My Celestial Ascension

Chapter 564: Spirit Grandmaster

“Demon Slaying Slash!”

The Empyreal Oblivion was suddenly engulfed by an ancient aura, and glowing golden symbols appeared along its blade, radiating brightly.

“What the—” The fat demon barely had time to speak before the sword pierced his chest, right next to the glowing crystal embedded there.

At first, the demon felt no pain, only a strange numbing sensation. He looked down, puzzled, as the feeling spread.

“Hahaha! You think that attack could kill—” The demon’s mocking laughter stopped abruptly. His eyes darted to the sword, and his expression shifted as he sensed the ancient aura. It felt familiar… but terrifyingly so.

His gaze dropped to his chest, and what he saw froze him in place. The area around the blade was turning to stone, slowly crumbling into dust.

“What—what did you do to me, human?!” The demon’s voice trembled, fear creeping in as his body betrayed him.

The other demons watched in shock, their eyes widening in disbelief. They stared at Yuan with something they hadn’t expected to feel—fear.

“W-Wait a minute… I’ve felt this aura before…” one demon mumbled, his eyes clouding with realization. Then his face paled. “T-This… This is the cursed technique!” he shouted, his voice filled with dread.

“The cursed technique? How could this lowly human possess ‘that’?!” another demon exclaimed, his body trembling with fear.

The truth settled in. Yuan possessed the one thing all demons feared—the Demon Slaying Technique, the bane of their kind.

“C-Curse you! Curse you, human!” the fat demon yelled, his voice desperate as his body crumbled rapidly, turning into stone.

“No! I can’t end like this! Not like—” But before he could finish his final words, his body disintegrated completely, collapsing into a pile of dust. All that remained was the Demon Core, resting atop the ashes.

“He… he’s dead… killed by that worthless worm,” one of the remaining demons snarled, his voice dripping with rage.

“This is unacceptable!”

The other demons glared at Yuan, their faces twisted with fury and humiliation, unable to stomach the disgrace of being bested by a mere human.

Humans were nothing but livestock to demons, sources of strength and nourishment. Drinking the blood of a cultivator and consuming their flesh was the fastest way for demons to evolve and grow stronger. Every demon dreamed of feasting on human flesh and blood.

The demons glared furiously at Yuan, their bodies radiating a tyrannical aura that made the atmosphere heavy and suffocating. They seethed with the desire to rip him apart and devour his flesh.

“Let’s attack him all at once! We can’t let that sword touch us—one wrong move, and it could be the end of us!” one demon shouted, preparing to launch an assault.

“That sword… it looks familiar somehow…” another demon muttered.

“Yes, and the aura it’s emitting… it’s terrifying! It sends a shiver down my spine!”

Without wasting a second, the three demons charged at Yuan, their claw-like hands extended. Their fury boiled over at the thought of him killing one of their own.

“Blood Manipulation: Blood Spear!”

“Blood Manipulation: Blood Daggers!”

“Blood Manipulation: Blood Arrows!”

Each demon manipulated their own blood, turning it into deadly weapons, just as the first demon had done.

‘As expected, their movements are predictable… but they’re much stronger than the one I killed earlier,’ Yuan thought, gripping the Empyreal Oblivion tightly. He knew he had to be cautious.

Clang! Clang!

The demons’ attacks clashed against Yuan’s sword, forcing him back several meters. Yuan’s eyes widened as he felt the sheer force behind their strikes—it was as if a mountain was crashing down on him.

‘They’re incredibly strong!’ he thought, alarmed by their power.

‘I have to take this seriously… If I don’t, they might go after my mother and the others,’ Yuan’s expression darkened at the thought. He knew he had to eliminate them quickly before they became a greater threat.

The demons continued their onslaught, their Blood Manipulation techniques coming at Yuan in quick succession. Yuan barely managed to dodge their relentless attacks, which were faster and more powerful than anything the first demon had thrown at him.

They were relentless, each one determined to wound him and slow him down, all while keeping their distance from his Demon Slaying Aura and the sword’s deadly reach.

Boom!

Suddenly, a powerful shockwave erupted through the area as Grandpa Fang clashed with the Demon Lord, the two of them evenly matched. In fact, Grandpa Fang seemed to be slightly gaining the upper hand, his body radiating with Phoenix Flames.

“Hahaha! You damn bird, you’ve gotten stronger than before!” the Demon Lord laughed, his body engulfed in the golden flames. “I never expected you to push me back like this! You’ve earned my respect, protector of the Red Pagoda!”

But then, a wicked grin spread across the Demon Lord’s face. “However… your flames are useless against me. Look—my body has already started to regenerate. In just a few seconds, I’ll be as good as new,” he said with a sneer, his flesh visibly knitting itself back together.

