My Child and I Married a Billionaire

Chapter 422: You’re Raising a Pig?

Zeke Walton didn’t need them to kowtow.

Their heads weren’t worth anything, and neither was their gratitude, so he insisted on pulling them to their feet.

"Linden, remember to report for duty on time tomorrow. You two get some rest. I have other things to attend to."

The next morning, Linden went to a villa community at the address Zeke Walton had given him.

The security guard wouldn’t let him in, so he called Zeke Walton. Zeke came to the gate to get him personally, then introduced him to the guard.

"This is my new butler. From now on, you two are friends."

Linden didn’t understand.

’Wasn’t I supposed to be an assistant? How did I suddenly become a butler?’

After registering his face for identification, Zeke Walton led him to Villa 13 and pointed to a large, stout, spotted pig on the lawn that looked to be two or three hundred pounds.

"See that? It used to be only this big,"

Zeke Walton gestured in the air with his hands.

"My mom bought it. She was tricked—told it was a guinea pig, but as she raised it, it turned into a huge hog. My mom is basically a Buddhist; she’s been a vegetarian her whole life and would never kill a living thing. So, even though it wasn’t what she wanted, she kept raising it for over a year now. Our apartment is just not a place to keep it, so I specifically brought it here. But this thing is incredibly destructive, and it has no control over its bowels at all. Linden, you grew up in the countryside, so you have more experience with this. From now on, I’m entrusting the great responsibility of caring for it to you. You can handle that, right?"

Linden had imagined he’d be like something out of a TV show: wearing a sharp suit, carrying a briefcase, and following the CEO around to meetings. Instead, he was here to look at a pig.

After a moment of disappointment, he decided it was actually pretty good.

Zeke Walton was right. He had grown up in the countryside; taking care of a pig would be a piece of cake for him.

’If they had actually put me in an office, I probably wouldn’t have been able to handle it.’

’As long as I get paid, it’s fine.’

"No problem, sir. I guarantee I’ll raise it to be nice and fat."

"Well, there’s no need for it to be too nice or too fat; it’s already plump enough. Just whatever you eat for your three daily meals, make a little extra for it. Take it for a walk every now and then, collect its droppings, make sure it doesn’t get too dirty, doesn’t start to smell weird, and doesn’t get complaints from the neighbors. That’s all, okay?"

"No problem, sir. I understand."

"All right then, go on and get acquainted with it. I’m going back inside to work for a bit."

Zeke Walton went into the villa first, and Linden walked over to the pig.

Zeke Walton watched from the window as Linden squatted in front of the pig, scratching its back and rubbing its belly. He sneered and dialed Wyatt Wynn’s number.

"Feeling any better? If not, I invite you to come see something hilarious. It’ll give you a laugh."

"What’s so hilarious?"

"I’ll send you the address. You’ll know when you get here."

Soon, Wyatt Wynn arrived.

The moment he stepped through the villa’s main gate, he saw a huge, spotted pig lying lazily on the lawn, sleeping, while a person squatted beside it, scratching its belly. He thought he had come to the wrong place.

Only when he saw Zeke Walton’s face peering from behind a window did he dare to enter.

"Are you insane? Why the hell would you keep a pig at your house? It’s huge! Are you trying to start a pig farm? Damn, I thought my eyes were playing tricks on me. I’ve seen it all now."

Zeke Walton said, "I have my reasons. Don’t worry about it. The point isn’t the pig; it’s the person. See the guy taking care of it?"

Wyatt Wynn wasn’t blind. Wasn’t that the guy from the other day...? Then he remembered.

His little ex-girlfriend’s current boyfriend.

"You’ve already started the plan? You got him over to your house this fast? What are you trying to do?"

Zeke Walton sneered. "What am I doing? Why, I’m letting the little lovebirds reunite, of course. Letting them be all lovey-dovey right in front of me so I can feel that true love still exists in this world. The girl is coming over soon. What do you think her reaction will be when she sees her boyfriend here, raising a pig for someone?"

Wyatt Wynn realized Zeke Walton wasn’t just your average sicko; he was the kind who could come up with such a malicious trick. At the same time, though, he found it pretty satisfying.

’Can’t be too polite when dealing with a wicked woman like her.’

"How should I know? She’ll be one hundred percent disgusted. Especially since he’s raising a pig for her ex-boyfriend. They’ll probably break up over this. But what if she breaks up with this guy and comes running back to you...?"

"What the hell, you think I’m that desperate for women? You think I’ll just take her back if she comes crying to me? By the way, didn’t you say the other day you’d find some beauties to hang out with us and kill some time? We’ve got nothing better to do anyway, so call them over."

Wyatt Wynn surveyed the villa. "This place is completely bare. What are they going to do when you call them over?"

"If there’s nothing here, I can just buy it, can’t I? I’m ordering it now. You just worry about getting the people here."

Amina received a massive order.

Thirty Starbucks coffees, thirty fruit teas, thirty milk teas, one large cake, ten fruit platters, and thirty cupcakes.

She had to stuff the rear storage box, cram things under the seat, hang bags from both handlebars of her electric scooter, and hold another full box in her arms just to get everything transported.

When her electric scooter reached the villa gate, the security guard wouldn’t let her ride in, so she had no choice but to make a call.

Zeke Walton had left Wyatt Wynn’s number on the order. Wyatt told the beauties to go out and help, and six scantily clad, hot-bodied women went out.

Everyone carried a few items, and Amina followed them to Villa 13.

The house was incredibly lively, with waves of music blasting. It was obviously a party.

Amina wanted to just drop off the items and leave, but as soon as she stepped inside, she heard a familiar voice.

"Amina?"

Amina turned her head to look. ’Linden? What’s he doing here?’

’And... and what’s going on with him? Why is there a pig standing next to him?’

Linden ran toward her with a smile. "Are you here to make a delivery? Go ahead and drop it off first. We can talk when you come back out."

Looking completely bewildered, Amina hurried inside, put the things down, and confirmed the order was correct. Then she returned to Linden.

"How did you end up here? What is...?"

Linden told her all about the huge fire that had happened the day before.

"I’m the butler here now. There isn’t much to do, really, just taking care of this pig. I know it doesn’t sound great, but the work is pretty relaxed, and the pay isn’t bad either."

Afraid that Amina would look down on him, he tried his best to frame his job in a positive light.

Amina wasn’t some person of wealth and status herself, so of course she wouldn’t look down on him.

"This family seems pretty kind, hiring someone specifically to take care of a pig. The big city really is something else, huh? Even the pigs live more refined lives than people from small towns."

Linden said, "I know, right? The family is great. I’m sure I’ll get a raise if I work here long enough. I think this is a pretty good job. What do you think?"

Amina saw him as just a regular friend. She was happy for him that he could maintain such a positive attitude after suffering such a huge setback.

"I think it’s great, too. Keep up the good work. Hardships are only temporary."

Looking at the considerate Amina, Linden was overjoyed. "Right, right, right, it’s all temporary. Things will definitely get better."

"Well, you get back to it. I have more orders on my phone, so I have to go."

Amina waved goodbye to him, and Linden reluctantly waved goodbye back.

Wyatt Wynn stood beside Zeke Walton, watching the expressions on their faces crystal clear through the window.

’This isn’t funny at all.’

’The girl isn’t disgusted with him in the slightest; she’s even encouraging him. This is...’

Instead, Zeke Walton, who had so carefully laid the groundwork for this very moment, had become the biggest joke in the whole affair.
