Chapter 543: Reunion (part 2)
“Mom Anna! Mom Grace! How did you get in here?” Yuan’s surprised voice resounded from behind, catching everyone’s attention.
“Darling~! It really is you!”
Anna and Grace’s expressions brightened instantly upon seeing Yuan. They immediately ran toward him, tightly embracing him and showering his face with kisses.
Yuan felt incredibly happy to see his two beautiful moms after so long. He wrapped his arms around their waists, pulling them into a warm hug filled with love and affection, showing just how much he cared for them.
“We missed you so much, darling,” they whispered gently into his ears before pulling back slightly.
“Hubby! I missed you so much!”
Without warning, Xi Meili jumped on him with a wide, excited grin, overjoyed to reunite with her husband after so many days.
Yuan gave her a big, affectionate kiss on the cheek and said, “I missed you too, Meili.”
After a few seconds, Yuan let go of Xi Meili and greeted his other wives, hugging them warmly. They had been apart for too long and missed each other dearly.
Meanwhile, Fang Xiaoyan and the others watched the scene unfold with dumbfounded expressions. Everything had happened so fast, and they were stunned to realize that the “invaders” were actually Yuan’s family.
*Cough!* Grandpa Fang stepped forward and cleared his throat before speaking, “So, this is your family, huh? I assume every one of them is your woman?”
“You could say that, yes,” Yuan replied with a smile, turning his head around.
“Who are these people, darling?” Anna asked, looking surprised.
‘That girl over there is drop-dead gorgeous. Who is she, exactly?’ Grace thought to herself, almost inwardly crying when she sensed Fang Xiaoyan’s cultivation level, which was above the Spirit Grandmaster, at the second level of the Spirit Lord realm.
“No need to be so guarded. They’re friends I’ve recently made, Mom. Just relax, they are very kind people,” Yuan responded with a small chuckle, patting Xi Meili’s head, who looked the most aggressive at the moment.
“I see… it seems we misunderstood,” Anna sighed in relief. She then looked at the old couple and said, “Thank you for taking care of Yuan. We’ve been quite worried since we got separated from him.”
“There is no need to thank us for something so small,” Grandma Fang responded with a kind smile. “How about we head inside first, and then we can talk? After all, you must all be exhausted from navigating through the forest in search of this wonderful young man.”
“That would be wonderful,” Anna replied with a smile.
“Follow us, this way.”
The old couple led them all to the house, looking excited to finally chat with so many new people for the first time in their lives—a thrilling experience for them.
A few minutes later, they returned to the house and guided Yuan’s wives to the spacious living room.
“Please have a seat, everyone!” Fang Xiaoyan’s mother said with a smile, stealing a few glances at her own daughter.
Meanwhile, Xi Meili and Fang Xiaoyan were glaring at each other as if they were mortal enemies, invisible sparks flying between their eyes.
Xi Meili turned her head with a snort, looked at Yuan, and asked, “Hubby, why are you with this chicken?”
“Oi! Who are you calling a chicken, you overgrown lizard?! For your information, I’m a proud Phoenix, not a chicken, humph!” Fang Xiaoyan immediately exploded in anger at being called a chicken by Xi Meili.
“What’s the difference? You both look the same—a chicken.” Xi Meili glared at her with a furious look.
“Shut up, you overgrown lizard! You’re the chicken, and your whole family is chickens!” Fang Xiaoyan shouted back at Xi Meili.
“Humph! How dare you call me a lizard again?! I’ll pluck your chicken feathers and make clothes for my hubby!” Xi Meili retorted, growing increasingly furious.
“And I’ll pluck every scale from your body and roast you with my flames!”
A wisp of golden flame appeared in Fang Xiaoyan’s hand as she glared fiercely at Xi Meili. Both of them looked furious, for reasons unknown.
‘What’s up with them? Why are they fighting like dogs?’ Yuan felt as though he was standing on an invisible battlefield, seeing sparks flying everywhere.
Before Xi Meili could utter another word, Yuan pulled her into his embrace to calm her down, and the situation finally settled.
Everyone except for the old couple was shocked by what had just transpired. Everything happened so suddenly and unexpectedly, and they were curious about why Xi Meili had become so furious with Fang Xiaoyan, whom they’d never met before.
