air with unrivaled, ferocious power.
The three powerhouses had charged in with little preparation and were run through by the colossal phantom. Their bodies froze mid-stride. Then, with a wet SCHLICK, their heads were sent flying as three geysers of blood erupted from their necks—a gruesome spectacle.
“Ding! Successfully killed a sixth-level Spirit King Stage expert. Experience gained…”
“Ding! Successfully…”
He had effortlessly slain three Spirit King Stage experts in a row. Even though their cultivation levels were higher than his, they were nothing but trash before his superior equipment!
He wore the Desolate Ancient Wilderness Necklace and the Desolate Ancient Wilderness Ring. Those two items alone were enough to overwhelm his opponents. More importantly, he was also wearing the Evil God Set. Since he hadn’t activated its transformation, it simply appeared as a pitch-black suit of armor, giving him a devilishly charismatic aura.
“Do you recognize this sword?” Yi Tianyun said with a calm smile. “It’s a decent sword. I haven’t really had a chance to use it. Today, I’ll use your own Divine Sword to make a blood sacrifice of you all… including you.”
Before his voice had even faded, a look of terror appeared on Luo Yan’s face. She opened her mouth to shout a warning, but she was a split second too late.
A figure had appeared behind Yi Tianyun at some unknown moment. Wreathed in a ghostly blue light, it thrust toward his back, moving so fast it was nothing but a blur.
A cold, disdainful sneer had already formed on Ji Yang’s lips.
Without even a glance behind him, Yi Tianyun swung his sword in a powerful backhand slash. The Evil God Set on his body flared with a stunning black light. Instantly, an incomparably domineering black Sword Aura erupted behind him, soaring dozens of feet into the air before crashing down!
BOOM!
The figure was sent flying backward, relentlessly driven back by the Sword Aura as it bit deeper and deeper into his body, threatening to slice him in two!
“Break!”
The man roared, slamming his palms together. With a loud BANG, he managed to shatter the Sword Aura, but a ghastly wound had been carved into his body—so deep that bone was visible.
Only then did the crowd clearly see the attacker: it was the Nether God Divine General. Yet now, he had been sent reeling by a single strike from Yi Tianyun, almost sliced in half.
“Having fun with the sneak attack?” Yi Tianyun sneered. ‘As if I wouldn’t have sensed him.’
With the stacked effects of his many pieces of equipment, his speed was so terrifying that even a Saint King would have to give way. A casual counterattack was more than enough to keep pace.
