Chapter 795 795: To The Beast Continent
“My goodness… the clan will fall apart at this rate. How am I supposed to lead the clan forward from here? What choices will truly benefit the clan?” Nolan muttered as he leaned against his chair, exhaling deeply. He felt helpless.
‘We can only do what is necessary for the clan’s survival. Everything else will depend on the path we take from here.’ Nolan thought before picking up his pen and continuing his work.
After considering Angela’s warning, he finally decided to stop trying to convince Yuan and his wives to stay with the clan. Knowing Yuan’s capabilities, Nolan understood it would be far too risky.
And as a wise leader, Nolan knew when to set aside pride and ambition for the sake of the clan’s survival.
Later, Nolan issued an order to strengthen security at the clan’s borders. They had made enemies of the Drake Clan, and retaliation was only a matter of time.
He had received reports that members of the Drake Clan had been spotted near the border, engaging in suspicious activities. Some had even been seen entering the Blank Clan’s territory, likely using the cover of the snowstorm and the darkness of night.
Though their intentions were unclear, Nolan was certain that their purpose was not peaceful. They were likely attempting to sow chaos or gather information.
Thus, he reinforced security not only at the border but also within the clan estate. From now on, anyone entering the estate would be thoroughly checked before receiving permission to enter.
Meanwhile, Angela and Aisha packed their belongings into their spatial rings. The space inside was vast, allowing them to bring almost anything.
However, they left behind all items related to magic, as magical artifacts were now meaningless to them. Besides, they had no sentimental attachments to such objects.
Once packing was complete, the two of them exited their rooms and headed for the kitchen. Since this would be their last day in the clan, they wanted to enjoy a small feast before their departure.
“Who’s in charge of the kitchen?” Angela asked as she looked around the massive palace kitchen, where over fifty chefs were busily working.
“That would be me. I’m the head of the kitchen, Matriarch Angela,” a voice called out from a distance.
Angela and Aisha turned toward the voice and saw a middle-aged man approaching them with a wide grin on his face.
“Ah? Chef Jimin! I thought you’d retired. I assumed you’d taken on an apprentice and were enjoying a peaceful life,” Angela said in surprise as she recognized the man holding a spatula.
“Haha! Cooking is my passion, not a job, Lady Angela. And honestly, I’m not confident my apprentices can handle feeding the entire clan without running into trouble,” Chef Jimin replied with a hearty laugh.
He added, “They still have a long way to go before they can match me. Until the day I die of old age, I’ll continue feeding this clan with my cooking.” First seen on MV4LEMP|YR.
“Is that so…” Angela said, looking genuinely surprised as she observed the passionate glow on Chef Jimin’s face while he spoke about cooking.
“By the way, Lady Angela, I’ve heard that you’ll be leaving the clan along with Miss Aisha?” Chef Jimin asked curiously.
“You heard right, Chef Jimin. In fact, I’ll be leaving tomorrow morning,” Angela replied with a gentle smile. Chef Jimin couldn’t miss the excitement twinkling in her eyes as she spoke about her upcoming journey.
“Tomorrow, huh? Well, good luck on your journey. That’s all I can say,” he said sincerely.
Then he added, “By the way, why were you looking for me? Is there something I can help you with?”
“There is something I’d like you to do for me,” Angela nodded. “I want you to prepare a feast for us—not for the whole clan, just for a few people. But I want every dish in large quantities.”
“Is that all?”
“That’s all. Oh, and make sure to use only the finest ingredients. I want my grandchildren to enjoy the very best dishes before leaving the clan,” she added before leaving the kitchen with Aisha.
A couple of minutes later, Angela and Aisha joined Yuan and his wives. They were relaxing in the bedroom, with Yuan gently embracing Anna and Grace as they spent time together.
“I’ve asked the chefs to prepare a feast for us, considering this is our last day in the clan. I want us to celebrate today before setting out for the Beast Continent tomorrow morning,” Angela said, her tone slightly awkward as she glanced at Yuan, who was holding both his mothers in his arms.
“That’s a wonderful idea, Grandma! Let’s celebrate our final day in the clan with some delicious food!” Lily exclaimed, her face glowing with excitement.
Xi Meili’s eyes also lit up the moment she heard the word food leave Lily’s mouth, sparkling with childlike anticipation.
