My Celestial Ascension

Chapter 544: Essence Of The Tree Of Life

‘Heavens… He is truly the destined one! The one we are meant to serve as our Lord! Finally, our waiting has ended…’ Grandpa Fang looked at Yuan with an excited smile, feeling all kinds of emotions swirling within his heart.

“You… You really are the Destined One, the person we have been waiting for such a long time… the one we are meant to serve.”

The smile on Grandpa Fang’s face widened as the black stone shone even brighter, his excitement barely contained at the realization that the person his family had been waiting for had finally appeared before them.

“The stone is indeed glowing with a bright golden light. He really is the destined one, isn’t he? It seems he was fated to be found by our granddaughter… fufu~,” Grandma Fang chuckled softly, casting a sly glance at her granddaughter.

“Don’t give me that look, Grandma! I know what you’re thinking… humph!” Fang Xiaoyan snorted, her cheeks turning slightly red.

‘They’re still at it, huh?’ Yuan chuckled inwardly, watching the silent battle between Fang Xiaoyan and Grandma Fang.

“Young man, it seems that your arrival here was predetermined by fate… and we were destined to meet you,” Grandpa Fang said to Yuan with a wide grin. “Now that we know your identity, I should hand over the treasure left behind by the Lord.”

“Wait here; I’ll go fetch the treasure for you. It may take some time, so feel free to chat in the meantime.” With that, the old man left the room to retrieve the treasure left behind by the Lord for Yuan.

Once Grandpa Fang left, Anna looked at Grandma Fang and asked, “Senior Fang, can you tell me why you’re referring to my darling as the destined one? I’m very curious.”

Grandma Fang looked thoughtful for a moment before replying, “Well, before our Lord disappeared from this secret realm over a hundred thousand years ago, he left behind a special treasure that could only be used once.”

“He also told our ancestors that one day a young man would arrive at our residence, and we should hand the treasure to him. After that, the Lord vanished and was never found again.” Grandma Fang explained everything she knew about the prophecy left behind by the Lord.

“I see…”

Yuan’s wives were surprised to learn that someone had predicted their arrival 100,000 years ago and had left a treasure for Yuan. They looked at Yuan curiously, wondering about his connection to the Lord of this secret realm.

“By the way, are there any other Divine Beasts in this secret realm besides your family?” Lily suddenly inquired, intrigued by the existence of other Divine Beasts.

“Sadly, in this realm, there are only three Divine Beasts—my useless son, my granddaughter, and myself. There aren’t any others,” Grandma Fang replied.

“I see… but you said there are three Divine Beasts, yet there are five people in your family?”

Grandma Fang chuckled, as did her daughter-in-law, and Fang Ling said, “Well, my daughter-in-law and I are not Divine Beasts. We’re just ordinary Spiritual Beasts that took human form and became intelligent after reaching a certain level of cultivation.”

“Huh? Spiritual Beasts can also take human form? This is truly unbelievable…!” Yuan’s wives exclaimed in shock, covering their mouths with their hands.

Until now, they hadn’t realized they were speaking with Spiritual Beasts who had taken human form after reaching a certain cultivation level. They looked exactly like humans, so much so that no one would have noticed they were Spiritual Beasts.

“Well, many things are possible in the world of cultivation,” Fang Ling chuckled at the expressions on Yuan’s wives’ faces.

“By the way, I’m Fang Xiaoyan’s mother, Fang Ling—a Dark Flame Raven,” she introduced herself with a smile.

Anna nodded, smiling back. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Miss Ling. I’m Anna.”

“And I’m Grace,” Grace added with a smile.

Yuan then introduced his other wives to the Fang Family, and they spent the next few minutes chatting, waiting for the old man to return with the treasure.

After some time, Grandma Fang grew frustrated with her husband for taking so long and began cursing him inwardly.

At this moment, Grandpa Fang returned to the living room with a small wooden box in hand. The box was intricately designed with golden patterns. He carefully placed it on the tea table before Yuan and said, “Here, young man. This box can only be opened by you. If anyone tries to force it open, the contents inside will be destroyed by a powerful formation.”