“Well, I can say the same for you. You’ve become quite formidable,” Grandpa Fang replied coolly, showing no sign of intimidation despite the Demon Lord’s menacing aura.

“If the Lord hadn’t set up that formation in the human city, you might have grown even stronger. But your existence ends today. I’ll turn you into charcoal with my flames and offer your Demon Core to our new Lord.”

The Demon Lord chuckled, his voice filled with mocking amusement.

“Confident, are we? Your flames are useless against me. You must be forgetting things in your old age.” He laughed loudly, but the amusement quickly faded as both he and Grandpa Fang blurred, hurtling toward each other with incredible speed.

A massive collision ensued, and the sky exploded in golden flames, the entire horizon lighting up as though it were an enormous fireworks display. Yuan and his wives stood in awe at the spectacle caused by Grandpa Fang.

“Spirit Lord cultivators really are on a completely different level from Spirit Masters and Spirit Grandmasters…” Anna muttered, her eyes wide with disbelief.

“Indeed… I can feel the shockwave rattling my bones,” Valeria added, her body trembling from the force of the battle above.

Meanwhile, Yuan remained locked in combat with the three demons, their relentless attacks barely missing him as he relied on his incredible speed to evade them.

“Empyreal Severing Sword Strike!”

With a single motion, Yuan unleashed a powerful beam of light, infused with his Sword Aura. The attack was so swift and devastating that the demons barely had time to react.

“Damn it!” one of them cursed as they were engulfed by the beam.

BOOM!

The explosion was so destructive that over ninety percent of their bodies were obliterated, leaving them struggling to regenerate.

“Heavenly Sanctuary!”

Yuan swiftly activated his next technique, a radiant energy forming around the demons, locking them in place as their bodies desperately tried to heal.

“What is this sensation? This doesn’t feel right!” one demon growled in panic.

“At this rate, we’ll end up like that fatty!” another demon hissed, fear creeping into their voice as they saw Yuan’s widening grin.

The sword in Yuan’s hand glowed with the ancient aura again, mysterious symbols illuminating the blade as a pressure so immense descended upon the demons that they found themselves paralyzed.

“T-This pressure… we can’t move! Why isn’t our regeneration working like before?!” one of the demons shouted, their terror mounting.

Yuan’s grin only widened as he raised the Empyreal Oblivion high. “This is perfect. That helpless look on your faces… it’s priceless.”

With one swift motion, he struck.

“Demon Slaying Slash!”

With a single swing of the Empyreal Oblivion, Yuan decapitated the demons, and their heads rolled onto the ground.

“Unbelievable… to think we would be defeated by a mere human brat. This is utterly humiliating… Curse you, damn human!” One of the demons shouted at Yuan as his body began turning to stone, slowly crumbling away.

One by one, all three demons turned to stone and began crumbling. Before long, their bodies disintegrated into dust, leaving their Demon Cores scattered on the ground.

“Well, that was quick. No wonder demons fear the Demon Slaying Techniques…” Fang Xiaoyan mumbled, her expression dazed, seemingly shocked by how easily Yuan had defeated the terrifying demons.

“H-He defeated the demons all by himself. Incredible! As expected of my grandson-in-law. Fufufu~” Grandma Fang chuckled, a proud grin spreading across her face.

After defeating the demons, Yuan collected their Demon Cores and tossed them into his mouth one after another, as if they were tasty treats.

“They’re very spicy!” Yuan mumbled, feeling as though he had swallowed an extremely hot pepper.

His mouth was burning.

“Whoa! I’ve finally had a breakthrough and reached the Spirit Grandmaster realm…!” Yuan exclaimed, excitement lighting up his face as he felt his strength doubling.

“Unbelievable… To think you can achieve breakthroughs just by consuming Monster Cores and Demon Cores… this is simply amazing!” Grandma Fang exclaimed, her face still filled with awe at Yuan’s unique ability to consume such cores.

BOOM!

Suddenly, a powerful explosion sent the Demon Lord flying hundreds of meters, causing massive destruction in the forest.

“That hideous thing has become very powerful after consuming monster blood for thousands of years…” Grandpa Fang muttered, landing beside Yuan.

“Haha! So what now? You can’t defeat me with your flames; they’re useless against me. Are you going to surrender yourself?” The Demon Lord’s laughter echoed as he suddenly appeared before them, hovering in the air.

He grinned maliciously at everyone, then fixed his eyes on Yuan and his wives, noticing the demons that had accompanied him were nowhere to be seen.

But then his gaze locked on Yuan and the Empyreal Oblivion in his hands. The Demon Lord’s eyes widened in shock, his face twisting in rage and disbelief as he roared in a spiteful voice, “T-That sword! Impossible! And that face! You— So you’ve finally returned, huh?”
