Chapter 241

Li Yuexin stood at Liyu’s door, her gaze locked onto the Liyu she had been looking after all this while. The bowl she had been carrying to wash his face clattered onto the ground the moment she saw him flash her a smile. “I am back…”

Hearing his calm words, she rushed forward. Before her mind could even process what was happening, she was already right before him, giving him a warm, tight hug. Her voice was filled with relief and joy. “I was so worried…”

“You have slept for such a long time.” Liyu smiled and eventually broke himself free from her tight embrace after a while. There was a reason for that. Feeling her soft body pressed against him like that was making his body react in ways that it shouldn’t.

After breaking away, Liyu looked at her properly. “Wait…” “Why do you look like this?” To put it in short and simple words… Li Yuexin looked like a mess.

Yuexin didn’t answer immediately. She simply continued staring at him, as if taking her eyes away from him for even a second would somehow cause him to fall into a coma once more. After a while, though, she finally came out of her trance.

And after making sure that Liyu was completely fine, she answered his question. She was the one who had decided to take care of Liyu throughout the entire two months. According to her, she couldn’t trust anyone else to take care of him in her place.

Hearing that he had been taken care of by her the entire time made Liyu feel a little awkward. He shook his head. He shouldn’t think about that. “Hey, little sis…” “Where are Uncle and the others?”

Li Yuexin paused and rubbed her head. “I am not really focused on what is going on outside.” “I have only cared about you waking up.” She answered with a sincere expression. Liyu blinked. Then he looked away.

Get a grip on yourself, fool. Liyu shouted at himself inwardly. “Should I call them over?” Yuexin asked. Hearing that, Liyu nodded. “I would like to see Uncle.”

She nodded and turned around to go get the Clan Lord. However, as she reached the door, she suddenly stopped. She looked back at Liyu. “I will be back in a moment.” “So don’t fall asleep.”

Her meaning was clear. She didn’t want him to fall into a coma before she came around once more. Liyu gave a small nod. It wasn’t like he was some particular reflection of his that knew nothing but how to sleep. Besides… There were a lot of things he needed to deal with.

Such as finding out when he would depart with the others for the Gold Valley Sect. Before that, however, he needed to get his sweet treasures from the Shi Clan. And at the same time, he had to go to the Beast Forest to get all his beast cores.

Well… He wasn’t really the one who had slain all those beasts. That had been done by his three clones. But they were still him in a sense, so he would help them harvest the beast cores.

Thinking about it now… There might be something wrong with that plan of his. After all, he had been asleep for two months. Two whole months. That meant the beast cores had been lying around in the Beast Forest for an entire two months now.

If the beast cores hadn’t been harvested by humans already, there was a real chance that they had already been consumed by other beasts. It would hurt him like hell if that happened. After all… Those beast cores would cost a fortune. Literally.

Something suddenly sparked in Liyu’s mind when he thought about a fortune. “Wait…” “What about all the money I won during the tournament?” There should be around a million or so gold coins. That amount of money wasn’t something Liyu was willing to let go of.

Liyu heaved a deep sigh. He was just about to rush up and ask where his money was when the door suddenly swung open. Liyu turned his head. Standing at the doorstep was his uncle.

The Clan Lord stood there, looking at him with a small, warm smile on his face. “You are truly awake.” Seeing his uncle’s warm smile, Liyu also smiled. “Yeah.”

Li San walked forward and gave Liyu a gentle pat on the head as if he were a child. Well… Maybe to the old guy, he was still the same little kid. “How are you feeling?” “Did you feel any pain?” “Any discomfort?”

Liyu spent the first few minutes answering his uncle’s questions. After he thought they were finally done with the questions, however… Li San’s face became even more serious. He turned toward Yuexin, who was still right inside the room.

“Stay at the door.” “I have a few things to ask.” Li San’s tone was serious. It immediately made Liyu feel worried. Something bad must have happened while he was unconscious. Yuexin nodded and walked out.

After she left, Li San used the Silent Spell Technique to make sure that no one could hear their conversation. Then he turned toward Liyu. His face was serious. He looked like he wanted to discuss the end of the world with Liyu.

That would be quite ironic. After all, Liyu had practically witnessed the end of the world in his unwanted dream. “Liyu…” Liyu’s face also became serious. “Yes, Uncle.” “I’m listening.”

“Tell me…” “Who is your teacher?” Liyu’s mind went blank. He blinked. “Wait…” “What?” “Who is your teacher?” “Where are they?”

Liyu blinked once. Then twice. Then several more times as he tried to come to terms with the fact that the groundbreaking thing he thought his uncle wanted to discuss with him was all about this. Like… what the hell?

Who said he had a teacher? He had no teacher. Liyu rubbed his head. He was about to say that he had no teacher when Li San spoke again. “Don’t be afraid.” “I wouldn’t try to do anything to them.”

“With the kind of power they must wield, I doubt they would be worried even if a weak cultivator like myself knew their name.” “Let’s start from the simplest part and work our way up.” “First…” “Are they male or female?”

Liyu was still trying to tell him that he had no teacher. But he decided against it when he realized something. He had used all his cards and gone all out during the Tournament of the Three Great Clans.

In that tournament, he had shown far too many things that didn’t make any sense. So yes… He understood that he needed to provide an explanation for all the freakish skills and combat prowess he had displayed. He didn’t have time to think of one, though.

Perhaps he should just go with the flow. As much as Liyu trusted his uncle, he couldn’t tell him the truth yet. Most of Liyu’s overwhelming power during the tournament had come from the system and his innate ability… The Infinite Reflection ability.

And neither of those two things was something Liyu planned on sharing. So perhaps he would simply follow along with whatever his uncle said. He should just answer his questions.

“A male or female…” Liyu paused and placed a hand on his chin as if seriously considering his answer. After a while, though, he shrugged. “Sincerely, I can’t tell.” “Their face is covered by a hood.” “I have a feeling that they might be a male, though.”

Hearing that, Li San nodded. He didn’t think Liyu was wrong or right. It was just as he had expected. The figure had masked their presence from Liyu, who possessed such an incredibly high sense. They surely weren’t in the Mortal Stage. The Core Stage at the very least…

Li San paused for a moment before turning toward Liyu again. “How did you guys meet?” “And why did they decide to train you?” Li San continued with his questioning. Liyu blinked before answering. “Well…”

“When I first met him…” “He came from the water in a mirror reflection.” “The mirror reflected me and then faded, leaving him behind.” “And about why he decided to train me…” “I think it is because I am all alone, and he wanted me to be his partner.”

Liyu said it without knowing whether his lies had already been seen through by Li San or not. But when he turned his eyes toward his uncle… He saw Li San with small, grateful tears in his eyes. Liyu’s face practically soul-twitched.

Wait… He actually believed me?

—–

Just author inner rant:

“???? Li San really said: “Your mysterious master must be terrifying.”

Meanwhile Liyu internally:

“I literally just made this shit up.” ??

And then he looks over and sees his uncle with grateful tears in his eyes.

Liyu: “WAIT… HE ACTUALLY BELIEVED ME?!” ??