“I see… so this is the box containing the treasure,” Yuan replied, staring at the box for a moment. “Do you know anything about what’s inside?”

Grandpa Fang thought for a while before responding, “From what I heard from my father, there is an elixir inside that can increase the effect of any Divine Beast’s blood by a hundred percent. However, before consuming it, one must mix it with the blood of a Divine Beast.”

“I see…” Yuan muttered as he retrieved his dagger from his system storage and pricked his finger, allowing a single drop of blood to fall onto the box.

*Click!* A sudden clicking sound came from the box. Yuan quickly opened it to reveal a small container emitting a faint golden light. He could sense a powerful life force emanating from within, like an immense vitality stored inside. Beside the container was a cup made of spiritual jade, glowing faintly green, clearly another treasure.

“Essence of the Tree of Life… and it’s a mythical-grade treasure!” Yuan exclaimed, eyes wide in disbelief. He felt as if he was looking at something straight out of legend. The elixir’s effects were so potent that it nearly left him speechless—a single drop could increase his lifespan by 500,000 years. If the people of this world knew of it, they would wage wars to acquire such an elixir.

“Dear Xiaoyan, drop a few drops of your blood into this cup so Yuan can drink it and awaken his bloodline,” Grandma Fang instructed, pointing at the jade cup.

“I understand, Grandma.” Fang Xiaoyan nodded, retrieving a small knife from her spatial ring. Without hesitation, she made a sizable cut on her finger, surprising Yuan and his wives with the amount of blood she let flow into the cup.

The cup was soon halfway filled with her blood, which was slightly golden, just like her flames. Yuan could feel an intense, vital heat radiating from it.

After nodding approvingly at his granddaughter, Grandpa Fang turned to Yuan and said, “Now, young man, add the drop of elixir into the cup and let it rest for a moment so the elixir can mix perfectly with the blood.”

“I understand,” Yuan replied. He carefully added the drop of elixir to the cup and waited for it to blend naturally.

Moments later, the blood in the cup began emitting a faint golden light, and the temperature in the room rose significantly. Except for the Fang Family and Xi Meili, everyone else started to sweat profusely.

“It’s starting…” Grandma Fang murmured, staring at the cup with a dazed expression.

A few seconds later, the entire cup glowed with a bright golden light, and the blood within turned completely golden, radiating an immensely powerful vital energy.

“Young man, it’s ready to be consumed now. Before you drink it, sit in a lotus position so the elixir can flow through every part of your body,” Grandpa Fang instructed, ensuring Yuan could handle the strain of awakening his bloodline without losing control of his strength.

“I understand,” Yuan replied with determination, sitting down in the lotus position, ready for what was to come.

He then took a deep breath before grabbing the cup of blood mixed with the priceless elixir and chugged it down like a warrior.

After drinking the blood, Yuan immediately felt his body heating up, as though he had swallowed a cup full of lava instead of blood, causing his temperature to rise rapidly.

“Agh! So hot!” Yuan exclaimed as his body grew warmer and warmer until smoke began to rise from him and parts of his clothes started to burn.

“Darling! Are you okay?!” Anna cried out, startled, and worried that something might have gone wrong and it was hurting him.

“Calm down, Young Lady! This means his bloodline is beginning to awaken from its long slumber,” Grandpa Fang reassured Anna calmly.

He then turned to Yuan and continued, “You’re doing great, young man. Keep enduring it. If you lose consciousness because of the pain, you might not awaken your bloodline.”

“I understand,” Yuan nodded, gritting his teeth as the pain continued to intensify, his body covered in sweat that instantly turned to vapor from the heat.

Seeing the painful expression on Yuan’s face as he endured the awakening of his bloodline, his wives became increasingly worried about his condition.

“Agh! Cough! Cough!” A few seconds later, Yuan suddenly puked out a mouthful of blood, startling everyone in the room except for Grandpa Fang.

The blood he spat out was completely black.

“Senior, are you sure he will be okay?” Anna asked anxiously.

However, Grandpa Fang ignored her, his gaze focused on Yuan, watching him awaken his bloodline with a serious look on his face.
