Chapter 549: Emma’s Bloodline Awakening (part2)
The aura around Emma grew intense and grim, filling the atmosphere with a palpable sense of dread. The purple aura surrounding her body expanded until it completely enveloped her.
“T-This feeling… there’s no mistake. It’s the birth of *that* creature!” Grandpa Fang exclaimed, his expression one of shock, with sweat forming on his forehead.
Xi Meili swallowed nervously and nodded. “There’s no doubt… This is the birth of something incredibly dangerous, something that shouldn’t exist…”
“To think that this bloodline still survives in this era… I read that every last member of that bloodline was eradicated from the Nine Heavens,” Grandpa Fang said, staring at Emma in disbelief, deeply uncomfortable with the aura around her.
Yuan, overhearing their conversation, grew curious and asked, “Grandpa Fang, what kind of Divine Beast are you talking about? You all seem uneasy around Emma’s aura. Is something wrong with her?”
Grandpa Fang looked at Yuan for a moment before replying, “There’s nothing wrong with your woman. She’s undergoing her Bloodline Awakening. However, the bloodline she’s awakening is extremely rare—nearly extinct since the Primordial Era, also known as the First Era.”
“I’m honestly surprised that one of your wives carries this bloodline,” Grandpa Fang continued, still dazed by the revelation.
Meanwhile, the purple aura around Emma began to solidify, taking the shape of an egg covered in purple scales with golden markings. The egg emitted a powerful pressure, and everyone felt a sense of danger except for Yuan, Anna, Grace, and Lily, who remained unaffected.
“What just happened?! Emma… she turned into an egg!” Sylvia gasped, utterly speechless as she witnessed the mind-boggling transformation.
“I’ve never seen anything like this before… It’s all so new to me,” Mireya murmured, still in shock.
“I hope nothing bad happens to her while she’s in this state…” Anna said, her voice filled with concern for Emma’s safety. ƒreewebɳovel.com
“Don’t be too shocked,” Grandpa Fang said calmly. “Her body is undergoing some profound changes. Once her transformation is complete, she will emerge from the egg.”
“But it may take some time. All we can do now is wait for her to come out on her own.”
“How long do you think it will take for her to finish the awakening?” Yuan asked, his concern evident.
Grandpa Fang pondered for a moment before replying, “To be honest, I have no idea. It could take a few minutes or an entire day. It depends on the individual and their talent.”
“Well, we’ll just have to wait and see when she comes out,” Grandpa Fang said. Then, turning to his granddaughter, he added, “Xiaoyan, go brew some tea for everyone, and bring some biscuits too.”
“I understand,” Fang Xiaoyan replied before quickly heading to the kitchen.
Moments after Fang Xiaoyan left, the purple egg began to glow with a warm golden light. A powerful spiritual energy emanated from it, sending a shockwave through the area.
“What a powerful shockwave! It seems she’s close to fully awakening her bloodline,” Grandma Fang murmured, dazed by the force of the energy.
“Of course it’s powerful,” Grandpa Fang chuckled. “She’s awakening the bloodline of an ancient Divine Beast that was feared by all living beings.”
He then turned to Yuan. “Yuan, stop worrying about her. I assure you, she’ll be fine. Now, let’s get some chairs and a table.”
“I can’t help but worry,” Yuan smiled awkwardly, before following Grandpa Fang back to the house to gather chairs and a table.
A couple of minutes later, Yuan and Grandpa Fang returned, carrying chairs and a small table. Yuan placed the table down, while Grandpa Fang arranged the chairs for everyone. A few seconds later, Fang Xiaoyan returned from the kitchen, carrying a tray of tea and biscuits. She set the tray on the table and began serving tea to everyone.
“Let me know how the biscuits are. I hope you like them,” Fang Xiaoyan said with a smile, her eyes lingering on Yuan.
“Since you made them, I’m 100% sure they’re delicious,” Yuan replied, smiling as he popped a biscuit into his mouth.
Moments later, the purple egg began to emit a faint golden light, and cracks started forming across its surface, with golden light spilling from the fissures.
“T-This is… It looks like she’s almost finished awakening her bloodline. She could come out of the egg at any moment now,” Grandpa Fang muttered.
Yuan and his wives immediately stood up from their seats and gathered around the egg, a mix of anticipation and concern on their faces, eagerly awaiting Emma’s emergence.
“This is indeed the bloodline of that ancient Divine Beast… There’s no doubt about it,” Grandpa Fang said, still in disbelief.