“I’m already starting to feel hungry…” Xi Meili mumbled under her breath.
“It’s not ready yet. Just be patient, dear,” Anna said warmly, gently stroking Xi Meili’s hair with a smile.
A few minutes passed, and Aisha turned to Yuan and asked, “Where will we head first after arriving on the Beast Continent? I honestly have no idea about that place—I’ve never been there before.”
“Our first destination will be the Elven Kingdom. We need to return my people to their homeland before making any other decisions,” Mireya answered in Yuan’s place.
She then continued, her voice calm but firm, “Once we return them to their families and find shelter for those who’ve lost their homes or loved ones, we’ll be free to do as we please.”
Her expression suddenly turned cold, and a dangerous glint appeared in her eyes.
“And there could be a traitor among my people… Otherwise, there’s no way the Holy Church could’ve entered our forest without us detecting their presence,” Mireya said, her voice carrying restrained anger.
Nodding her head, Sylvia added, “I agree. Someone from within must have misled us, giving the humans the chance to slip through unnoticed. And I doubt it’s the work of just one person. This reeks of a larger conspiracy.”
“And I strongly suspect someone from the Noble Families. For an ordinary elf to manipulate the kingdom’s internal defenses is nearly impossible. Without status or authority, no one could’ve rerouted us like that,” Mireya said, affirming Sylvia’s suspicion.
Noticing their growing fury, Yuan stepped forward, gently pulling both women into his arms, a warm smile softening his expression.
“For now, don’t stress yourselves over it. We’ll handle it when the time comes. And you’re not alone. I—and everyone else—will be by your side no matter what.” His gentle tone calmed their tempers almost instantly.
‘They’re right,’ Yuan thought to himself. ‘There is indeed a traitor. And just as they suspected, it must be someone from the top. A Noble Family member, no doubt… Someone with the means, the access, and the motive.’
He was also sure that this traitor would do everything possible to prevent Mireya’s return to her rightful position in the elven kingdom.
Still, now was not the time to worry about such matters. With their cultivation levels, none of them were easily threatened. Even without lifting a finger, Mireya alone could bring devastation to the continent if she were truly enraged.
If it came to it, he and the others could simply stand back and watch as Mireya and Sylvia purged the kingdom of every last traitor.
A few minutes later, a servant entered the room and politely informed them that the feast was ready. Other servants followed, gracefully placing the dishes on the large dining table.
“Come on, let’s eat before the food gets cold,” Angela said, rising from the bed with a gentle smile directed toward Yuan and Lily.
Yuan and Lily nodded before following her to the dining hall. Anna and the others also stood and joined them.
“Wow! So much food!” Xi Meili exclaimed, her eyes sparkling as she stared at the lavish spread. Her mouth watered slightly at the sight of the rich, aromatic dishes.
Shortly after, everyone was seated at the table and began enjoying the delicious food laid out before them. Yuan, Xi Meili, and Emma were especially enthusiastic, stuffing their faces at an incredible pace that continued to surprise both Angela and Selvariel.
What was even more bizarre was that they showed no signs of slowing down. It was as if they had been starving for hundreds of years.
—
The next morning, Yuan and the others were ready to depart for the Beast Continent after finishing their breakfast early.
Anna and Grace had once again merged into one, which not only boosted their cultivation but also conserved energy for long-distance flight. She would be carrying Angela with her on her flying sword since Angela had only recently become a cultivator and hadn’t yet learned how to fly on her own.
As for Aisha, she would be riding on Yuan’s flying sword. The idea of soaring through the skies beside Yuan left her visibly excited, a wide grin plastered across her face.
Before leaving the Blank Clan’s territory, they bid farewell to Nolan and several key clan members.
On their way out, they decided to drop by the Drake Clan’s territory once more to give them another warning—this time one they would take seriously. The goal was to ensure they wouldn’t dare seek revenge in the future.
Besides, the path to the edge of the continent required them to pass through the Drake Clan’s domain. There was a harbor there, from where people typically traveled to the Beast Continent via magic ship.
However, taking a magic ship was extremely slow and time-consuming. Yuan and his wives, with their flying swords, could reach the Beast Continent far more quickly. Not to mention, it would save a considerable amount of time.
And so, they soared toward the Drake Clan’s territory, cutting through the skies at a terrifying speed.
