My Child and I Married a Billionaire

Chapter 423: Seeing Him Again

"Tim Tate!"

Amina had just turned around when Zeke Walton suddenly rushed out of the house.

He stood on the high steps, looking down as he yelled at Linden.

"These sofas in the living room are in the way. Come inside and move them all."

Zeke Walton?

Hearing that familiar voice after so long, Amina thought she was hallucinating and quickly turned back to look.

At the entrance of the beautiful, imposing villa stood a tall, elegant young man. Who else could it be?

’So he’s the one throwing this party. This villa is his.’

How many days had it been since she last saw him? Amina couldn’t remember.

Ever since she left him, her mind had been in a constant fog. She was always spacing out. All she knew was work, work, work; she couldn’t remember much else.

Zeke Walton was doing well. He was still so young, so handsome.

He seemed happy with so many beautiful women around him. The sight made Amina’s heart ache, yet she also felt a sense of contentment.

It was heartbreaking that he could live so well without her—and would only live better and better—while she, after leaving him...

But at the same time, this was what she had hoped for, what she had wanted.

No matter how she was doing, she hoped Zeke Walton would always be well.

Seeing him happy brought her more joy than her own happiness ever could.

Amina knew she had promised Zeke’s mother that she wouldn’t appear before him again, much less speak to him.

But she had missed him for so long, longed to see him for so long. Now that she finally saw him today, she couldn’t help herself.

"Zeke Walton."

She spoke his name tentatively.

Zeke Walton pretended to casually shift his gaze to her face.

"Who’s this? Oh, it’s you. What are you doing here?"

Tim Tate had no idea the two knew each other.

Seeing Amina strike up a conversation with his distinguished employer, who didn’t seem to recall her name, he excitedly rushed to stand between them.

"You two know each other? What a coincidence, sir! This is Amina, she’s here to make a delivery. We grew up together in the same village. Amina, how do you know him?"

Amina was even more shocked than he was.

’Linden knows Zeke Walton, too?’

Veridia was so big, with tens of millions of people, yet somehow their paths had all intersected...

Amina felt a pang of guilt.

’Linden shouldn’t have mentioned that they grew up together in the same village.’

When she lied to Zeke to break up with him, she hadn’t mentioned Linden by name, but she had described her "new boyfriend." Didn’t this basically confirm to Zeke that the two of them were a couple?

And sure enough, that’s exactly what Zeke Walton thought.

"Last time, you said you had a girlfriend who was a delivery driver. It couldn’t be her, could it?"

Linden had claimed Amina was his girlfriend without discussing it with her first, so he was a bit embarrassed now that Zeke had called him out.

But the cat was out of the bag. ’Amina probably wouldn’t embarrass me now, right?’ He brazenly admitted it.

"Yes, yes, that’s her. We’re truly fated to meet! We all know each other. It seems like heaven itself is trying to bring us together."

’Pah, who the hell do you think you are? Fated to meet *you*?’

Zeke Walton looked at his gleeful face with disgust and anger, letting out a cold sneer.

"Yeah, I never expected we were so fated. How far have you two taken things? Since I know you both, I guess I’ll have to give you a wedding gift when you get married."

Linden glanced at Amina, his face full of delight as he prepared to chat more with Zeke Walton, but Amina stepped forward and stopped him.

"That’s not certain yet, so don’t talk nonsense. Linden, you should get back to work. Talk less and do more when you’re on the clock. I should get going, too. I still have to work."

Linden could tell Amina was unhappy. He looked sheepish, shut his mouth, and went inside the house.

"Sir, how should I move the sofas?"

"Whatever."

Zeke Walton didn’t even glance at him. He just stood there, staring intently at Amina.

Amina said she had to leave, but her legs wouldn’t move.

She desperately wanted to talk to Zeke Walton alone, to hear his voice a little longer, but...

"Enjoy your meal, and please remember to leave a five-star review. If there’s nothing else, I’ll be on my way."

Zeke Walton didn’t try to stop her. He just watched her back recede into the distance. A heavy feeling rose from the pit of his stomach and lodged in his throat. The pain was unbearable.

Back inside, Tim Tate was struggling to move a sofa to the side. Annoyed, Zeke yelled at him again.

"Stop moving it. Move it back."

"Huh? Didn’t you say they were in the way?"

"Just move them. And cut the crap."

Wyatt Wynn knew Zeke Walton was upset. Having so many people around would only give him a headache, so once the girls finished eating and drinking, he sent them away.

He got two bottles of red wine from his car.

"Have a drink. Get a good night’s sleep after, and starting tomorrow, let this go. It’s not worth it. Zeke, you can’t see the forest for the trees. From my perspective, there’s really nothing special about her. She’s not worth all this."

Zeke Walton knew she wasn’t special, that she wasn’t worth it, but he couldn’t control his own mind.

"Wynn, do you look down on me now? Do you think I’m a damn fool, a joke?"

Zeke Walton didn’t know about the situation between Wyatt Wynn and Faye Fisher. If he did, who knows what he’d say about Wyatt? Right now, Wyatt was in no position to mock anyone.

"Come on. I’m your brother. If something’s really up, you think I wouldn’t have your back?"

After they finished the wine, Wyatt Wynn had something to take care of at home, so he had his driver pick him up and went home.

Zeke Walton, his eyes hazy with drink, went outside for a look. Linden was truly a diligent keeper, watching over his precious little pig and ambling aimlessly on the lawn.

’A man like that—stupid, dense, inflexible, uncultured, with no future, no better than an ant—is he even worthy of stealing my woman? Of making me suffer like this!’

"Tim Tate!"

Linden hurried over. "What is it, sir?"

"Your shift is over. You can go home."

He had arrived at 8 a.m., and now it was 6 p.m. It was about time to leave.

This job was great. It was low-stress, and the hours were regular. Linden was very happy.

"Okay, sir. I’ll be back tomorrow morning. But there’s no pigpen here. What about the pig tonight?"

"I’m here. Do you need to worry about that? Go."

Linden left.

Staring at the unsightly pig, Zeke Walton made a phone call. Soon, someone came and hauled it away.

He threw himself onto the sofa in frustration.

Early the next morning, Linden arrived at the villa on time.

The villa’s electric gate was wide open, and both the yard and the house were silent.

He first searched the lawn but saw no sign of the pig.

He circled the villa several times, front and back, but still couldn’t see it.

’Could it be that the sir was so kindhearted that he brought it inside, worried it would get cold, hungry, or run away?’

’A pig getting to live in a villa... what treatment.’

He boldly rang the doorbell.

Having been unable to sleep most of the night, Zeke Walton had just started to feel drowsy. He irritably opened his eyes. "Who is it?"

"It’s me, Tim Tate. I’m here for work, sir."

A moment later, the door opened.

Zeke Walton’s hair was a mess, his eyes were heavy with sleep, and his face was full of anger.

"If you’re here for work, then go take care of the pig! Why are you ringing the doorbell? I just fell asleep!"

Linden froze. ’Go take care of the pig? But...’