‘Thankfully, I stepped in just in time before things escalated. I wonder why Xi Meili and Fang Xiaoyan were acting that way, though,’ Yuan pondered with a deep sigh.
“So, it turns out she is a Primordial Chaos Dragon. No wonder our dear Xiaoyan got so angry with her all of a sudden… Young people can’t control their natural instincts, can they?” Grandpa Fang chuckled softly, seeing her aggression toward Xi Meili.
“I see now… That explains everything…” Grandma Fang smiled in understanding.
The Primordial Chaos Dragon and the Eternal Vermilion Phoenix have been fighting against each other since the moment they came into existence. The reason behind their conflict is quite simple: it’s the innate fire they both possess.
Each race claims that their flame is the most powerful in the world, believing no other flame could rival theirs. However, both races think the other’s flame is inferior compared to their own.
The Primordial Chaos Dragon’s flame is a mixture of crimson and jet black, while the Eternal Vermilion Phoenix’s flame is red with a hint of gold. The purer their bloodline, the more golden their flame becomes. Both flames are incredibly powerful, with unique strengths and weaknesses that complement each other.
“By the way, young lady, both you and the lady beside you have the same aura. Are you two twins by any chance?” Grandpa Fang asked Grace, noticing their matching auras, which immediately caught his attention.
“Well, you could say that, but it’s a bit more complicated…” Anna replied with an awkward look and began explaining her unique physique to them.
Both of them were cultivators above the Spirit Grandmaster realm, with far more knowledge than most. Moreover, they had been so kind to Yuan that she decided to share details about her physique with them.
“Unbelievable…! To think that you possess the mystic physique from legend… This is simply amazing!” Grandpa Fang exclaimed after a moment.
Anna and Grace raised their brows in surprise, and Grace asked, “Senior, do you know anything about our physique? Could you tell us what you know about it?”
“Well, I only know a little about it. I heard about it from my father when I was young, so my knowledge is quite limited,” Grandpa Fang said after thinking for a moment.
Anna and Grace’s eyes lit up with excitement. “That would be fine. We just want to know more about our physique since it is very unique compared to others,” they replied eagerly.
After pondering for a moment, Grandpa Fang began, “The physique you two possess only appeared once in this world, during the Primordial Era, also known as the first era when cultivators had unfathomable powers and reigned supreme over the entire world.”
“In that era, there was a powerful empire ruled by an empress who later gave birth to two identical daughters with the very same physique that you two have.”
“It is said they could communicate with each other even if one was on the edge of the world, and could merge together to become one individual with the power of two.”
“As I recall, the empress and her two daughters suddenly vanished one day, never to be seen again. People searched throughout the Divine Heaven for millions of years, but they were never found, and not even a trace of them remained.”
“That’s all I know about your physique, young ladies. I don’t know anything more,” Grandpa Fang sighed.
After a moment of thought, Yuan suddenly asked, “Grandpa Fang, do you know anything about the Heaven Devouring Physique?”
“Hea—Heaven Devouring Physique… That godly physique… How do you know about it?” Grandpa Fang immediately looked at Yuan in disbelief.
“Well, I have that physique,” Yuan responded casually.
“What?! You have that godly physique? Impossible!” Grandpa Fang immediately stood up from his seat, seemingly baffled by Yuan’s response.
“If you truly have that physique, then you are the Destined One we have been waiting for all this time…” Grandpa Fang turned around and looked at his granddaughter.
“Xiaoyan, quickly go to the family vault and bring the special stone. Hurry!”
“I understand.” Fang Xiaoyan immediately left without question.
A few minutes later, Fang Xiaoyan returned to the living room with a jet-black stone in her hand. The stone had unique and somewhat strange patterns etched across its surface.
“Here is the stone, Grandpa,” she said, immediately handing it to her grandfather before taking her seat opposite Yuan.
“Thank you, Xiaoyan.” Grandpa Fang then looked at Yuan and said, “Now, young man, drop a few drops of your blood onto this stone. If it glows with a golden light, then you are the person we’ve been waiting for, and we will pledge our loyalty to you for the rest of our lives.”
“I understand…” Yuan replied. He stood up from his seat, retrieved a dagger from his system storage, made a small cut on his fingertip, and let a few drops of blood fall onto the stone.
A few seconds later, the stone began to shine with a golden light, growing brighter with each passing moment. Grandpa Fang’s expression shifted, and a huge smile spread across his face.