Fang Xiaoyan furrowed her brows and asked, “Grandpa, what kind of Divine Beast are you talking about? Is it really that dangerous?”
“You have no idea… The Deathwind Serpent is one of the most feared creatures. With a single poisonous breath, it could wipe out an entire planet. Even the First Celestial Emperor avoided confronting it during the Primordial Era,” Grandpa Fang explained, addressing both his granddaughter and the others.
He continued, “Immortals and gods alike fell before the last Deathwind Serpent, and people trembled at the mere mention of its name—it was a walking disaster.”
“There is no cure for the poison of the Deathwind Serpent. Only the serpent itself could provide the antidote, but people preferred death to facing such a creature.”
“But something mysterious happened in the Primordial Era… every member of the Deathwind Serpent race was wiped out. Not a single one survived.” Grandpa Fang finished his explanation of the dreaded creature.
“Deathwind Serpent, huh? What a dangerous name for a Divine Beast…” Yuan mumbled under his breath.
A few seconds later, the cracks in the egg widened, and with a final burst, the eggshell shattered like glass. Emma’s figure emerged, but in a completely transformed state.
She now had two purple horns on her forehead, her hair had turned a deep violet, and purple scales covered parts of her body. She looked more beautiful than ever, with a sweet scent emanating from her, but there was also a colder aura about her, as though her bloodline had affected her emotions.
Yuan stood frozen for a moment, stunned by her new appearance and beauty. Despite her colder demeanor, a warm smile spread across his face.
“Congratulations, Emma! You’ve fully awakened your bloodline! I’m so happy for you,” Yuan said, quickly approaching her and pulling her into a tight embrace.
The coldness in Emma’s expression melted away, replaced by a soft smile as she wrapped her arms around his neck. She pressed her lips to his, kissing him passionately.
As the two kissed, Fang Xiaoyan felt a strange sensation in her chest, something she had never experienced before, like a hot needle piercing her heart.
‘What is this feeling? Am I… jealous watching him kiss his wife?’ Fang Xiaoyan thought, bewildered by the unfamiliar emotion.
The longer she watched them kiss, the more uncomfortable she felt, the strange sensation growing within her.
Noticing the expression on her face, Grandpa Fang and Grandma Fang exchanged knowing glances with Fang Ling and Fang Hao, and they all chuckled quietly.
“It seems our granddaughter is feeling a little jealous of Emma… This is a good sign,” Grandma Fang whispered, grinning.
“I’ve already noticed, but she’s a bit clueless about it. It’ll take some time for her to realize her feelings,” Fang Ling added playfully.
“The sooner, the better,” Grandpa Fang said, smiling at the thought of holding his great-grandchildren one day.
Fang Hao nodded with a wide grin. “How about we give them a little push? It might speed things up, and we’ll have a grandchild sooner.”
“Finally, you’ve said something that makes sense, you old fool!” Fang Ling laughed.
‘As if I’ve been wrong my whole life, hmph!’ Fang Hao grumbled inwardly, frustrated.
Meanwhile, Anna and the others gathered around Emma, asking if she felt any discomfort or pain after awakening her bloodline. Emma beamed with happiness, touched by how much her family cared for her.
“Thank you all for worrying about me, but I’m perfectly fine—better than ever,” Emma said warmly, smiling at everyone after ending her passionate kiss with Yuan.
A while later, Grandma Fang mentioned the family’s hot spring in their backyard. Upon hearing this, Yuan’s wives immediately became excited to try it out, especially since they hadn’t had a proper bath since entering the Secret Realm.
‘Perfect! My plan is working just as expected. Now, I just need my granddaughter to show them the hot spring along with Yuan. Hopefully, his wives will convince Xiaoyan to join them,’ Grandma Fang grinned inwardly, pleased with herself.
‘Why am I getting a strange vibe from Grandma?’ Fang Xiaoyan thought, sensing something off, but she quickly shrugged it off, deciding not to dwell on the feeling.
“Xiaoyan, dear, why don’t you go with Yuan and show them the hot spring? It’ll be a good chance for you to bond with them,” Grandma Fang suggested, smiling, though her thoughts were far more mischievous.
“I understand, Grandma,” Fang Xiaoyan nodded, smiling back before turning to Yuan.
“Let’s go. I’ve been meaning to take a bath there myself,” Yuan said, turning to his wives, who eagerly followed him and Fang Xiaoyan, their excitement barely contained.
